These are people talking to each other as they would talk over the breakfast table. They both know the name of the cat, so there's no reason to say it. That's normal. As far as the validity of the recordings, we have thousands of them. They are the voices of women, men, children, with a variety of nationality accents. No person could imitate all these voices. Besides, Flint was studied repeatedly, with no hint of fraud. He had his mouth taped shut and had a throat microphone on in some tests. Any utterance would have been recorded as his vocal cords. Nothing was recorded.

@TwiddleBee Being able to communicate with the dead is not the boring part, it's just like this old couple is just picking up a conversation where they left off... why would anyone except them be interested in listening to their subject matter for what feels like goes for hours? It's just not an interesting conversation to listen to, I'd think he'd want to know where she went and the process of getting there. This is just a boring conversation about nothing.

No, that superstition comes from interpretations of the Jewish canon. But that referred to communication with spirits through necromancers or mediums. The reason is that people were consulting spirits instead of going to Yahweh, the Jewish god. The Jewish canon tells people not to consult mediums to learn about their fate. There is nothing in the Jewish canon about not talking to your loved ones. And the Christian canon has nothing about not talking to mediums and nothing about not talking to your loved ones in spirit. By the first centuries CE, the admonitions against consulting necromancers or mediums had fallen away. And we have many, many wonderful communications with people living in the afterlife. @@brianjob3018 No, Yahweh evolved over time among the Hebrews in the ninth and eighth centuries BCE. The early deity was Yahweh Sabaoth, the god of heavenly armies. Before that, it seems Yahweh was associated with the Canaanite El as a lesser god and evolved into the one god of the Insraelites. There is no evidence as far as I know of a sudden appearance of Yahweh or El as extraterrestrials.
