I disagree thouroughly with this statement though. It is 100% living in the past, feeding off your old memories instead of creating new ones. Nostalgia is for people when they havent moved on yet. I know this very well myself and I bet you do it too, this is the truth.
@@siegpasta your past shapes who you are today. You can only move forward by recognizing your past, both good and bad. I feel like people who can't associate with positive nostalgia either had a shitty childhood (and have contempt for everyone elses) or simply aren't old enough to reminisce.
I will never forget in Vanilla, a 60 rogue giving me 50g I needed for my mount. He walked with me to get it, and we rode around together after; never saw him again. In classic wow I’m going to continue the cycle and give a poor lvl 40 gold for a mount.
A fine gentleman on my server handed me a ton of spare ores and helped me develop a couple tradeskills that allowed me to finally purchase my own mount, then disappeared a few day later. Sadly, about a month after I hit level 60, I learned from his wife (who also played) that he was killed in a car accident. That was why they were offline for so long. It was strange how a complete stranger, one whose real name I never knew, whose face could be anyone in a crowd, had such an effect on me. His wife and I are still good friends to his day. We still joke from time to time about how much he would have liked to see the changes being made in WoW and other game series. Rift, if there's a beyond, and you're reading this, thanks again. I have played every expansion, and in every expansion I've thought about you as I leveled my professions. You will always be the Blacksmith to the Gods.
Someone actually gave me 50 gold when I was level 10ish also. My friends freaked out when I told them. Pretty sure it was a rogue also, Robin Hood maybe.
Bryan Donaldson I’m so sorry to hear that, I’m glad you are still having memories and being friends with his wife. I love that games to do this kind of stuff
I had a similar thing where some stranger came up and gave me Robes of Insight which was (and still is IMHO) one of the most beautiful rare transmog cloth robes in the game. (and it had pretty good stats and was my level) Just said thought you'd look better in it than me, as he was male and my toon was female. Wow, I still mog it today, truly one of my favs.
and heres what ill do. for every gold you give out to me i will double your contribution. Thats right! For every gold you give me i will give two gold... to me.
Exactly that. I always felt guilty for my Wow Nostalgia Glasses. I was afraid that going back will just suck - and everyone that says it will suck is right. Yet playing MGS or FF7 for 10th time always felt right. Even now, when im 20+ years older. MadSeason just proved that it's not the point - and I probably will have lots and lots of fun during Summer:D Love that channel
Insane how people make arguments against classic that actually helps improve the foundations of it. Saying how it took forever to find a group and end a dungeon, without saying how you probably got a cool rare upgrade which - you will show off to all of your pals is - mind boggling. I dare any retailer come in here and count his equipment by heart, nope. Meanwhile, one upgrade back in the day made you log on just to double check it was still there. While i do agree with all of your points in the vid, as always. I dont agree with TES and other game comparisants. Why? Well, all those games got their sequels, while Wow did not. It is a game that for better or for worse continued to evolve through the years, and in the end is the same game that is not. (not sure if it makes sense). The game rules, that made it once great (and will do again), were changed numerous times. Which ended up making it worse (imo). When you take out the community, and the time effort the game demanded you just strip it off its value long term. Showing off your hard earned armor set back in the day made a huge statement, and it meant alot for your server rep. Nowadays, you can see a rogue decked out with an insane set along with glaives just to check him out and find that he did not even level up this xpac. Sad.
Also, ive been playing a bit on one private server. Leveling a warlock, reaching the requirements to do Shadowfang Keep and rolling a win on Arugals Robes and the end... wow... What an insane upgrade! Those stats etc, can any piece of loot make me happy nowadays like that? Nope.
I teared up when he spoke of having dinner with his family and talking about his day. I realized how rare this is today with people communicating electronically and dinner is just grabbing a bite on the go. If you still eat and talk with your family, don't stop. It is too easy to slip into the fast pace of the world today and lose out on the little things. I don't do that anymore and I realize how sad that is.
I love TBC, I started in 2.1, it's my favorite expansion and yet I want Blizzard to make a new expansion that has similar game design to TBC, WoTLK or Cataclysm, instead of me replaying what I've already played to death be it retail or private servers.
