Thank you for posting! I think the couple at 0:43, 1:00-1:06, 2:15-2:20 is Phyllis (nee Stuart Murray) and Alfred Headington. I also think the lady at 1:07 who also appears later is Phyllis' aunt possibly Florence Talbot.
@TheDrbananaslug Just asking, I searched up the name Alfred Headington, and it seems from the Wartime Civilian Dead list, he died during the Battle of Hong Kong. Is this him?
This footage is important. The man in the glasses seen dancing in this footage is very familiar. I feel that he might have been an HKVDC member during the war.
Andrew, this movie includes my 3 aunts in the white dress's singing and dancing outdoors. The family name was Swaine and the 3 girls were, Maureen, Maude and Margaret. Would your grandfather have know the family?
My father knew the three sisters, from Shanghai I was told.Several years ago I have given a copy in DVD to John Swaine. Yesterday I have also sent a longer version of the video of the three girls to Gladys, my sister's classmate. I would like to know more about them, pls contact me at andrew.tse@me.com
Interesting.
These were the Eurasian community back in the 1930s. They're enjoying good life back then.
