- As a graduation present, my wife and I took a trip to New Zealand for a month.
We couldn't resist bringing our Epic camera, as we just got our new Canon mount, and our first Canon lens. We didn't shoot much as we were out enjoying the country, but what we did get we figured we would share here on TH-cam. (Katie's note: There was lots of hikes where we packed the camera in with us and then forgot to film because we were having a good time. What a beautiful place!)

I'm from New Zealand, and this video has shown me just how beautiful my country can be if I just stop and have a look around me. its a shame that I take everything around me for granted
After almost a year of travelling in New Zealand it's amazing to recognize almost all of these places you filmed. Great job of capturing NZ Nature and the feeling it has to it.

Man, this is EXACTLY how i've wanted it my parents don't understand why i want to move across the world but for some reason i just want to go to New Zealand live alone with a dog and go into town ever once in awhile. I'm just happy to see someone with the same mindset.
Haha. My parents think I will become 'lonely' if I was by myself. I am an introvert. I would rather be alone than have friends to be honest. Well, maybe not. Just friends that don't annoy the shit out of me and respect how I live and why.

I don't know how tha hell, but I have only 1080p monitor and I can see difference between 4k and fullHD.
Placebo maybe?
It's because it makes the pixels in the streaming more condensed, but it really isnt displaying it in those resolutions. But.. on my 1440p monitor it looks insane.
Same here, looks much better than most 1080p.

I have 1440p screen and I do notice a subtle difference; everything is more defined and sharper
This video has been consistently making me tear up for 11 years now. The imagery and choice of music... Just... Man. Especially based on the description, I know this wasn't a video you guys poured a ton of work into, but for some random schlub you will never meet, this video has meant a whole lot. I remember showing my dad (he's 72 now) this when it came out and we were blown away by the imagery. I just looked up "4k video" one day randomly. Didn't expect the video I clicked on to be something I'd revisit for over a decade. Cheers, hope to god you and your wife are happy and healthy.

Is impossible to enjoy 4k in 1080p monitors...right?
No, it it not.. when you choose 4K option, even on 1080p display it would be better than if you chose 1080p option because of higher bitrate, TH-cam doesn't allow so high bitrate with 1080p option than with 2160p option..

150% cpu usage is impossible...
I now. My computer could only run this video at like 5fps.
Christian Johnson-Richards It's based on a PER cpu usage, so if you have 4 CPU cores 150% is using one and a half cores. Or under 50% of total power as the 4 cores would give you up to 400% usage.
You have a terrible computer then. I watched this while using sony vegas 12 and got %40 usage.