Vanilla was great, but tbc was even better with so many improvments, like making almost all classes and specs viable in raids, 16 HCs etc. they could Have skipped the flying mount tho😑
Actually they can even make a good version of every expansion imo. They can literally RESET the game and re-do everything without doing the same mistakes and systems that made those expansions bad. Even WoD could be good without garrisons and with actually more content (no self camera patch too PLEASE).
I remember I started playing WoW with my Dad in 2008. I remember leveling with him, raiding with him and exploring with him, our computers where right next to each other. I really wish I could go back in time and relive all those good times. Also, thanks for making me tear up 😂
@@naota3k It sounded more like a shepherd's pie then Hamburger Pie. But that's probably what it was. Madseason's Mom just called it Hamburger Pie to make him eat it as a kid.
@@naota3k dunno if relevant, but in North America, it's fairly common to call ground beef hamburger meat or just hamburger ( as a mass noun i.e. some hamburger instead of a hamburger) Hence hamburger helper, not a product for making hamburgers, but a product for making a small amount of ground beef go further in a recipe So it might be exactly the same thing as Sheppard's pie
I was very moved by this video, and felt kinda comforted by the way you talked about that hamburger pie.. Also, the monotonous voice is a very very nice alternative to the super charismatic and the loud extroverts! Thank you!
I actually hold zero nostalgia for Vanilla because I never played it back in the day. I only recently got into WoW thanks to private servers and I have to say, Vanilla still holds up to this very day. When Classic launches, it's going to be an absolute blast and I'm happy for those who will be able to relive those old days.
@@kurtisvaughn3892 yes, they are different, but much closer than anything available on retail today and sure it's not perfect but they give a good representation of what the game used to be.
I think nostalgia is valid because when people say "nostalgia" they actually refer to certain quailities. For me what makes me nostalgic about WOW vanilla is the aesthetics, the sounds, the story, designs, characters and overall art direction. What I like about the game is the sense of wander that it creates. You're an adventurer lost in a vast world that feels enchanted and magical, alive. It's truly a beautiful world and I think that's what makes us nostalgic about it.
I'm a fairly new subscriber to your channel, I stumbled across you while looking for classic info. With that being said your videos instantly took me back to the days I played vanilla, it reminded me of a kid sitting on the edge of my seat in school waiting for that bell to ring and getting more excited with every turn on my ride home to jump back into the world of warcraft. Now watching your videos about vanilla and classic coming out I get that same edge of my seat feeling every time I hear the opening tune of one of your videos. I just wanted to personally thank you for the videos that have me feeling like a kid again waiting on the best game of my childhood to come back. Thank you for your time and dedication.
I'm very nostalgic about vanilla. It was something unique for me. Me and my RPG friends played the game, and at our sessions discussed our paths through WoW for almost half the session. I made friends, raided and was there as guild and raid leader. I argued a Lot, learned a lot about my class, others' classes and the rich world that was growing before my eyes. No one can take that from me.
Ray Heller 🤔🤔 retail has probably around a million. In its prime it had 14 million. Classic is what people want. If you’re trying to say retail is better, it has good qualities, but they get drowned out by the overwhelming amount of bad qualities. For example the wide variety of mounts is awesome. But, most mounts are old content that you can rush through in less than a day then ask yourself why am I playing? The game feels like a single player RPG with a side element of multiplayer. You can solo every quest, world quest, and anything other than an instance. I could go on and on of the negative qualities about the game but I don’t wanna type em up. Why do you think everyone is stopping their subs? It’s because the game isn’t what it used to be. That’s why people enjoyed it. It was a social experience but now... there’s LFR.
I went and downloaded 1.12 and played on lights hope as a turran warrior. I can say I have no nostalgia for classic, now that said. I really enjoy classic. Yeah quest make you feel like it’s a running sim but the cool quests for your class. The people I’ve meet on the way to 60. Have to talk and get to know the people I’m playing with. It’s so cool. I just wish I could play back in the day. I hope classic will be a reason for bliz to look back and see that a MMORPG should have some RPG elements in it.
