    I've just installed fogs in my ILX and this video helped. I ran the power extension wire through the grommet and put in on the fuse panel for the DRL's to keep it from being constant on. Good video.

    You actually don't have to drop the dash to put the switch in. You can use a flat head and push up the clips on the false switch from behind if you don't mind being a bit cramped. I'd also recommend running through the firewall and poking a hole in that grommet just avoid the wires. I did this for my sub install and it was much cleaner. You could also take a couple minutes to remove the pins from the connector, so you don't have to cut a giant hole in the grommet for the firewall. Kick panel is also a bitch to get back in place, so I don't blame you for not wanting to remove it lol.

    @7:34 good advice to all but the whole panel will just pop off only clips holding it in place.
    Do not pull it out any further or you will brake off the locking tab to the plug behind dimmer switch. (extremely thin and easy to break if you pull too far)
    Recommend to reach back there and disconnect it then continue to remove the panel if needed.
    Don't ask how I know lol

    Be careful where you ran the wires through the grommet. I did the same this weekend for my subwoofer but when you open and close the door there is a risk of it getting pinched. There is a grommet behind the battery that is a safer option. You do have LED fogs. I did some researching and instead of buying that kit, I got OEM fogs, and aftermarket harness, and I have a guy building an adapter to convert from the halogen harness to the LED plug. Cost around $150. Also, I plan on running the positive wire to the cabin fuse box and use a wire tap. Running directly to the battery can cause battery drain.

    • @717PROJECT
      @717PROJECT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was worried about that as well. I ran it behind the hinge, so I think I'm good. From the lights on the diagram didn't look like LED. But yes, they are, thank god. That's not a bad idea to run the wires that way. Appreciate the comment, Thank you!

      My Mexican friend asked me if he should get a new Honda Civic, and which one. I replied, "Si" 😉
      *I actually love the new Si, the fact that the Canadian spec version has all the Sport Touring goodies for less that the US version without it, sucks. But the Si is just too overkill for me, unless I could have it as a second toy car. The Sport Hatchback is perfect for what I want and need as a daily driver. I already am considering a possible second vehicle as the Fird Maverick XL pickup with the 250 horsepower 2.0L Ecoboost engine. It's pretty fast if you need it, abd the base trim XL with the retro steelie wheels looks good, with lots of nice colors. I like the metallic looking Velocity Blue. I just need FWD and with the options and accessories I want, that's about $28K, but a lot of goodies on that list.

    It would be pretty cool if someone came out with a kit with smoked lenses that looked like the OEM filler panels with video/photo cameras for lower viewing perspectives for safety, getting license plates, and see things on the ground and under cars. But I don't know who would want or need something like that. *cough*
    I am seriously thinking about mounting emergency strobe lights there to match the rear sequential ones for more emergency hazard flasher illumination. That would be useful for me. The HPD patrol officers with their private vehicles aften add strobes to their existing lights to suppmrment their removable roof mounted blue strobe light bar and of duty without those.

    Good vid... very helpful... no one mentions that you need to verify which harness you have and which kit though because the one I have, while similar, has a few differences. Also, it would be helpful to know that you will need to adjust the projection angle of the lights... I installed mine while watching this video several times over and they ended up pointing higher than the headlights so I have to go in and adjust them. Simple fix but if you do it before you button everything back up it will be even more simple. PS I did mine WITHOUT REMOVING THE BUMPER. It can be done but is a bit more difficult.

