Well that sucks, but it will be fun for us to watch. Whoever ends up with this tractor should have a solid tractor front to back since there is hardly a bolt left unturned since it's resurrection.
Consider splitting the tractor before pulling the cab. I have seen the Hi-low shaft break in the front that can cause what you are seeing that can be replaced without pulling the cab. Just a thought. I had the same thing happen last spring to our 4850 a gear in the transmission broke out a tooth and locked up the transmission smashed 3 or four other gears a made a huge mess!

The 4960 is Tims Tractor ,, You can't sell it , It is a good backup tractor,,, It can run almost every attachment you use to make hay,, I don't know about the Krone hay baler,, probably not ??,,, But I think you only have 3 full cab tractors, 2 from over seas and The 4960,, I don't know anything except what I learned from watching all your videos a few times, to me it seems like the 4960 has been a great tractor with normal maintenance and mechanical problems from over 5000 acres of hay making,, I think keep it because, you might use the 4960 to save the day ,, if you need the money sell a few of your open cab tractors, that are rarely used,, From watching all your old videos till now ,, it seems to me that the 4960 has always been a important part of your hay making business
Please do a step by step video so everyone can look back at this video and can try to fix there tractors themself. Last fall our 4450 high gear PowerShift packs went out, and it needed new brakes. Cost 15k to have the dealer fix it. Half of that was labour.
I had a Case IHC that would stop on the road while hauling grain. Road speed to stopped in no time at all. Sliding drive tires O Boy. Empty wasnt as bad as loaded. After a few minutes stopped it would work normally again for a while. Took 3 rounds to act up so 3 hours. The service tech tracked it down to a pile of dirt on the brake parts (behind body panels) that held the brakes engaged slightly . Some compressed air with a 4 foot air wand fixed it . This is different.
Wes posibly lucky it threw the towel in at the start of your season and not halfway through and you still had not thinned your fleet out. But wouldn't wish this sort of failure on any farmer.
Hey Mr Pandy please make the videos longer like maybe 30 min minimum. When the poor people afflicted with short attention spans start crying tell them to just turn it off.
from what I understand if you have John Deere rebuild the transmission it cost $25,000 I know on the 4440 it's that way with the powershift transmission

@onelonelyfarmer On our farm, we use different colored zip ties to keep track of connectors. Works well on hydraulic hoses too!

Dont cross steering lines because it will steer backwards, I know from experience
