I love these SBF builds. I think that the 351 Windsor family of small blocks have huge potential. Personally, I love then 427 tall deck builds with 4.125 bore and 4.0 stroke. The Windsor small bock should have never been discontinued. They could have brought the tall deck out and competed with GM's LS family of engines.
I have never been a Windsor fan, or 385 fan. I love 335/Cleveland and FE ford's. I do like the early Cammer too. I'm currently building a 462 MEL engine (cool design)
That'd be nice. Price of retooling for that? What a black eye for Bill Mitchel not to have the best flowing 18 bolt heads. With sister companies that produce GREAT heads.
Hi Brent nice build, should make some big hp,have you used a Tim Mayer TrackBoss block as yet, love to see a build on one of those blocks,if in the future you build one, please video it
Happy New Year! Not familiar with this Man O' War block. Can't wait to see this build. I run a 460 well built 73 block and D3Ve heads. Gonna try a Edelbrock Top End Kit this springs If I can get one (shipping issues). Eventually want to swap out the 460 for a W351 build for more room and less weight. Thanks for sharing! Blessings from Motown.
Hi mate iv purchase 2 sets of cam bearings from summit at separate times both sets have faulty coating have you ever seen this Dur 351hpt, do you have any other part numbers suited for the 351w 9.5 man owar Alc or clevite
True, thanks. Detailed work. Is it worth going to such methods of displacement, rather than using a 385 build.? must be worth it or it wouldn't be done!@@lykinsmotorsports
I guess I don't understand class rules yadda......but why would anyone do this in 2021? I built a Cleveland for bracket racing back in the 90's, and the machinist said I could have built a BBC for less money and more HP.....and he was right. The Cleveland lore centered around Bob Glidden doing massive surgery to 4V Cleveland heads.....unless you rev them close to destruction, it's nothing special......and really expensive to do that very many times. And the four bolt mains thing is crazy, and I mean CRAZY wrong.....main caps walking was a thing in NASCAR......doesn't happen in drag racing, only endurance engines......complete BS
Awesome! Can't wait to see more of this build. It sounds like pretty much my dream engine.
Thanks bro you're awesome 👍

The block has been the same 9.480/9.5 deck height since 1969. It's only "tall" compared to the Cleveland at 9.2".
What tall deck? 😂

I have used the same cam bearing tool for years. Just ordered the hydrologic one. Fingers crossed.
That block looks solid af. What hp are they rated too
Great video as always, this kind of thing takes a lot of time and patience!!!!
Excellent video! Excited to see the final product. I currently have a 408 Clevor and love it.
Love the 18 bolt cylinder head option. Aftermarket needs to step up and produce more of these heads for the power adder guys.

Good job with the ford build !!! Have fun with your new Christmas toy !!!!
Been waiting on this one. Thanks.
Looks like my Ford 4.2 v6 block. Real 🍖. 👍

Hello Brent, Thanks so much. 464 with a 4.250 stroke; is that a 4.170 bore? Is man-o-war iron block okay at that bore size?
That's going to be a great build. What is it going in?

Thanks for the info. Shame they never put Clevland heads on a series 385!
It would have been a detriment! The 385 series heads are equivalent for the displacement and almost look exactly the same!

What heads have the 6 bolt pattern for that block

Prep stage 1, throw it in the trash.
Prep stage 2, close the trash.
You posted on the wrong video, mate. This is a Ford video, not a Chevy.

I see your comment as trolling, so I won't take time to address it unless you are genuinely asking questions. Otherwise, I wish you a Happy New Year.
Tall decks, evenly spaced ports, and a tidy package compared to a BBC. What's not to like?
