Really a shame that this band broke up. They were on a roll musically, and Wavering Radiant was amazing, with this track being among their best. I want more!

Ik this is 4 years old, but they didn’t break up. When starting out they made a promise not to drag the band’s life longer than it needed to be. Do go out with dignity rather than fade away. When they announced they were done they stated that everything they wanted to say had been said with their music. I think that’s to be respected.

@@aertainhypocrite5836 highly agree. While extremely depressing to me that they broke up, I cant blame them for ending on a GREAT note. Unlike several of my favorite bands like mastodon and opeth who kind of changed their styles each in their own respective way. Its cool, but not for me. Long live ISIS.

By this period Aaron had gone full caveman - and it was AWESOME.

the buildup to the crescendo toward the end of the piece is simply an incredible goose-bump inducing pleasure...

If you like that, you should check out some of King Crimson's best, like Starless, from the album Red, or all the instrumental tunes on The Power To Believe.

Goddammit they quit as soon as he developed a perfect balance of brutality and beauty in his vocals. FUCK.

Aaron Turner doesn't even look human at this point. He's just a neanderthal. Around 6:15, when he hits that legato, that's great. What a great live band. Wish I could have seen them.

I think it was too soon when these guys split! Wavering Radiant was a masterpiece, but I felt like they could release an album like that again and evolve the sound they make even further. Now I know that I'll never see the day I could go see Isis Live :'( R.I.P. Your music will never get stale

Saw these guys live with my dad when I was 16, went to see them and Tool up in Manchester NH I think in October of 2006. Was definitely one of the better shows I've ever been to. Talk about 2 epic bands to get to see in one show, when many people have never been lucky enough to see either one let alone both. Really loved the direction these guys seemed to be going with their last 2 albums but especially the last one. Just wish they'd at least done 1 or 2 more records before they hung it up for good. But I don't blame them if they wanted to go out on a high note rather than try dragging things on when way past their prime like too many musicians tend to do.

@EuanKiwi After seeing Jacob play w/ Isis on that tour I quickly bought all of their albums. Now they are my favorite band.

Gotta disagree with you, but all three bands are incredible! If you haven't already check out Russian Circles, Pelican, Ocean, and Jakob. All of them are incredible and each give me hope for the future of Post-Metal.

Cult of Luna have spent their lives wishing they could be as original and creative as Isis. And judging by their catalogue, it's not fairing so well.

For me its even worse, I discovered them (their last record, to be exact, which I love) only after they did a show in my country during their last tour. That FUCKING SUCKS...

That's fine with me. I just can't stand bands that I find uninspired and dull (including those you've mentioned, unfortunately) being associated with Isis based upon what I consider to be shallow criteria. People lump them together on the basis of "they use downtuned guitars and have buildups", and it's absolutely infuriating to me.

interesting watching the string finger movements, I figured out most SGNL5 (haha) material in regular tuning yet I see Aaron and Mike high on the neck for many chord positions...
