There are female singers all over the world who are good at singing, but even among them, Amira is not a singer created by humans. People are fascinated and get goosebumps and shed tears. Amira is special.
Well done guys. When you realize that opera is a much more challenging type of singing and to see a nine year old sing in this style, it is so amazing. Something else, here you see the beginning of the Amira wave. Where she is waving to her friends and family there to support her. Today she has continued due to encouragement from her newly formed fan base. So now she is waving to us, her fans. So endearing.
Amira's not only an old soul as one from the jury said, but she's a beautiful soul as well, caring for the needs of others through her charity "Gelukskinders Foundation". This is what the term "child prodigy" means! To clarify a bit of history for you, Amira was self-taught only up to her first audition, which occurred on August 31, 2013. It was not broadcast until October 2013. Andre Rieu watched the broadcast, and invited her to meet him in Maastricht, for a "Master Class", however her Grandmother (in South Africa) died unexpectedly, and Amira went to South Africa to attend the funeral. So the master class with Andre Rieu was in London on 7 December 2013 (i.e. before the semi-finals). Andre taught her not to breathe in the middle of a phrase, and also how to extend her high notes - when you get to her performance with him in July 2014, you will see how Andre allowed Amira to set the tempo, and how he held the orchestra for her high notes. The semi finals and finals were in the last week of December, and Amira won a cross-country foot race a week later in Holland (she had also won it the year before). Immediately after her victory at HGT, she got a singing coach, Maike van der Wiele, and her first recording contract with SONY, and started preparing to record her first album; she received the first Cd on her 10th birthday. So by the time she performed with Andre in July, she had had quite a bit of coaching - and it shows in that performance.

I sometimes go to see operas, jazz concerts, and pop star concerts in many countries, but I don't find many vocalists who can do such beautiful vibrato. Amira is pure, powerful and amazing!

her comment about her future and maybe going to the olympics stems from her activities prior to HGT. She often won mini marathons from the age of seven and beating opponents older than her. Likely where she got the breath bit of holding on to those high notes and the ability to reach them.

On a later occasion she sings in Swedish, it sounds like very ok, I cannot make out every word, but we have a bundle of dialects. I think it is called Gabriella´s song. So, she can even speak or mimic Swedish. When I was 9 I used to catch flies in an empty matchbox, put them in the freezer, and 30 minutes later I took it out and the flies lay there, with all six legs in the air, after a while they thaw and flew merrily away, I guess I will be reborn as a fly in a coming life. It was my degree of development......I get tears in my eyes when I see this. Hope all the best for her.
Great reaction. Amira gob smacks everyone who hears her. She had a cold / chest infection before the semi finals, so she only had minimal rehearsal time for that appearance. Her Andre Rieu performance is something else, I do recommend you watch that, as Andre coached her and helped polish her delivery. You might need a box of tissues handy, it is very moving! One performance that I do find stunning is a different Ave Maria ( the Ave Maria Gomez) which she sang in the Canisius church in holland, in 2015, age 11. ( she sang about 5 songs at that Christmas show - but the A.V. Gomez is the jaw dropper) Her effortless vocal skills are apparent there. The voice warble is called Vibrato. Amira learned to do it by copying Andrew Bocelli on you tube, but she is a natural. Like you I'm not an opera fan, though I like some classical pieces, Amira is like a siren luring me into uncharted waters with her quality singing. I'm enjoying the journey.
When i was young i wouldn't listen to opera, but my father, who was a singer an a choir said to me, wait until you get older. Then i laughed, but now i am just as stunned as you guys are and i can appreciate opera and this girl teared me up
Over 20 playgrounds now plus sports equipment for older children and organised a netball tournament for schools providing the facilities and sports gear to the schools first.