I'm so happy everytime I get to tune in to your Monotone voice talk passionately about something I'm also passionate about. Never change Madseason youre the best.
One of your best videos by far. I get chills thinking back to when me and my mates played this game religiously throughout our childhood. So many great memories and moments that I will forever cherish. Thank you world of Warcraft Thank you Madseason for giving me nostalgic throwbacks to some of the best times in my life. Keep up your great work.
Nostalgia hits different for every person... well said madseason. I was young when I started playing and just seeing or thinking about that time when I started flashes so many memories before my eyes. To times before adult struggles, before grandparents pass away. 5 friends from class all playing. Makes me sad that the past is "gone". Memories, sad or not are important to every single person in the world and no one can take that away from anyone. Hope I see you guys in Classic!
This video was incredible. I sat there with goosebumps and started to get emotional watching this. Some of my favorite memories growing up involved spending time with my dad and my brother or friends playing WoW. Now, at the age of 22, I look back, and I cant help but miss those times. The things we did, and going back to the places we used to play it, or even thinking about it gives me this warm sensation, sometimes I even catch a smell that used to be associated with those times and I get deep into though and nostalgia. It's a beautiful thing, gaming has been a part of me since I was born, and will always be a piece of me. These memories will always be with me, and I want to thank you for bringing them back to me, if nothing else, this video touched me and I love the work you put in, so thank you for that ❤
It's not living in the past, it's acknowledging and appreciating important moments in your life that shaped who you are today and who you'll be in the future. - MadSeasonShow. Preach brother, preach.
Really depends on the game. I was like 9 years old when I played GTA VC, it was sort of my first shooter game and I absolutely loved it! When I look at those graphics today...jesus..^^
I picked a Night Elf hunter as my first ever character, maybe 7 or 8 on my older brother's account. I got bored easily and made new characters constantly, but there was something magical about seeing Tiragarde keep for the first time, and dying over and over just to explore it. As many have likely said, it was the sense of adventure; a whole new world. For a lonely neurodivergant boy, it was love at first sight. It was something to escape into.
I don’t have nostalgia from playing vanilla, i never got to play. But I remember playing DnD with friends and hearing all their awesome stories about it, so when I heard they were making classic I went and built my first pc ever, bought retail, and immediately started diving in. I’m so excited to finally experience this game that I reveled as a child, and your videos just keep getting me more excited. Thanks to you and all your community.
Man you brought my tears down when you talked about the pie and how brought your memories talking about your day with your parents. Miss those days. Great video.
MadSeasonShow at 9:45 you really brought a tear in my eye, that moment touched me. I think only vanilla veterans knows how good this game really is. Great video!
Nostalgia is a positive human quality. It forms bonds and echoes through generations. In fact, we each owe part of what makes us individuals today to the nostalgia of those who've influenced us, so only sociopaths trash others for their sense of nostalgia. Excellent video, man.
Well said. And, a strong indictment against the frail egos of those people who naively believe that *their* opinions are 'right', and that their preferences are 'better' than everyone else's opinions and preferences. The hippy generation had it right from the beginning: Peace. Love. Live and let live. Thanks for being you, and for sharing here.
“…a comment I get a lot on my channel all the time is that my videos are very nostalgic [...] if my videos serve as vessels to bring out that wonderful feeling for people that alone makes them worth the effort…” This is so true for me. I stopped playing at the beginning of WotLK, yet I enjoy all your videos very much. And I oftentimes get the nostalgic feeling from you videos - in the good way. This is a great video, your channel is great as well and thank you very much for so many entertaining videos! I’m really really happy I found your channel :)
You are the best. Edit: I posted this before watching the full video and had to edit with this follow-up. Was expecting some thoughts on classic, what I didn't expect were these damn feels. Those last 2 minutes really hit me. Classic might not bring all the good times back, folks, but whatever it gave you in the past, its yours forever.
This is my favorite video of yours, I still go back to it and re-watch it to make myself feel warm and fuzzy on the inside, because I think it speaks more to nostalgia in general, not just in gaming.
