I love how Brennan was surprised but still clearly respected and was impressed by the first twist. Then the second one just absolutely shattered him.
I felt the exact same way at the second twist reveal
He thought it was a game twist, but suddenly they went through the looking glass, and he could not hang, lol.

It likely surprised him even more given that he filled in for Grant being sick, and the crew had to make Brennan’s bingo card within an hour.
I think because in a way he felt like he still won in a weird way. Then it turns out Trapp wasn’t the winner.

The fact that Sam Reich said that Grant was supposed to be here, and Brennan was a last minute addition and they made his bingo card in AN HOUR AND HE STILL WAS THE ONE THAT GOT BINGO, is just, honestly kind of disturbing on how much everyone else knows him (and how possibly predictable he is). That must be existentially horrifying.

@@thatshirleylee It was in the #live-discussion channel on the Dropout Discord server! Grant tested for Covid when he arrived on-set so Brennan had to swoop in and replace him, just like he did when Raph couldn't do it on Like A Cucumber.

I love that what really caused Brennan to lose it wasn't just knowing that he was part of the game that made someone win, but that the actual real winner was playing the person who was playing him. It's a level of ego destruction akin to cosmic horror.
The funny part is that it isn't even the person who was playing him that won. Jess was playing Rekha, who was playing Raph. Brennan was not in the chain of command for the ultimate winner

@@tyleryoast8299 at first Brennan was sad he lost, but at least he could say he was responsible for someone winning. But when he found out the real winner was someone else and it he wasn’t even part of the victory, that broke him.
Upon realizing that Trapp won Bingo from him, Brennan became defeated. Upon realizing that Jess won Bingo from her, Rekha became ecstatic. This polarity in reactions is exactly what I like to see in the two factually best game changer contestants.
I was too fixated on Lily’s drop and Brennan’s despair, but oh boy watching Rekha ecstatic that she had facilitated the win is incredible
@@BPTK162 Apparently she had guessed this? It's hard to parse from the audio, but it sometimes sounds distinctly like she's saying she at least suspected it. Which is awesome.

1:31 I think demonstrates Reason #2 of what Brennan likes about Trapp. He's still put in the situation where he realizes he's also been played, but still manages to straight-man a joke. "I know I've also been duped, but if you say you're sweating a river, then I can mark another thing on my bingo board."
The greatest finale in all of GameChanger, no question. Escape the Green Room was what got me to subscribe to Dropout in the first place, and this one blows that out of the water. I really hope they resubmit, I think with Dropout maybe having a slightly renewed resurgence (fantasy high junior year, their just announced liveshow in Madison Square Gardens, all the new shows, the 5yr anniversary in general) they might have a better chance

I am starting to think that it is not about messing with Brennan specifically, its just Brennan is more “attuned” to Game Changer style fuckery.

Can we all just appreciate how much Trapp and Brennan sync in both ways? Like Trapp really knew how to get Brennan going and Brennan really sang all praises for Trapp in an earlier prompt. This is why even if Brennan was a last minute addition, Trapp technically still got his bingo first!

When I saw the twist of the episode I audibly said “ITS BINGO ALL THE WAY DOWN!” One of the best episodes of the show I think

Fun fact! It was revealed in the Dropout discord, that Brennan was a sub for Grant!
Grant had tested positive for COVID, so they had an hour to make a whole new bingo board that's all Brennan themed.

The stamp Trapp used was Grant as well, they hid the live version and edited the close ups with a Brennan stamp after the initial shoot.
To be fair, Brennan is fairly predictable, and even he knows it. Remember when he had to imitate an AI version of himself? 😂 (I say this not as an insult, but with all the love in the world. Consistency isn't bad!)

This was a fuck with EVERYONE episode.
Absolute 10/10
Brennan wasn't even supposed to be in this episode. Grant caught COVID and they needed a last minute replacement. Trapp's stamp was actually still Grant's face, which is why he doesn't turn around his board at the end.
The fact that he wasn't the specific target of the fucking seems to have hit Brennan even harder.
six people got fucked with, but 3 of them got double fucked, so its more like 12 people got fucked with this episode.
I was with Lily when the third group came out, all fours screaming
Brennans realization that his plotting and theorizing to win was all for naught and just for others to win instead and for Sam's entertainment, is one of the highlights of Dropout I think.

