Hey just wanna say that petscop is confirmed to not be connected to the Newmaker case! The story is not meant to be about her, rather the creator utilized the similarities in the beginning due to the themes of the storyline, and even has said he now regrets using the case as a point of connection !!
yeah i probably should have clarified the creator just took certain little aspects from it and that it's not literally about the newmaker case, sorry about that!
pretty sure Julie and Candy is also not inspired by it either, it's named after characters from a porn film and said porn film is used as samples on other songs on the album.
For anyone wondering what happened to poppy, she has left Titanic Sinclair and now makes multi genre music (though she's mostly known for her metal stuff she has dipped into other genres over the years)
My own personal list of weird youtube videos also includes Ratboygenius' "Potato Knishes". Truly captures the minecraft weirdness from the early 2010's. Great video, btw. It sure unlocked some memories lol
the whole rumors about blankroomsoup are a lot funnier to me now that the actual origin of it is more well-known. in short, its basically confirmed that blankroomsoup was a video created by the members of a band called stolen babies (sidenote: their music absolutely slaps, i highly reccommend it if youre into rock music with weird lyrics), with the main vocalist of the band, dominique persi, being the sister of the guy behind rayray, raymond persi. we still have no idea why raymond decided to say that the blankroomsoup video was made by people who stole the suits, considering the video was most likely made by his little sister and her bandmates. guess he was just feeling a little silly
There's a theory that he didn't want the video to be linked to him for the sake of his career, which I think makes sense given the rumors being so disturbing
Its very cool that young(er) people like you are making their own channels to talk about their love of creepy media just like we who lived through the early ages of the internet. Good channel
i got into weird internet videos when the pandemic started, and i was immediately enthralled by series like salad fingers, mandela catalogue, lacey's flash games, bugbo, and all the classic creepy youtube videos. i find this content so interesting and strangely comforting. (of course excluding mandela catalogue and lacey concerning the latter quality) i cant wait to discover new videos through this one :)
Would you ever consider making a full Petscop analysis video? My older sibling and I used to watch that series as it came out, I don't think we ever got very far in the analysis portion though lol.
I ABSOLUTELY need the full uncut version of the iceberg with pink morning cartoon and all the other cut entries- tbh I could hear you talk about this stuff for literal hours
8:14 I'm always sad that people forget about Mars Argo. She was the first "Poppy" and also got abused by Titanic. Mars and him made these videos before their falling out. Then Titanic picked up Poppy and copied the same exact style. Mars Argo's music is fucking awesome too. Please, please check out her music. Thanks for covering it, kylie!!
i remember being terrified of all of these videos!!! i especially remember the teddy bear operation video scaring the shit out of me, even tho i had never seen it. playground rumours really warped some of these videos to be scarier than they are in reality lol. although, i used to watch charlie the unicorn with my brother and i dont remember any violent content.... weird
Happy belated birthday! Looking forward to part 2. Funny that I had heard of more of the lower layers than the "sky" layers, lol. Probably because I watch Nexpo and Eudoxia.
the centrifuge brain project reminds me of all those test animations the atomic hearts devs would post on youtube while the game was still being developed, the animation and hand held camera style is really similar. I'd recommend watching through all of them because without the added context they could be considered their own kind of mystery video or analog horror.
This iceberg is so cool! Even as someone who likes online horror a lot, I still hadn't heard of a good number of these entries! Thank you for introducing me to more stuff to check out!!!
Oh yes, we need those cut entries and pink morning cartoon on the full version! This video is great, I'll be waiting on the edge of my seat for part 2, and I'm actually pretty surprised that I knew a decent amount of these things. I've also discovered a whole bunch of new things from this video, so thank you!
oh hell yeah, Weird Videos Playlist! Seriously though, i kinda grew up on the ‘weird side of the internet’, so seeing this iceberg video is a huge nostalgic treat n all. Thanks for making the iceberg and these videos!
Honestly the way Game Theory covered Crow 64 like it was bookended and just spoonfed all this information to the viewer in a "ooooo spooky five night feddywap" kinda vibe probably killed a ton of hype the project had. So many people including Nexpo had videos coming out for the topic that just never aired
it's so awesome to hear someone else who has salad fingers as a comfort series. i absolutely LOVE david firth's work, and i am inspired by it a lot in my artwork (i.e body horror). cream is my personal non salad fingers favorite. im so glad to hear that tho, its nice to see someone is as big of a firth fan as i am!!
As much as this video sent me back to when I was obsessed at searching all these weird stuff, the most recent discovery of the origin of "The Evil Farming Game" was the most hilarious conclusion to a mystery I've ever heard. I would never think it would've came from Joel of all people
Agreed- also Kylie left out the part that the memory of it being an actual game came from the fact that OP saw it when they were sick and loopy off cold meds which makes it even funnier
The blankroom soup video is apparently an art project by RayRay's sister or something I saw a video on it a while back and his sister has a band and theres other photos of the RayRay costumes being near the band members (IIRC)
This was a really fun video ❤️ thank you so much! Great pacing, great vibes, great editing. Wonderful topic. Only, isn't Exploding Varmints beloved by hundreds of thousands of RedLetterMedia fans for its legendary appearance on their series Best of the Worst? I know I could never forget that 😂
11:40 Candace newmaker went through early childhood abuse from her birth parents, leading her to the system. once she got adopted her mother was some sort of paediatric therapist whose idea of making adopted children go through mental and physical abuse to form a connection with their new parents.. She was crushed under 4 adults (a combined weight of around 600 pounds) and pillows and sheets to simulate a "birth canal"... she screamed for help but they didnt listen... truly chilling
For anyone familiar with what happened to Mars Argo - she's started making music again! Her channel is now called shouldicleanmyroom. I hope her and Poppy can both heal now they're out of that situation.
thank you! i did watch a lot of blameitonjorge when i was younger before i started my channel, and i feel like all the main youtubers i watched back then helped influence my editing style today
I love your videos so much, never stop! Your channel and its aesthetics are like a little dreamland of liminal spaces, it has such calming/dreamy vibe. Btw congrats on the sponsorship!
your videos are soooo good,, the editing, the music, your explanations, everything in your channel is absolutely perfect!!! keep it up like that, girlll
dog of man has stuck with me most of all davids work. i remember seeing it as a kid and it really disturbed me but i watched it so many times for some reason
in 2015 me and my group of friends at the time used to have sleepovers and we'd literally just watch the important videos playlist like it was a movie. there's not a single video in there that isn't burned into my brain.
After knowing nothing from layers below the sky, I was so happy when I realized I'd heard of Crow 64 before. I've been watching as many videos on weird internet stuff and analog horror, so finding your channel was like a gift. Can't wait to watch all of your vids!
Love the channel can't wait for part 2! Also I love salad fingers and that type of stuff. I would love to hear your interpretation of the series or creator.
Teddy has an operation I’m glad someone is finally talking about this again! I remember I loved that video as a kid I felt uncomfortable or something but I remember I watched the og video multiple times as a kid so this proves I wasn’t as terrified as it of other videos since I was too scared to go watch the real videos that were featured in chills videos lol. Now I find that video really heartwarming and sweet I think I felt something like that as a kid.
10:37 Don Hertzfeldt is fantastic, It’s Such a Beautiful Day and The World of Tomorrow series rank among the best animated works of all time. And for all its “weird viral video” infamy, even Rejected won a pile of awards and got a Best Animated Short nomination at the 2001 Academy Awards.
I remember finding out pretty recently that Ze Frank, the guy who makes funny short videos on different animals and critters, made the Teddy Surgery video.
when you described the centrifuge brain project I thought you were discussing Liminal Land for some reason as it has similar aspects like being centered around a theme park and what not, a few differences are there but still it was similar enough to confuse me
Been here since you were a much smaller channel, one of my favourite hidden gem channels to throw on when there’s people over/ if some burning is goin on
13:31 Local 58 doesn’t have any real connection to Candle Cove, a lot of Kris Straub’s works stand on their own but share what Frank Zappa called “conceptual continuity.” They share themes, ideas and references that tie them together as a cohesive body of work (in this case Mason County, WV, also the setting of Straub’s Broodhollow webcomic), but they’re still meant to be seen as standalone stories.
In regards to Graverobbing For Morons: it was recently found out that the guy in the videos name is Anthony Cassamassina and he is from New York. If you look up his crime record he has been arrested for looting a church in a graveyard, theft, and stealing stained glass windows from another church. After seeing this a reddit forum continued doing research on him and it appeared that the video is real. It was filmed in the 1980s and according to an article in the New York times he was born in 1958 (putting him in his mid to late 20s in the video) and he is still alive. If you look up his mugshot the similarities are immediately apparent.
Duuuude I remember watching the Centrifuge Brain Project when I was like 10 or 12, and actually rediscovered it earlier this year. Honestly though, as someone who actually finds absurd and crazy contraptions really cool to watch, the video doesn't so much scare me or give me horror vibes, as much as it makes me wonder how they came up with the ideas and what it might be like to ride one or something XD
I'm amazed at how many of these videos I completely forgot abou!t There are even a few news ones I'm going to have to check out now! xD It was nice going down memory lane! Thank you!
I already wrote a comment about it, but you are literally my fav "weird side of internet" creator ever, your videos are so enjoyable and interesting, i know that this will be good as well
I feel like a bad internet investigator/ weird internet fan for knowing as few of rhese as i do! Thank you for making such a comprehensive compilation. Excellent video as always! Also yes, if you added more things into a finalized, full version of the vid, id watch it. Thanks!