    That's a nice kit, especially with the factory type switch for the dashboard. They look pretty vright,ike as id they are factory LEDs compared to the headlights. At lot of work, but maybe not as much as the DRLs. Too bad you can't install the foglights without removing the bumper. Ditto for the rear sequential turn signals.
    I will probably just get those above, front and rear, and not the DRLs, plus the rear turn signal and reverse light and license plate bulbs.
    The more I think of the potential problems with the turbo 1.5L engine, moonroof, power adjust seats and such down the road with higher mileage, the more I like the Sport Hatchback with the more basic functional stuff and more agressive blackout appearance.
    I can upgrade the factory speakers, amp, subwoofer, and maybe DSP processor, etc, and it will be easy to work on. And Crutcfield sold the Alpine bolt in kit for the previous Civics and Accords with an amp, powered subwoofer that fit under the right front seat that might be compatible or even updated. I might look into that.
    We have the #1 automotive window tint business in the nation, the one I recommend, with other services snd products, and there are vinyl overlay decals for the steering wheel Honda emblem, with a grey one to match how I wpuld do the grille blem, and get the black factory rear emblems.
    If the Honda emblems on the wheel center caps are like the wheels for the previous 10th Generation, they are mounted with adhesive like the other emblems. I would get another set and have them painted grey to match the grille emblem.
    Nice black metal license plate frames and clear covers would complete my exterior to keep a stealth slmost OEM look with a K&N air filter replacement element, dual horn kit, 27Won front strut tower brace, and maybe those anodized underhood caps and dress up items.
    The new Vantrue dashcam and other interior additions would be gradual add ons.
    I have the Zagg Halo 58,500 mAh portable power back with emergency flashlight, 120V AC outlet w/ jumper cables. I would get the $100 BT Blue Driver scanner, and the $700 X-Tool 8B diagnostic scanner and all the other things I would carry that you should have.

      @@717PROJECT I was poking around on the Crutchfield and Rockford Fosgate and when I upgrade, I will probably get the RF Punch P600X4 or P409X4 amplifier, and 2 sets of Punch P165-SI 6.5" component speakers, with the heavy duty amp speaker wire kits abd speaker noise deadening kits. That should be great sound and decent bass, but those amps can ru 2 channel front, and the read channel as a subwoofer, and Kicker makes a 6.5" subwoofer that fits in the rear lower doors, so I could go with that option. Those amps and speakers should match well, and that is my favorite car audio amp and speaker brand, though I like many other brands like Polk Audio, Infinity, JL Audio, MB Quart, JBL, Alpine and others, but getting all RF midline and higher co ponents with the cutting edge advanced technologies should be around $1K depending which amp I get. And I don't mind spending that much for quality on something like the Honda Civic Sport Hatchback. Their amps put out a lot more sound than rated. I don't know what speakers and price range you are going to get, and if you are adding an amp, but Crutchfield us a great place to get them with guides, support, moubting accessories and tools, etc., for a good DIY.

    Love your vids. I actually went a bit different. I went to the Honda dealer got me 2020 Si fogs. Because those 2020 Si fogs have H8/H11 bulbs that you can remove. Anyways i went to the chevy dealer got me some pigtail connectors since they have a nice waterproof seal on them. Bought some 3000k yellow led bulbs. They look awesome

    Just bought my 11th gen as my first ever car and I'm totally noob especially with wiring. I've ordered the same kit on ebay and planning to do it on my own. Only thing I understand was the bumper removal and hiding/routing the cables. I've watched this probably 10x now I still can't understand how I would wire them lol somebody help me 😭

I had to go back and watch the video...lol! yellow to pink, red to brown, black to black and the white wire is for the blue lights. I hooked mine to a switch. Thats how it was wired up to mine. Yours could have different colored wire tho 🤷‍♂️

    Awesome vid, but I think the foglights needs some adjustments. Saw its not aligned when you went out of your garage. And saw in the unboxing part that there is a plastic screw where you can adjust it. Keep it up! Much love from the philippines 🇵🇭

    Can you not get these installed without removing bumper? How can you not reach them from underneath

    • @717PROJECT
      @717PROJECT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be possible I guess if you remove the wheel and fender liner. IMO, i think it would be easier to remove the bumper. You can see what your doing and trying to get to some of the screws out would be tough.

    • @717PROJECT
      @717PROJECT  ปีที่แล้ว

      I recommend it to make it easier on yourself. There are a couple screws for the filler that would be hard to reach if not. Bumper is easy to take off. Getting back in is a challenge.

      Kevin, do you have a test light? If so, pull out the harness from the back of the headlight. Turn on the headlights and use the tester to find which wire is the main bulb. Splice into that and you should be good. Obviously, connect your power and ground as well! Hope that helps. Appreciate the comment 🙏 Thank you
