Hey Dex... I see that you've surpassed the 600 subscriber mark! Congrats! I enjoyed this video. However, there are two libraries (and free ones as well) that would lend themselves well to writing this... Librewave's Bell and Bone, and Project Sam's The Free Orchestra 2. TFO2 has a Film Noire category with a great upright bass and the drums typical of the genre, while Bell and Bone has several articulations that lend themselves to this, along with a variety of mutes that can be chosen. Take a look at both of them... you'll probably end up using them in another video. Cheers to you my friend!
Thanks for the heads-up on those libraries, I've used Project Sam before, but found them a bit odd. Maybe I need to try it again now I've got a dedicated reverb so only need close mic'ed sounds most of the time. I hadn't heard of Bell and Bone, so will give that a listen too. It's always nice to find new stuff... especially if it's free! Cheers Jim :)
