thanks for the inspiration I am a new hot pepper farmer and experiencing rotten roots and yellow leaves. so I will take a different approach to the unhealthy trees
Amazing to see the revival! I'm considering moving all my hydroponic pepper plants to soil (so i can have room for other hydroponic stuff). The two oldest (~9 months old) hydroponic pepper plants are beginning to struggle, with leaves yellowing and stuff. Problem is they are too big for me to lift the lids of their containers to do a proper flush and washing, so i suspect the roots are beginning to have problems. I've had success in transplanting hydroponic to soil before, seeing this video (although not hydroponic) gives me hope and courage to do it with the rest.
Hello. This is awesome that you were able to revive your plant. I love how you showed us the progress with your plant. I might have to try this with my pepper plant. Thanks for your video
Amazing you were able to revive it and it's looking lush at the end. I will be brave and try this with my plant that's grown too tall and not bushy. BTW, thank you so much for the KS White Thai seeds! Such a nice surprise and delight to finally have some seeds to grow as you always talk so positively about it and it's a gorgeous plant (at least when YOU grow it, mine might be a different story altogether! Hahaha!). I'm going to try to plant my seeds and see if it'll grow and fruit before winter comes. :)
When you have a long tall plant have you tried to remove the old leafes then place it sideways so there will be alot of new shoots when the sun shine on it. And eventually cut the top of the plant if side shoots growing too slowly.
Can you do a video from germination to harvest? I’m missing steps and didn’t realize lighting is a must. Took me a year or so to figure this out. Window lighting won’t do it for growing indoor. Thank you!
Love your videos. Thank you. I'm mostly doing Kratky indoor gardening right now. I'm curious. Could you take a plant that size, wash off the roots, and then Kratky it? You should try it!
How far can one go with the roots? Obvioiusly, the rotten and already loose part can go, and when there's no root left it's time to stop ;) But how to see if the roots are still ok, and how much to take out?
When you take that pepper plant out of the pot to transfer to a new pot can I spray out all the old soil thats in the roots with the water hose and then place the plant in new soil? Or should i leave some of the old soil in side the roots?
I have a question regarding your semi hydro watering technique I see you using a lot. You use a little bit of water/fert mix in the second(outside) cup for your chillies as the roots are coming out of the bottom of the soil cup. Now... if you had oragnic powder fertiliser/worm humus in the soil cup, could you just feed water with no nutes to the outside cup?
I was hesitant to try pro mix at my local Walmart but it was the only soil they had in stock. I've never grown better peppers in my life!!! Definitely worth it IMO.
My pepper plants looked like this one before. Not as large, maybe half the size. Wish I had seen this sooner, I ripped out all but one. The one I did is alive but is definitely stunted. I pruned the branches all the way down to the main trunk and it only has a few leaves and doesn’t seem to be growing, but it doesn’t seem to be dying either. I guess I’ll have to wait and see.
Great instructions. Thanks. I'll be thankful if you can tell me how many seasons I can keep an Habanero hot pepper plant. Now I have one that it's in second season .
Woody soil mixes will deplete nitrogen from the soil. Wood is good for compost in the long term but bad in the short term. As it decays, it will slowly release the nitrogen. I think the problem your plant is seeing with the woody soil is called nitrogen starvation.
i have a plant thats very messed up new growth turns yellow quickly and i had repotted it.. although new health looks fine it eventually turns yellow and drops, flowers also drop too.. no idea what could be wrong i have covered all aspects of the soil calicum mag sulfur npk soil drains fine im stumped
Daylength too short?? It's really warm where I am in Australia but daylength is short and chilli plant isn't growing much. It should recover as soon as Spring arrives.
Red Toberts well it started coming back early spring at peak we had about 14:30 hours of sunlight.. i dont think so as my reaper and 7 pot bubblegum are doing amazing. i just repotted in a new soil mix and fabric pot so here's to hoping it sorts it self out, ive had this ghost pepper for a year and i would hate for it to be killed.
Hi. My pepper plant is gettin yellow spots on the tips of the leaves, what could it be? over watering? under watering? too little nutrition or too much nutrition? I understand if you cant answer this. Love your videos :) keep it up!
IT could be all that, or even fungal problem. Check your soil to see if it's wet all the time. If it is, then it's over-watering. For under-watering, the leaves usually droop and wilt. Too much nutrition, the tips of your plants will start to deform and become very wrinkly. Pests can also do the same.
Flowers falling off could be due to many reasons. One is heat. If the temperature is above 90F, they usually drop flowers until weather becomes cooler. Fertilizing too much during bloom will also cause this.
Do you know if coconut coir has the same properties as peat moss? Peat moss is a nonrenewable resource and companies destroy ecosystems to extract it from the ground, so I haven’t been using it in my garden.
Hi my name is Jerry I've been following you for a while now, I think my pepper plants are in trouble, I have two pepper plants and tomatoes plant in 5 gallons bucket. My pepper leaves are dropping is that because it's too crowded in the 5 gallons bucket? Please advise.
I think I put my peppers out too soon and some are more stunted than others. We didn't have a frost but the weather was hot one week and then it would cool down. If that's not the problem do you have any suggestions for next year???

My plan is to remove the two pepper plants and put them in a separate bucket and cross your finger, I hoped I don't killed all three of them. I would not do anything until I hear from you.
know you do not live in a desert area, cloth grow bags are a nightmare in hot desert regions particularly black and dark colors require too much water get way to hot stunted the growth of the chili plants. threw away over 400 grow bags
The Luther Burbank of Peppers used a crappy soil mixture and the only solution was major surgery?? AND new soil. Yeah, that's what we ought to do when the leaves turn yellow: Set back the growing season by two months. Well, we don't all live in Texas. Hell, you can grow things in straight Perlite. It's called hydroponics. So, moisture retention is not the issue.
I think you're asking how to make your peppers spicier? Once they've flowered and the peppers are grown but still green, let the plant dry out completely, then give it a good soaking, then water regularly, but really sparingly- just enough to keep the plant healthy and alive until they're ripe. Also, full sun at this point if you can. That concentrates the capsaicin for some reason.
I want to do this to one of my plants, but I don’t know if it’s too late in the season to try it here in the Bay Area, CA. I’m worried I won’t have enough time to bloom peppers outdoors?

I have kept 1 habanero for 3 years before. I think they can live longer if you treat them well.
how can it grow with 0 leaves to produce photosynthesis i dont get it, is there enough energy stored in the roots to create all those new branches

eventually effective microorganism can boost the compost process and solve that problem?
@@Sincharei yes. As they eat the wood and die off, their bodies release the nitrogen
