RAHU
Externally, Rahu signifies people from outside the community, people who are not part of the ordinary social structures, eccentrics, people who are unpredictable and untraceable. Physically, Rahu would co-signify the same parts as Saturn. Internally, Rahu represents desires, and the tendency to identify oneself with external objects. It represents impulsive thoughts and behaviour, and the ability to passionately pursue goals in the most crafty ways. Qualities signified by Rahu: passionate, impulsive, hard to contain, wild, intelligent, tricky, illusionary, fake, smoky. Determining what objects are signified by Rahu: Rahu signifies things that are illusionary in nature, or parts that are of foreign nature, not truly fitting in.
KETU
More qualities of the Externally, Ketu signifies people who are mysterious, who hold abstract or incomprehensible views, who do not show their true identity, spies, mathematicians, people who have flashes of insights, inventors. Physically, Ketu would co-signify the same parts as Mars. Internally, Ketu represents detachment, and the ability to contact subtle and powerful states of the mind. Experiences of higher states of consciousness at its best, and delusions at its worst are signified by Ketu. Qualities signified by Ketu: sudden, unforeseen, subtle, abstract, universal, intelligent, insightful, psychic. Determining what objects are signified by Ketu: Ketu signifies things that are abstract in nature, or things that are falling apart or disappearing.

I agree with the rahu concept, a head with no body therefore never satisfied. During my rahu antardasha I would receive unexpected wealth but it always result to later being unsatisfied and wanting more leading to my downfall.
This is the best video I have watched regarding this placement. I have stayed away from non-veg food, smoking, alcohol etc as I always felt I could get seriously addicted - so I consciously avoid them. My speech has become more fiery in the past few years though so I need to control that. What you said about not knowing one's own needs, and falling into self-destructive habits is absolutely true. I'm unaware of what I want & it's funnier because Rahu is my atmakaraka! I have found the world of astrology & devotion rather easy to navigate. But making money? That freezes me up! God knows why! I have this placement in my Kundali. But i always stayed away from alcohol (very few times social drinking) and dont eat much of non vegetarian food. People always say that im good to be around them and i make friends easily but dont usually last friendship with them. I prefer to stay alone mostly so that may be the reason. Even after this i have few very good friends with me.

I liked watching this video; simultaneously I was trying to better read my own chart but somehow I am not able to properly make sense of it. I have the same placement, i.e. Rahu in 2nd house of Aries and Ketu with Saturn in 8th house of Libra. The dispositor of Rahu is debilitated and combusted conjucting Sun in 5th house. While 5th house receives aspect of debilitated and retrograde Jupiter placed in 11th house. Subconsciously, I feel being materialistically driven. However, I find myself struggling too hard and ultimately being low-yielding as it is supposed to be.

But my Rahu is at 2° in Libra and it's closer to Venus which is in 1st house at 29° Virgo. Mars is at 25° in Libra. Does this mean that Venus affects Rahu more than Mars does? I do try to help people around as much as I can. Not so much to impress though. That's just who I am. Always think on humanitarian grounds. A lot of times in my office, when a person doesn't do well in other teams, they come in my team as last chance :D. Just cannot fire anyone no matter how they are performing. :D

I share these placements. Ketu with moon brings lots of anxiety and stress. I would recommend to treat the anxiety of your kid as not baseless but with kindness. Rahu mahadasha was very hard on me and I felt very alone even from my family.
