    I seriously cannot wait for this game to come out, the artwork looks absolutely gorgeous. The game designer explaining the rules made this video way more awesome too!

    I love Century Spice Road and I can’t wait for this one. I just thought I would say that the designer has an awesome voice, he should do commercials or announcing.

    looking at progression, the 3rd game will be Century 18xx with stock trading added to the list ... yay!

    Even a game's designer can forget to mention that you can move on
    your turn or have a cube-holding limit until he gets to the relevant
    upgrade tiles and that VP tokens are replaced when they are taken,
    leave it unclear whether you can trade immediately upon placing a
    trading post, or just leave out that building where another player
    already has a post is more expensive and that you have to pay
    others to do anything where they are. [Actually, you always move,
    then choose another action to take.]

      I read the rules today and everything is detailed. What are you talking about?

  • @markbain8366
    @markbain8366 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    They didn't explain how/when you might pick up the cubes that get played during movement. Do you get them when you "harvest" or when you place your "house"? Some other way? Just curious.

    I hope that they do a Golem edition!

    • @johncoombes3260
      @johncoombes3260 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not likely, the golem edition came about from before the theme for the game had been finalised and they had this artwork that was left over so did a special edition using up the art they had commissioned but not used. Now the theme for the Century series has been decided Plan B has said it would be unlikely that they do the same for this and the third game in the line due out in 2019, anything can happen though.

      I'd rather they do a Golem expansion that takes a different and more appropriate/thematic route than the Spice Road expansion.

    It’s amusing that even the designer refers to the cubes by their colours instead of turmeric and coffee or whatever they are supposed to represent.

      usually the designer come up with the mechanics of the game, the theme is applied later on by the publisher.

    Wow, that must have been awesome to be there while the designer explained the game. I hope to have an experience like that some day.

    I love Century Spice Road very much, but please understand for those of us that are color blind, these are the worst possible color combinations....

    One question I have that i don't think was addressed: Is there a limit to how many players can build a trading post on each island?

    • @TheLuminousCleric
      @TheLuminousCleric 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, but each player can have only one trading post on a market tile.

  • @Kindlesmith70

    They didn't learn? Red/Green are terrible colors for us colorblind folks. I gave my copy of century away because it was impossible to tell the cubes apart, and the trying to tell the color on the cards wasn't any easier. Disappointed they didn't make a change there. It DOES look like they changed the shades of the colors so i'm hoping i'll be able to play this one, just don't see why they couldn't change the colors.

    • @pauk.w
      @pauk.w 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ben Cartier they couldn't change the colours because all three games need the same colour cubes. If they were to change the colours it would cause all kinds of problems, not least how to convince everyone who already has Spice Roads to buy the game again in a different colour scheme. Its a shame, but there's no real way out now.

    • @Templarkun
      @Templarkun 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      hmm, it does look a lot better than original. It makes a big deal of what green and red hue they are using, so this one looks pretty good. (colorblind here)

    • @PandaOfElastic
      @PandaOfElastic 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That wouldn't help with the cards/tiles, which would still have red and green cubes on them.

    • @EgeTunca
      @EgeTunca 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Seriously, get a marker draw a shape on each of the cubes that you mix. Problem solved...

  • @TheLuminousCleric

    To me, this game feels too much like Istanbul. It's all about path optimization.

  • @Vysetron
    @Vysetron 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Red/green? Seriously? They learned nothing from Century. Pass.
