I found a new pantry to try this week and was fairly happy with it. They also had some clothing and household things to give away. I recued a 6ft long weaved rug they were going to throw away. It's perfect for putting in my dogs bed. He loves it. Also found a good thermal blanket for my wife. That chicken is perfect for many different fast meals.
As a mom in a blended family, I truly appreciate you thinking about your bonus nieces. So many children in blended families are unloved and often abused. God bless you and your family.
Thank you for your kind words. It is so important to be kind to everyone! I was so happy when I found out I was going to have more nieces and nephews, I love all children.
I'm so glad you are invested in teaching those children to read even though it's vicariously since you're their aunt and I'm glad to see that you don't care if there's a little brown skin girl on the cover of book which teaches those children that everybody is our people and that we're all equal no matter what race God bless you and all of your family oh and Happy holidays and God's blessing to all of you
Thank you, I truly believe reading and the love to read can be the greatest gift one can receive, I personally love to read and it has always been an escape from reality for me. I too believe that love see's no color... we are all equal and we should all love each other and all of our differences. Happy Holidays
Your tree is beautiful friend!!❤🎉 wonderful haul, we had a really good one this weekend too, they gave us 4 packs of boneless pork chops 4 to pack so 16 total and 5 packages of 2 pounds of pork taco meat ( we haven’t had this yet) so 10 pounds of it and one pound of turkey bacon, 3 cans of salmon, 3 cans of sliced pears, can of black beans, thing of Roman noodles, 2 pounds of cheddar cheese shredded, 8 apples, 8 sweet potatoes, 6 cucumbers, bag full of onions, 5 pounds of russet potatoes and carton of milk, bag of carrots so we were really blessed! ❤ have a great night friend and hugs!!❤🎉
Wow! You guys got an amazing haul!!! That’s fantastic!! 💖 Sounds like they really did load you up with some awesome items. I am so happy to hear that. Thank you, I really want to bring back the vintage feel of Christmas in my house. I will say we like the pork taco meat.
@ thank you!! That’s great I was worried about the pork if it was good or not! I had the bbq before but not the pork taco meat with seasoning on it or so it appears 😊
That is a fabulous tree. My grandma made all my Christmas balls. She got st Styrofoam balls and beads and made over 300 hundred. One Christmas my 2 sisters and I got them. I cherish them . I don't put them up anymore due to 2 naughty cats. Enjoy your holidays. Best wishes.
Thank you, and that is absolutely amazing to hear that you have them. I agree that with naughty cats sometimes you have to put up the special ornaments. Hope you have a wonderful holiday as well.
To help cabbages last longer -- Don't immediately cut them because the cut will start getting oxidized or moldy. First, use the large outer leaves for cabbage roll wraps by pulling them off. The following meals would need cutting. Save the tight leaves around the core for slaw or stir fries or mu shu using up leftovers. The core can be diced small and be eaten rather than throwing out. Cabbages, onions, carrots, potatoes, chayote and winter squash last the of vegetables so eat the vegs that don't last very long first like tomatoes, lettuce, summer squash, cucumbers and fresh green beans. Don't let food go to waste. Treat iceberg lettuce like cabbage pulling off the outer leaves then cutting the inside. If you can't get to vegs before they go bad, freeze, dehydrate or home can them. Putting them in the freezer takes no time and super easy to pull out a handful when needed. Also, think about what bits of vegs can be used where most people will throw them out. Are the seeds mature enough to at least try in a garden? Let them air dry in saucers on the counter. Winter squash seeds can be roasted and save out some raw seeds for the garden. Tomato and pepper seeds are ready for the garden. Onions and potatoes that have sprouted can be planted. Do a search for kitchen trash gardens. The nice paper dry onion skins, not the moldy ones, can be kept dry and run through a blender and used in chunky dishes. Peels can be frozen for broths. The liquids off cooked vegs and canned liquids can be frozen for broths. Garlic cloves and fresh ginger can be planted (I just pulled the ginger before it freezes this week). Fresh or frozen corn cobs make jelly that tastes like honey. The husks can be dried naturally and used for tamales. Corn silk and thin sliced ginger can become hot tea. I just thought about canned corn liquid would probably make jelly, too. Corn, green bean and carrot liquid makes gravy in a pinch. Use those liquids also in cooking rice and pasta. Pickle juice - use a cup or more in a pork roast in the crock pot, or to pickle a cucumber, or use it in potato salad when you're out of pickles.
The thing that pantries in our area all will tell you is that the food bank pantries churches and your food stamps aren't meant to be the main source of your weekly/ monthly groceries They're there to give you a hand up to supplement what youd otherwise do without because you cant afford the extras They arent meant to feed our families all week every meal from the food bank
Another tip - if you have thin cut bacon, it is hard (for me, ymmv) to cook without burning it. Just separate it from the package by twos leaving two pieces together. They will cook up as a bit thicker pieces so won't burn as easy. HTH. Of course, save that great grease for later use. Freeze any leftovers to use as crumbles.
She doesn't have a personal birthday amazon wish list, she does have some items on the one wish list we have posted that if purchased will be for her birthday. Thank you for asking.
My son-in-law is a truck driver. He worked all week this week and only brought home $5 this week after taxes and insurance. They are a family of 6. Needless to say they’ve had to sign up for food stamps.
Not entirely...the ones that provide meat, dairy, etc. actually provide enough food for a week's worth of meals for my family of 4. However, that's the only one I go to and not even every week. "Food bank hauls" are getting uncomfortably popular on YT and I'm convinced it's no more than content for SOME. Her videos often give me an idea of what my local food bank will offer and whether or not I need to take 2+ hrs out of the day to sit in line!
I visited my local food pantry today truly a blessing

Oh how awesome is that, I love to hear that you found a new food pantry to go to and that they offer household items as well.

Perhaps they started off not being meant to but unfortunately what happens to families who do need to use it that way?
❤😊
Happy birthday. food yummy.

Why yes, we had a wonderful Sunday.
Pretty Christmas tree 🌲 😊❤

I'd love to know what's in the box with the quilt can you show us in your next video
Why absolutely, I will show it to you all and show you what I did with some of it and go through my plans with the rest.
Just an idea (and maybe you've done this) but check with your utility company because they may offer a discounted rate based on need.
The LIHEAP (low income heating & energy assistance program) is now open in many areas, but the amount only comes available 1x per year!!
Does your daughter have an Amazon wish list ? ❤