100% agree with this video, thanks for making it! This can explain why I always held Wrath of the Lich King as the best game of all time. It was where I was introduced to WoW, and where all my fondest memories of the game are. No wonder I keep hearing that my opinion is wrong and Classic and TBC was better :) Great video really

One of the most important and constructive videos about gaming, well done man, your videos have really been a vessel to our childhood memories. Even after playing vanilla on private servers for over 8 years, I still feel like the kid I was when thinking about it. Bring Classic already blizz!!
Top 5 Reasons for WoW Classic 5: Challenge 4: Nostalgia 3: More Social Interactions Required 2: Old World 1: Corrupted Ashbringer and other removed content
5: There is no challenge in classic wow, just grind. Leveling takes a while but the raids are a joke that can be cleared by brain dead LFR raiders and the PvP takes 0 skill and has no depth to it. 4: That Nostalgia will wear off in a week or so, maybe even sooner. 3. Forced Social Interaction is an overrated and outdated element that is being overhyped by nostalgia driven vanilla fanboys, most ppl do not care about it and just want to play the game. 2. Your opinion I guess 1. Your opinion.

@@rayheller9747 "Vanilla fanatics are wrong and need to know that they are wrong" I keep seeing this pattern in responses like yours. Accusations of fanaticism... paired with declarations of righteousness, seemingly without any irony. Do you not grasp that you are a fanatic? If you feel compelled in such a manner, if you think they "need to know that they are wrong", you are just as much a fanatic as you say they are. What further renders your attitude rather fanatical, is that you seem certain that classic will flop... yet you are so troubled by its mere existence, that you need to make them know that they're wrong? Is this one of those scenarios where you're actually deeply uncertain of your own position, and you're trying to convince yourself of something? "Moves on like normal human beings"? We're talking about a 14 year old game whose engine and core gameplay were built to support 56k dialup. To "move on" would be to call for a WoW 2, or play something else.

I so love and respect when you get deep and introspective asking seemingly simple questions that hit me right in the feels. Well done good sir and keep up the good work!
Dude. I got to say that your game choice growing up was exceptional... probably because I played all the same games! I love that you threw The Legend of Dragoon and Secret of Mana into your video. Definitely two of my favorite games of all time with massive nostalgia factors. Keep up the great work!
I was sorta "meh" at the discussion of WoW Classic last year. After watching your videos with my wife, we've decided to build new pc's and get our nostalgia on!
MadSeason, I can say without a shadow of a doubt, this is your finest video. Your channel does exactly that: it takes me back to being a teenager. Coming home from school and racing to log in to WoW Vanilla knowing that all my friends had just logged on, or would in the next few minutes. Going from screwing around while leveling, to killing Nefarian with 40 people cheering into their microphones. It was never about the Bloodfang Chest. It was always about those memories you made with your friends, and how the next day at school all we could talk about was how awesome clearing BWL felt, and wondering what Blizzard would conjure up next for us to struggle with and eventually triumph over. Two people in my wedding party were people I played WoW with. One of my best friends in high school got MARRIED to a girl he met playing WoW. The relationships made from WoW last forever. Your analogy of eating your mom's cooking is perfect. World of Warcraft Classic is like coming home from school, and eating your mom's cooking. I know that I am a better cook than my mom, and my wife is a wayyyy better cook than my mom. But my mom's meatloaf? It'll be my favorite dish forever. I always ask her what she puts in it, and she just says, "I made it with love." The Classic WoW experience is made with love. And you can taste it.
@@chaotik7853 well, they are pretty damn close to the original, the only difference being, that these days you can find everything(quest guides/builds/raid strategies) online, whereas back then you had to learn and earn your medals. Plus there's much more toxicity in PuGs, as you're expected to know it all automatically instead of evolving. Vanilla had its flaws, but it also was an experience way different than the WoW of today. It was a journey.
You have really out done yourself with this video, Mad. Absolutely perfectly done. Nostalgia shouldn’t be pushed aside for better graphics or smoother gameplay. WoW has a deeper place in my heart then any game I’ve played in the last 10 years ever will. Nostalgia is deep and it should be embraced.
