Cedar Point has revealed a new amazing roller coaster!
In this video, we visited Cedar Point’s for the news announcing the ride Top Thrill 2! The new coaster is located on the location of the former popular Top Thrill Dragster that has been reimagined!
Top Thrill 2’s track prowess is driven by state-of-the-art linear synchronous motor (LSM) technology, creating acceleration that’s seamless, smooth, quiet and FAST. First, shift into drive and launch from 0-74 MPH and climb toward the sky and experience a rollback as the train shifts into reverse and enters its second launch. Speeding to 101 MPH, you’ll accelerate backward and speed up a new, 90-degree, 420-foot-tall vertical tower and feel another moment of weightlessness before shifting into drive yet again, falling forward into the high-speed straightaway: a pedal-to-the-metal launch to 120 MPH, sending you to the top of the track, cresting the top hat at 420 feet and right into a 270-degree spiral before crossing the finish line.
This roller coaster is going to be epic!

I am really excited. I can't wait to ride it. I rode a mini version called Wicked coaster with a 100 foot launch at Lagoon park. Cedar Point is my favorite park.

Like to see train placed backwards every other year so people could get a 420 drop backwards. That would make another worlds record.😂
The new ride is missing that 0-120 in 3 seconds aspect and to be honest... that's what made the ride so great in the first place, so without it, I'm way less interested :/
I like the colors, but hate the name. I can't wait to ride it (just need to get my dad to say it's okay 🤣.... he doesn't think it's safe)!!
We love the colors too! Kind of feel like Top Thrill 2 sounds like a nickname… not a ride name. But we are here for it lol let us know if your dad decides it safe 🤣
You know, there's so many people who hate the new name of Top Thrill 2. IMO, I think it's an Absolutely Awesome Name!! What Cedar Point/Fair did is to pay homage to part of the Original Name for the Coaster. It's just like what Six Flags did when they transferred the original layout of their Wooden Rollercoasters, into Hybrids. But I still wished that The Gravity Group could have Restored their Wooden Rollercoasters, and the same for Mean Streak. But anyhow. When Cedar Fair trademarked the name Steel Vengeance? The Coaster should have been renamed Mean Vengeance, simply for the fact, that when the lead green car was placed in the Dead Rides Cemetery Grave, the car wasn't placed in the grave, Upside Down, or facing Sideways. The car was at a 45° angle facing upward. So we all knew that the Coaster was coming back, but not with a Mean Streak, but with Vengeance. As in MEAN VENGEANCE!! Yes, the Mean Streak was converted into a Hybrid Rollercoaster, and we know about the story of, Chess, Blackjack, and Digger. But it would have still been Awesome if the 1st part of the Mean Streak name was kept to pay homage. Steel Vengeance is Awesome. But the name is pretty Lame. To this day, I refer to the name of the Coaster as Mean Vengeance.
