A quick look at style in Jamaica Kincaid's "Girl" --Like Rebecca? Her book of poems, first published by Pecan Grove Press of St. Mary's University, is now in an e-edition here: www.smashwords...
Thank you for your three videos. Your initial description of how Jamaica Kincaid was trying to overwhelming the reader was spot on, especially for me! Your opinions and advice about how to approach and critically think about the story have helped me immensely. Your videos are truly not getting the attention they deserve.
You might be able to find the story online. Search by title and the phrase "full text." Otherwise, you can find it in Kirzner and Mandell's LITERATURE: READING, REACTING, WRITING. Several of the old editions have the story, going back to the year 2002 or so.
Tank you for help me with your videos, they are really usefull. You give me a lot of good points of view for my next exams.
Greetings form Spain.