Trust me if these games were released today as they were back then, not mtx riddled and great depth in gameplay and character custimisation. It would get high receptions no matter graphics. Sure it would not be popular among todays zoomer kids but a large older generation of gamers would love it. Peoples dont think back to these games with "nostalgia" because it implys that they were not as good as we think they were. But infact I have gone back today and played alot of old games and I still enjoy them as much as I used to even tho im closing in on 30 years old. These games had soul, love and care put into them which is why peoples loved them. You had to figure out a way to beat them the developers dident "nerf" the content so everyone could complete them which gave a sense of accomplishment to them. Alot of todays tripple A games are nothing but a shallow cashgrab with flashy graphics and no actual meaningful gameplay. I am gonna show my kid older games rather than this new crap that is on the market when he gets older, how good games used to be. That nostalgia argument also fails considering games such as chess are still the same as they were 60-70 years ago and I havent seen anyone say that you just love chess because of nostalgia. No peoples love it because it is a good game no matter its age. For some reason nostalgia only applies to video games and everyone see them as some sort of thing that you can only enjoy when they are new and fresh. When in reality they are no diffrent from sports, climbing, sailing, board games and other hobbys.
@@aidbajramovic9711 actually original wow isn't even wow anymore, what wow has become today has literally nothing to do with the past its completely different game, original wow is classic up to wotlk and a bit of cata.
I started with games around 1996 when I got my first PC. Can't remember much games from that time, but one stuck in my mind. It was Prehistorik 2 in MS DOS. After that I was into games, switching from PC to PS1 and back. First game which I really loved was first DotA. Especially because of online teamplay. Played it for a few years until I tried WoW for the first time on my friends account around 2006 and it blew my mind. Same day I ordered it and remember the moment when I landed first look on the box and amazing design, installing it and entering the massive world. Jesus, brain overflooded with serotonin. FF - After a few months of playing (got 60), Burning Crusade got out so I didn't experience hardcore raiding from Vanilla (raided BC tho), but still there was an extreme joy of levelling and experiencing enormous world along with your friends. Everything was hard and you had to put effort, like in real life. I stopped before Cata. IMO Wow brought gaming onto another level. It was huge part of my life, it was sanctuary where I escaped from all the family problems. I tried it again in WoD (for a few months) and got sad when I saw what it turned into. Magic got lost, everything was fast and easy. I could go into details and write a book. It's not just nostalgia, it's love! Great videos MadSeason!
Right? Those long treks to and through dungeons built friendships. Some of those people, I still talk to almost daily. I'm flying out to hang out with a couple of them next month. Push-button dungeon grouping and instance teleporting killed that.
I farmed that dungeon so much in vanilla on my pally for the cool armor, weapons, and tabard. I don't entirely miss the trek though it did bring with it some fun times and memories. Especially on a PvP sever.
Same here I was doing my daily shared stealth runs in my lvl 60 rogue in d1 set gear when a lvl 60 human in naxx gear showed up killing every one. I stun locked his ass and killed him. Made some good friends there and joined there guild to finish my d2 set and went on to molten core to naxx.
i played in a private server with a night elf and i made 3 friends with the wetlands run... what can i fucking say. thats why wow is garbage now. and yeah if u like bfa u should be offended. its pathetic to have so low standards.
My nostalgia moment of WoW was taking the manual inside my vanilla game case literally reading the pages over and over again and trying to mimic the amazing artwork within the pages... At this point you can probably tell that my subscription was down. All jokes aside, I don't feel like WoW being an MMO is the reason why there's such conflict with the term Nostalgia. The issue with WoW and why there's such a feud between the new and the old, is simply because there were too many dramatic changes to the game. Look at Guild Wars for a moment. The second version of the game is completely different than the first because the developers took the central concept of the game and created a whole new aspect that many disliked and many others liked. However, If I wanted to go back and play the original, I could just simply log back into my old account on the vanilla version and be back to where I felt right. This is what Blizzard did wrong. If they would of just created a WoW 2 at that main point where the game started to really take on many changes, it would of pleased new and older players because at any point of time they could just simply go back or forward at their own time, instead of being locked into whatever expansion was current. I do believe MMOs are certainly harder to get back into that nostalgia status unlike your old school console games that forever hold that nostalgia feeling. I just believe there's ways to bring back that nostalgia without so much conflict!
