A similar ammendment to our constitution in KY is on the ballot this November. Thanks for sharing your views.

I am filling out my KY ballot right now :). I could tell by the language used that something seemed sus.

This is the EXACT wording in the text..! (The accused shall not have standing to assert the rights of a victim. ) If you are accused is a self defense case, your rights are abolished and you are defenseless, so much for your presumed innocents..! VOTE NO...! "KY"

@Travis Thacker Nope,, you are wrong about the all republican part...! Two counties with the most population are Jefferson and Fayette County, and both are almost completely democrat. The reason is the College in Louisville Uof L and UK in Lexington have spent decades brainwashing the locals, but the remainder of the state is RED..! The stupidity in this law is that when you are involved in an incident where it is a matter of self defense and you are the victim, you could easily be charged as the assailant..! You lose your rights,, because you can't claim victim status..!
This is just another case of the government having a tool to use against a self defense victim. The people that put this law to a vote, knew that the uninformed public would fall for this victim's rights Bullshit...! And all the social justice warriors will vote for anything that they label as victims rights...!

The rich Californian she referenced for starting this law is Marsy's brother. She forgot to mention that important fact.

I cannot believe that the night before the vote, this only has 154 views. This is the ACLU of Pennsylvania. No one thinks that their perspective is worth listening to?

Most Pennsylvanians don't give a damn what radical Marxist and America-hating organizations like the ACLU think.

@@Feanor1169 I'm not a huge fan of the ACLU either, but they aren't wrong here. You would hate to be wrongfully accused under this amendment. Unfortunately, it's an emotional proposal that has some very good aspects except when it comes to the consideration of Innocence until proven guilty.

@@Feanor1169 I don't have much respect for ACLU either, but what reasoning can you give to counter her points? The point about it assuming guilt was my first reaction when hearing this even before she said it. Having someone come in and give a very emotional speech in a court case before even determining if the accused is guilty seems wrong. Also, I think she makes a good point of keeping it out of the constitution so it can be updated and such easily if need be.

You are withholding information which is important to this movement. It is disappointing you failed to talk about how Marsy was murdered and how her family learned of the release of her murderer. Its is also disappointing you failed to talk about the benefits of victim notification and protection of victims rights.
