    Only one thing makes me suspicious.
    Nox sensor measure nox concentration . Correct?
    Now how outlet sensor readings higher then inlet sensor. If sensors reading correct numbers outlet sensor can't read higher then front What producing the extra nox amount?😎 I think the problem in that case is the outlet nox sensor. I was checking my theory on two different truck with bad scr filter. Im not saying that scr box is functional and Im not saying outlet nox sensor replacement going to bring up efficiency. Only saying according the numbers in my experience if both sensor is good outlet sensor never higher than the inlet . But im not in the commercial truck repair business just a diagnostic and troubleshooting fanatics having fun help for my trucker friends.
    Watching every episodes and thank you for your hard work creating the videos. 🍻🍻

      In my instance, the tail pipe had heavy soot. Usually means the DPF may have issues even though you can complete a successful regen or the One Box may have an internal issue or failure.

      I think you misunderstood me and we r not the same page. Not trying to judge or question your decision . Also I not saying that 1box is functional.
      Only saying is outlet nox sensor IF working properly can not be higher then inlet sensor. Unless some small engine hiding inside the scr and puffing out nox.😃. Just think of the dddl low temperature regen for nox sensor drifting test . I hope no hard feelings because I have a loudmouth.✌️

    Works on 2016 dd15. Throws a code so dealer knows its been jacked with but truck runs fine. I forked the nox outlet harness loom and all. Have 2nd sensor in enclosure under my fridge in bunk. Almost Impossible to tell its bypasses by looking at things.
    It gets hot on its own thsts why its in a metal enclosure

    • @CarlosDieselElectric
      @CarlosDieselElectric  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The sensor on the outside is so the inlet reads one thing but the outlet sensor will rear clean air and the efficiency should almost be 100%.
      The DPF filters themselves don’t have to be serviced until the MCM or ACM says so.

  • @derpasaurusrex8335

    This is called a bypass. California does not like this. And ghg17 models have a setting that detects this and will derate immediately. Only works on epa10 and ghg14 models. 2010-2016. Best thing to do is disconect the metering valve on these the botom two pin injector on the Metering valve and run a regen to burn off def deposits. After a regen reconnect and perform the efficiency test. If the effeciency rises the one box has been cleaned. If not the one box/scr module has failed.

    Can you drive the truck like this? Not ideal or maybe legal, but in an emergency situation?

    • @CarlosDieselElectric
      @CarlosDieselElectric  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question, yes you can drive like this to get you where you have to go.
      If the efficiency is low or below passing, it could be a bad One Box, bad DPF or sensors. It isn’t illegal, again just helps you get from point A to point B.

    So the 1 box is done & the sensor is still good. Am I understanding that correctly?

    • @CarlosDieselElectric
      @CarlosDieselElectric  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      NOx efficiency needs to be 70% or higher. The outlet sensor should read around 50-60 PPM. If you have different readings you may have an issue with internal failure or soot may be pushing through. Look for any signs of soot at the outlet pipe

      According to Detroit they said the life of the One Box is around 650-700K miles. I have seen them last longer but I think it depends on maintenance history, idle time, City driving versus over the road.

      Check for any signs of soot in the exhaust pipe. You may have a compromised One Box that is allowing soot to pass through to the SCR and that will definitely give you a NOx efficiency low. Check you DEF quality.