mad i love your videos, i havent played wow in maybe 8 or so years, but i always come back to your channel for the nostalgia. hell even your choice of armor is nostalgic as i can even remember some gear that uses the same models
Ever hear an old song and smile, or show anticipation at the idea of playing a board game that you played with your family (Monopoly anyone), or how about seeing a favorite toy or comic book that you read or played with as a child. These things will invariably invoke an emotion, some can simply enjoy the feeling and move on. Others of us decide that this is something to be cherished those of us in the latter group become collectors. Even after 60 years I enjoy reading a good comic book, but show me one from the early sixties and you will see a smile on my face as I am transported back to my youth. All of this is driven by nostalgia, when it is something that you have seen during your life time. Often it becomes a little more and the collector goes back further than their memories. Some people have made a a lot of money from what was initially just a nostalgic reaction. So regardless of if it is a video game or a comic book, or even an old spoon handed down through the family nostalgia is a good thing and should never be dismissed lightly. Thank you for your inspiring video.

Nope.
Damn dude, got a tear out of 39 year old man. Nostalgia is a powerful thing.
This is definitely one of if not THE best video you've put up. Made me tear up a bit at the end.
Keep doing what you do, Mad.
Always feels good to hear from this guy. I’ve teared up multiple times from his vids lol
True and real
Glad I wasn't the only one!
I was just about to write a similar comment after watching the video but you beat me to it! :) Awesome vid.
The best World of Warcraft video I've seen, period.
Me: *has a horrible day*
* listens to the first 5 seconds of this video*
*Has a pretty alright day*
*listens to whole video*
Has a pretty good day
THIS!!!! Omg yes. You're so accurate.
Lol
I wish I could experience WoW for the first time once again. It was magical entering this vast and magical world with people all around the world.
Fr, it was so revolutionary playing for the first time. There weren’t many MMOs around so as a young kid it really hits you
"life is too short to let others decide what you like and don't like."
I'm not crying. Youre crying.
Damn! It really turned philosophical by the end :) Wise words
I'm a BC enthusiast. I want classic to succeed well enough, phenominally even, that we get a Classic Burning Crusade release.
I love TBC, I started in 2.1, it's my favorite expansion and yet I want Blizzard to make a new expansion that has similar game design to TBC, WoTLK or Cataclysm, instead of me replaying what I've already played to death be it retail or private servers.
I think this is a one off..
Even WoD could be good without garrisons and with actually more content (no self camera patch too PLEASE).
pretty sure they will remake everything until up to wotlk.
I remember I started playing WoW with my Dad in 2008. I remember leveling with him, raiding with him and exploring with him, our computers where right next to each other. I really wish I could go back in time and relive all those good times.
Also, thanks for making me tear up 😂
Alright, so what is that Hamburger Casserole recipe?
I KNOW. Sounded sort of like my Shephard's Pie recipe. Ground beef, spices, peas, carrots, bit of celery/onion, garlic, potato. Lovely.
@@naota3k It sounded more like a shepherd's pie then Hamburger Pie. But that's probably what it was. Madseason's Mom just called it Hamburger Pie to make him eat it as a kid.
MadSeasoningCookingShow possibly confirmed?
The recipe is classified information ^^
@@naota3k dunno if relevant, but in North America, it's fairly common to call ground beef hamburger meat or just hamburger ( as a mass noun i.e. some hamburger instead of a hamburger)
Hence hamburger helper, not a product for making hamburgers, but a product for making a small amount of ground beef go further in a recipe
So it might be exactly the same thing as Sheppard's pie
I was very moved by this video, and felt kinda comforted by the way you talked about that hamburger pie..
Also, the monotonous voice is a very very nice alternative to the super charismatic and the loud extroverts!
Thank you!
I actually hold zero nostalgia for Vanilla because I never played it back in the day. I only recently got into WoW thanks to private servers and I have to say, Vanilla still holds up to this very day. When Classic launches, it's going to be an absolute blast and I'm happy for those who will be able to relive those old days.
Thank you. Madseason couldnt even consider this at all. A game is not only remember because of nostalgia, sometimes its just a great game.
