This video is a bit inaccurate on the Muhammad situation: the "Super Best Friends" episode was made before most people outside the religion were aware of a taboo against depicting him, and thus the episode aired without incident. It wasn't until years later that, due to a controversy over political cartoons featuring Muhammad, the taboo became a publicly known topic of discussion, and thus the episode was pulled from redistribution out of fear of retroactive backlash. The majority of the controversy began with a later episode, which was, ironically, about Family Guy getting backlash for announcing they were going to depict Muhammad. They even joke about how the kids once met Muhammed, and nobody seemed to care at the time.

It's amazing...I am a 53 woman...who by now should not be addicted to cartoons....even grownup cartoons....but all I have to see are the words South Park....doesn't matter what words follow... I will stop what I am doing and see what it's all about. There's just something about the South Park cast and their antics, that can turn an otherwise miserable day into a good day. It is my favourite show, and I'm not afraid to admit it!

Old guy and OG Southpark fan here to correct you. Super Best Friends stayed up and was available until AFTER episode 200 was originally aired. 200 was not a response to backlash towards them, but more just trying to be as offensive as possible for their 200th episode. It was in response to the backlash and subsequent censorship of episode 201 that they started mentioning that Super Best Friends had a more graphic depiction of mohammad and had been up for years with no issue. Then Comedy Central took it down.
This may have also been to push DVD sales, as all of these episodes appear unedited (aside from 201's pre-release censorship is still on DVD) on the DVD release for the regions that aren't majority muslim.

So yeah if its okay to depict religious figures then youre not being extremely magnanimous in not protesting them depicting GOD or Jesus but since its strictly for bidden for Muslims it is our right to protest it and demand its removal cuz its offensive on a whole other level than just a joke. Of course no terrorist organization should be able to kill them over this. Murder for such a thing is BS AND AGAINST ISLAM. They obviously dont deserve to die for this and their punishment is not in human hands. Its Allahs will. But if they had done it it would have been a very grave insult and be done out of pure spite not just as a 'joke'.

I know this is an old episode, but the Super Best Friends was not lost, and was included on the unrated DVD releases. It's nt censorship, as censorship only applies to a government agency removing free speech or expression, and Comedy Central was not government. They just didn't want terrorists actually going after Trey and Matt, because yeah. They actually had more of a problem with Scientology. A lot of what they did was trolling. They really had no intention of angering extremists. Also it was not likely the extremists cared really. The short episodes were on the web site too. Most of the DVD releases did have some changes, but most were uncut and not censors. It would be more chilled speech than censorship.

I have a Rowan Atkinson special I recorded off Comedy Central in 1998 that contains all the commercials and i swear to god it contains a bumper for a scene/episode that never aired. I have seen every episode of Season 1 & 2 many times and I swear the clip I have is not in any episode.

I remember when I was a huge fan of South Park I found out all this information on my own. I looked to see if I could find any lost media about South Park. I'm so happy you did a video, it's like I'm reliving my research all over again.

The original Stick of Truth trailers seemed so cool. It felt like a game for South Park nerds like me. The final game was still really good, but it felt like a shallow tribute at times with the references and gags.
Also what about Cartman's dad and sister? In the original Pilot, there was a going to be originally a dad and sister for Cartman, but was cut due to time and apparently the creators kind of rolled with it....

I live in Colorado and have been to the actual South Park many times and I can say it’s one of the smallest, most boring towns I’ve ever been. You think they’d take the chance to turn their town into a tourist attraction because, you know, the opportunity is there, but they definitely didn’t, and if you weren’t looking for it, you could pass South Park without ever even knowing it haha
I really wish that South Park GTA/Simpsons Hit & Run style game got finished, or that another company picks up the abandoned project and starts developing it again in the future. It looks like it would've been a pretty cool game.
