A problem with Thermoquads being dry in the morning, was because the main jets were installed in a small cap epoxied on the base of the throttle body and gas would seep out after sitting all night. It also resulted in hard starting after an hour or so because the engine would be flooded. The Later model ford carbs, as I remember actually had a small fuel return tube to drain the float bowl to intentionally drain the carb. This was an anti pollution tactic that resulted in 10 seconds of cranking in the morning. The factory carbs like the AFB shown were very reliable in my opinion.
Hi Mike, subb'd and liked!! I have a Carter AFB on a 327 340 Chev engine, I can drive to the local coffee shop about mile and half away, then either going there or coming back my car stalls, I can get it to restart and keep on going without pulling over. What would cause this stall - then restart ok? Thank you in advance.

Should the choke be fully closed? Mine has about a 3/8" opening.

Something wrong with the video? Like a florescent light going out overhead. Flickering.