Private servers an classic vanilla are different
@@kurtisvaughn3892 yes, they are different, but much closer than anything available on retail today and sure it's not perfect but they give a good representation of what the game used to be.
I’m going thru a really depressing time in my life when I watch your videos at night I feel so much better and block the bad thoughts out
Hope your doing better now
I'm glad you put an ad on both ends. You deserve to make money from all the hard work you put into your videos.
You get it man! I was completely lost in the world and i loved it.That's impossible today :(
This is one of the most important videos about World of Warcraft.
Or about anything food or story or what not. Mankind is designed to be able to be conditioned (for good or bad).
i agree. i recently resubbed, i hadn't played since right around the BC launch and Madman was part of the reason
in video games in general haha
Been trying to put this shit in words forever :D
With every upload I appreciate you even more. These classic videos are fantastic, MadSeason!
I didn't sign up for this feels trip, MadSeason. But I'm so happy you took me along.
this made me fucking almost cry I love your videos

Эдуардо Хелвечыос retail that is
@@barrel5168 Wrong, retail has millions. Classic will be the game that no one plays
Same here!
I don’t even play wow anymore but this video is part of my “go to bed” routine. We make moments homie, every day.
Just some possibly nonsensical rambling =]
MadSeasonShow sounds like an average patch video
The end segment got me teared up, it's a really great video, thank you
We love your nonsensical rambling!
Rambling never happens on this channel

Nostalgia hits different for every person... well said madseason. I was young when I started playing and just seeing or thinking about that time when I started flashes so many memories before my eyes. To times before adult struggles, before grandparents pass away. 5 friends from class all playing. Makes me sad that the past is "gone". Memories, sad or not are important to every single person in the world and no one can take that away from anyone. Hope I see you guys in Classic!
Was about to go to sleep and then I saw this! Your videos are really interesting

Really depends on the game. I was like 9 years old when I played GTA VC, it was sort of my first shooter game and I absolutely loved it! When I look at those graphics today...jesus..^^
@@falscherkim3033 Yup and it's a great game. Ocarina Of Time was the shit for me and Super Smash Bros.
I usually don’t comment on many videos, but this video was amazing. Great job!

This is one of the best videos I'v ever seen about World of Warcraft. Amazing how you can make a video game experience sound so poetic!
This was beautiful! Great video
The hippy generation had it right from the beginning:
Peace. Love.
Live and let live.
Thanks for being you, and for sharing here.
Get after it, Richard.
The hippy generation is a terrible model void of values. The first part is just being emotional mature/intelligent
“…a comment I get a lot on my channel all the time is that my videos are very nostalgic [...] if my videos serve as vessels to bring out that wonderful feeling for people that alone makes them worth the effort…”
This is so true for me.

Man I got goosebumps around 9:36. Excellent work, and thank you for being the voice for a lot of our thoughts.
God dang FFVII and Legend of Dragoon are some of the best games of my childhood, happy to see them apart of this
I play Legend of Dragoon all the way through once every year, I love it so much.
No wonder I keep hearing that my opinion is wrong and Classic and TBC was better :) Great video really
they were not better m8, they were different. all 3 are amazing. its cata that started fucking up the game... and everything after it

Says a lot about vanilla that I have nostalgia from playing Nostalrius (first time ever playing vanilla) even though I got my human warrior to level 17
You have such a good way of looking at gaming culture. It's very refreshing to hear acceptance instead of opinions
I'm not nostalgic for classic wow, I'm nostalgic for the friends, the things we did together and just playing WoW without irl respobilties.
I love classic WoW for what it is, how different it is to modern MMORPGs.
Ye. Wow today is an MMO casino game. Classic was a social MMO-RPG with depth to all levels instead of only max level.
@@Boya92 no, fuck leveling. I always hated it. It's ALWAYS been max level being the real game to me. But, I will enjoy the social aspects, and being forced to find groups, rather than some LFG tool.

One of the most important and constructive videos about gaming, well done man, your videos have really been a vessel to our childhood memories. Even after playing vanilla on private servers for over 8 years, I still feel like the kid I was when thinking about it. Bring Classic already blizz!!
