My advice in those ranks. Learn to block and punish. You don’t even need a bunch of moves and mix ups. In fact most of what he is talking about here won’t help you because people at that lvl just mash. Learn a 10, 12 and 14 frame punish. That’s all you really need to get to purple.
I think you have switched, its cds that can cancel into ff3, not zen and check Jin school, there might be a few things in there that you may find interessting

You still can block 10f moves with zen cancel, you just have to cancel into neutral guard (zen -> df -> ub -> neutral). Haven't blocked a jab but have blocked a dick jab. It is very hard tho Edit: nvm canceling it into neutral isn't necessary. You just have to be really precise on both df input and ub
I've only used this effectively once in a match with Claudio. I was able to bait a hopkick and punish. It felt so good but it's super hard to incorporate.
The changes they made to him are just strange to me, zen cancels being perhaps the strangest. Like if they want to make it a bit more challenging, then fair enough, but they also make it slower which doesn't make sense to me. I don't understand why you can't wave dash out of breaking step. I get that his launching HS was kind of infuriating to deal with, so taking its launch property is fine with me. But he already had CD4, 3... so why give him CD4, 2? Why does d3 4 3 exist? Where does this fit into my game plan? WS1, 2f having such lackluster frames makes something that COULD be a really cool tool into something that will almost never see any actual use. Not having 1, 3~3 and thus not having ff3, 1, 3~3df doesn't seem like something that NEEDED to be removed for balancing. Overall design choices to have really flashy flips and what have you, to make him more like DJ, only to still include DJ, is weird to me. Giving him crazy ghost range on ff2? Why? Changes to his HS, his parry, universally downplaying counter hit launchers across the roster, things that make him less OP are fine. I'd like to not seem like a tier whore for playing Jin. It's the weird quality of life stuff that they made worse that is frustrating. I only played a little T6, but I thought he was bursting at the seams with style in that game, even though I put zero effort into learning how to play the game. I came back during season three, I think, of T7 and really started appreciating his play style more, and getting better at using him. Then now that T8 changed him a fair bit, I feel kind of underwhelmed. It feels like he's gotten easy enough to use that he doesn't require finesse to use anymore. He's the closest to the old Jin we have though, and it's not like he's been completely overhauled, double parry into can can is still ultra satisfying, and as NSK showed me: 2+3 cancel into f3, 1 is practically the new Wombo Combo lol
@@ZeroKasa NonStop Kyo had a short 10 days ago that showed it. I've had mixed results from links in YT comments, but it should be easy to find, "NSK wombo combo" should bring it up. You go into heat, and when you're in the cancel animation, the opponent will rush over to punish you, f3 1 launches since you're in heat.

You cant cancel CDS into ➡️➡️3️⃣ but you can cancel Zen into ➡️➡️3️⃣.
Also you can cancel stance breaker into ↗️2️⃣. I find this useful quite often

Set p2 to punish on action 2 with jab not duck jab as it takes extra frames to perform that, after, try to perfect cancel a f4~zen
