A story/context in case you want it:
Heather likes the same person as Conan, but after seeing them looking happy together she lets go of hoping to be with them. When she walks by she is letting herself look at them one last time before she puts her feelings aside.
Heather feels like most people see her superficially and she wants someone to see she's more than just pretty. Unsure if she's reading into the meaning of the sweater they gave her, she wants to ask them if they like her. As they get closer, she sees how Conan watches them together and remembers what it felt like seeing them with him. Heather knows that they like both of them but is sad because she doesn't know which one they like better and knows one of them won't end up happy.