I mean its a little connected. Its literally called the newmaker plane
Wow
pretty sure Julie and Candy is also not inspired by it either, it's named after characters from a porn film and said porn film is used as samples on other songs on the album.

honestly to me it seemed more like a joke, like oh no! Someone stole the suits! Who couldve done this!
His sister and her band mates could have still stolen them.
This is exactly what I needed right now. The nostalgia is real.
Your vids is great too!
oh hey, it's you! love ur vids as well.
Its very cool that young(er) people like you are making their own channels to talk about their love of creepy media just like we who lived through the early ages of the internet.

A kylie, Maverick Files/T6, and Lore Lodge video all in one day?
And a Wendigoon video yesterday?
Got a feeling it's gonna be a good weekend.
13:39 the music used here is quay-czar [cavestar remix] by dove and mr. Soon
In case anyone was wondering

Glad that you’re making iceberg videos now, that’s how I originally found your channel. I’m sure it’s going to help further boost it as well
You combined two of my favorite things, creepy content and Chypho’s music. Glad I found this video and your account! Look forward to the next part.
"I AM A BANANA" haunts me to this day. So glad this made your list!

So in other words, Matpat pulled a night mind and completely shattered the potential of an new ARG, got it.
@@InvaderBB yeah pretty much. Love that one guy can stunt something so easily
@@InvaderBB What do you mean by that, yeah Matpat is a piece of shit but Night Mind has only ruined one ARG that I can think of