You can pinpoint the moment Brennan realises that Sam, once again, has designed a game which he cannot win
Brennan just realized that being trapped in Sam's world means there are no rules you could possibly try to comprehend. It's infinite levels of pure chaos, all the way down, until you are completely broken, and no player can ever stand a chance to make sense of it, much less survive it with their psyche intact.

1:18 this is a perfect summary of Game Changer in general.

These episodes really do make it feel like sam has a personal vendetta against brennan in particular

Six people suffered this Loop-De-Loop trickery Brennan just took it harder than most
The general rule of Game Changer is that it's not everyone against each other but Sam against everyone. Brennan knows this rule better than anyone else, so Sam has declared psychological warfare on him.
One Brennan thing I love is that Trapp "winning" off prompts like "monologue for 10+ seconds" and the existence of the second loop-de-loop pulled on other players meant that it was comedically a bad move to deliver a Brennan typical monologue or sign-off.
And while I'm not sure if they did the Second Place episode before this one it's fun for us that he gave us a speech about how game changer players are constrained by their comedic instincts.
Breaking down like this was pretty much the only thing for Brennan to do.
I don't know how Sam and the crew keep coming up with genius ideas, but they get more and more unhinged, clever, and diabolical with each episode, and I love it!
It's a shame they can't replicate this episode. Because all future cast members will be aware. Best game changer episode by far!

i was worried at the start of this episode that this was just gonna be sam says but with a twist, then that fear was completely alleviated, and then that fear was completely stomped into the ground and set on fire
Season 6 of Game Changer is just Sam psychologically tormenting his friends
To quote a particular episode of Make Some Noise: "Whatever this fugue state over here is..."
The fact that someone on the third level won first so they just let Trapp think he won up until the double rug pull was beautiful.
It was brilliant too, they set it up slightly to help the players in the third room win, because they had more of a direct influence on their targets by having the PA tell them what to do, vs the written prompts.

I’m a bit disappointed there wasn’t a 4th bingo group, just to be maximum inception, but I know it would have been too hard to make it (having players, finding new prompts, maybe filming place too…) it would have been extra but maybe too much.

I feel like on some level the viewers are the 4th bingo group, watching and betting on all of them as playthings for our amusement as Rekha said lol that felt like a 4th wall breaking moment
It probably would have been too much but what I would have loved to have seen was a 4th group that Sam didn't know about all just watching stuff Sam was doing.
I've rewatched this moment and one of my favorite details is Sam's excited shout of "Yeah" when he makes his first reveal and his absolutely psychotic shrieks of "YES" whrn he makes the second

What I loved about this episode is that all three groups were playing different variations of Bingo. You've got the traditional bingo, then you've got the streamer/youtuber variation where they watch for _player-specific_ occurrences to mark off, and then you've got the third group which was a mixture of the two: specific actions, but everybody has the same card.
I love how both Brennan and Trapp responded the same way when they realized what had happened

When someone commented on the short that it was 3 layers deep, I thought they were just joking. This is amazing.
Yep, I knew after the first short that this wasn't just the 3 on stage but somehow multiple layers of Bingo happening all at once.
I'm only saddened by the fact that Sam's wife wasn't in another part of the stage ALSO playing based on the 3 in the second layer doing things to make it true Bingo-ception.
I don't know how they do it, but Gamechanger's ingredients are fresh every single time, even when the episode depends on dependability. Dropout is the best! 😂😂😂

I've seen no more than 2 minutes of this episide yet this is somehow most chaotic thing I've witnessed.
Literally went and watched the episode because of this, and Trapp not even being surprised that there was a double twist is so funny. Just pure "I should have known" energy from this man. Fantastic.

It gets even better: ALL of them will be future contestants and will always be paranoid of hidden games-within-games. And for a professional DM like Brennan, this is mind-blowing stuff that he WILL re-use.
It's such a triple hit for Brennan, first that the game is over without ever being able to win, then to learn he was just a pawn in someone else's game and that he was the most predictable, and then to learn that he ultimately wasn't even important to the true victory of the game
Brennan upon realizing that he is two miniverses deep is priceless.