Top 5 Reasons for WoW Classic
5: Challenge
4: Nostalgia
3: More Social Interactions Required
2: Old World
1: Corrupted Ashbringer and other removed content
5: There is no challenge in classic wow, just grind. Leveling takes a while but the raids are a joke that can be cleared by brain dead LFR raiders and the PvP takes 0 skill and has no depth to it.
4: That Nostalgia will wear off in a week or so, maybe even sooner.
3. Forced Social Interaction is an overrated and outdated element that is being overhyped by nostalgia driven vanilla fanboys, most ppl do not care about it and just want to play the game.
2. Your opinion I guess
1. Your opinion.
@@rayheller9747 Why are you here? I see you saying similarly pointless things in response to other people. I'm perplexed. What is the goal, exactly? Do you think that your ill-conceived arguments will result in some profound revelation; that people will spontaneously decide that they're not actually interested in the thing they're interested in?
Ray Heller also, no cross server which means if people are asses, they build up a reputation for being an ass
Also, I never played vanilla, so I have no Nostalgia to base my opinions off of. Only things other people said they’re excited for. Except the last two, those are like you said, my opinion and I’m excited for those two
@@NicholasBrakespear Vanilla fanatics are wrong and need to know that they are wrong, but most of them wont truely understand that until classic actually launches flops, hopefully after that everyone is on board and forgets about classic finally and moves on like normal human beings
@@rayheller9747 "Vanilla fanatics are wrong and need to know that they are wrong"
I keep seeing this pattern in responses like yours.
Validation is a powerful thing. This video is perfect for those who have felt cheated by those who don’t honor the feelings and opinions of others. Thank you for what you do for the community.

@@Boya92 i wanted to roll either undead lock or priest. but all my friends wanna play ally. so either dwarf priest or human lock most likely.

I always ask her what she puts in it, and she just says, "I made it with love."
The Classic WoW experience is made with love. And you can taste it.
My favorite is when somebody who hasn't played vanilla for 13 years tells me that I, who played it yesterday, don't remember it right.
Wel said
Holy shit. Opened this for another entertaining video to watch and relax, but got a philosophical and emotional journey. Nice job.

@Cristopher Gaetan true, people think just because you don't play on original its not real wow
@@aidbajramovic9711 actually original wow isn't even wow anymore, what wow has become today has literally nothing to do with the past its completely different game, original wow is classic up to wotlk and a bit of cata.
Longwittyusername Lol the rich guys are the ones taking your money every month you dumbass.
Same day I ordered it and remember the moment
when I landed first look on the box and amazing design, installing it and entering the massive world. Jesus, brain overflooded with serotonin.
FF - After a few months of playing (got 60), Burning Crusade got out so I didn't experience hardcore raiding from Vanilla (raided BC tho), but still there was an extreme joy of levelling and
experiencing enormous world along with your friends.
I will never forget the run to scarlet monetary from if...I made more friends in that run than cata -bfa.!!!
You said a lot of true and good things in this video. Nostalgia is a good feeling and no one can decide what you should like. Keep up the good work.
The dinner table along with nostalgia wow thing had me crying my man, you are a god among wow TH-cam creators. Just had to say that!
The captioning says *sup guys mad Susan here* I lost it ! lmao!
That is fantastic! I wonder what Susan thinks of that ;)
Brent Steffen makes me wonder lmao!!! Best caption ever!!!!!
Climhazzard! Best limit break. I will never forget getting it in the Cosmo Canyon dungeon and saving it for the boss. Epic
mad i love your videos, i havent played wow in maybe 8 or so years, but i always come back to your channel for the nostalgia. hell even your choice of armor is nostalgic as i can even remember some gear that uses the same models
Imagine playing a game where you explore the entirety of its content and reach max level within a week.
depends on the game, but in a progression based mmo that is horrible
I would argue most are still great games!
Even WoW Vanilla. I was surprised how fast I got into groups with random people having fun.
On the other hand I think a capped 5 Gold talent respec should be part of it.
Fantastic video. One of your finest works created thus far!
Yo so...this seems like a really odd request..
You got that Hamburger Pie recipe? That sounds really good man!