I was happy to see you react to her appearances on Holland's Got Talent after starting a little later in her career. I found the judges reactions to her first appearance to be quite entertaining as well. There seems to be a number of singers around the age of twenty who started amazing us at a young age and are still approaching their prime. We have so much to look forward to!
Thank you so much for this great reaction on my favourite singer! I just want to add a little information: The first audition was recorded in August 2013 and broadcast only in October. Since she got the golden ticket, which equates to the golden buzzer at BGT or AGT, she directly went through to the semi finals. Both the semi finals and the final were broadcast live in December 2013. Just a week before the semi-finals, Amira had a bad cold with fever and a sore throat and was therefore unable to attend rehearsals. Of course you can hear that she wasn't completely healthy again when she performed the "Ave Maria". All the more impressive that she was still able to convince the audience and ultimately won the final with more than 50% of the audience votes!
Ave Maria is prayer in song form. It is the Hail Mary. Amira knows that and you see her praying as she sings. Their is the emotions. Keep in mind on Nessun Dorma. After singing she finds out she wins. The confetti comes down and emotions high. Then they asked her to sing it again in closing. She sings it even better. Metal and opera are not too terribly far apart in a lot of ways. The 9 year old little girl brought tears to my eyes, her God given ability and that angelic voice! Look at her eyes, something goes into her, OR something that's always there comes out of her. she is AMAZING. Chuey is drooling, rolling around, mesmerized by that voice.
I do feel the golden ticket is a far better recognition for exceptional presentation, what a prize item as a souvenir of achievement that you can keep to remind of something really good. you can't keep a buzzer can you?
Amira remarked in an interview that the audition felt like a dream, but when she woke up next morning, the golden ticket was on the table beside the bed. It's something tangible.

Great reaction for a great talent. I have to admit. Watched your first Amira "Your love" reaction over and over again. Because of the beautiful performance of Amira, orchestra and choir of course, but also BP1's face full of unbelieve and estonishment, the nice comments of BP1 and BP2 in general and BP2's remark about the debut album. I'm so glad you have discovered her, and love your reactions. We, her fans from day one, take such pride in seeing how others react to her, which is a bit of a contradiction as you guys are making money off her, but we love watching your faces, the expletives LOL and the way she hooks everyone in. Her latest interview in Afrikaans was interesting: she is aiming for nine distinctions in her school leaving exams ( the norm is six) and next year, 2023, she will be doing a world tour. So look out for her live performances.
Just a note. Amira moved to South Africa in 2018 and is a South African citizen since 2022. She is finishing school this year and plans to study music and drama at university.

Only after the first song in the competition in 2013, there were more than 56 million on TH-cam views. Paul Potts won the first BGT, Susan Boyle was second to the dance group Diversity if I'm not mistaken. Love BGT and AGT, and often go back and rewatch my fave auditions. If you haven't seen it, you should check out Puddles Pity Party on AGT singing Sia's Chandelier. It's so odd, but strangely satisfying at the same time. I don't think it's reaction material, but definitely an 'if you have a spare 5 minutes' thing. Anyway, all I can say wow. Wow, wow, wow. Hi guys I have only just come across your channel tonight and the fact you were reacting to Amira. Like you opera was quite a hard listen with what I thought were difficult to listen to. I found Amira by just having a scroll through TH-cam,, but on hearing her l listened to her virtually every day and she made me cry by the purity, naturalness and her incredible range I personally don't think there is better, as good a perhaps maybe, I just think it's her presence and unforced voice. I stand corry on this but I did read she could sing in 12 languages and speak 3 fluently. Another amazing aspect to Amira is that she set up a foundation that gave schools in South Africa, playgrounds at least 12, what a beautiful heart she has, I hope you cover more of her, and if you feel the tears coming, it is the beauty of the music

There are female singers all over the world who are good at singing, but even among them, Amira is not a singer created by humans. People are fascinated and get goosebumps and shed tears. Amira is special.
Well done guys. When you realize that opera is a much more challenging type of singing and to see a nine year old sing in this style, it is so amazing. Something else, here you see the beginning of the Amira wave. Where she is waving to her friends and family there to support her. Today she has continued due to encouragement from her newly formed fan base. So now she is waving to us, her fans. So endearing.
Amira's not only an old soul as one from the jury said, but she's a beautiful soul as well, caring for the needs of others through her charity "Gelukskinders Foundation". This is what the term "child prodigy" means! To clarify a bit of history for you, Amira was self-taught only up to her first audition, which occurred on August 31, 2013. It was not broadcast until October 2013. Andre Rieu watched the broadcast, and invited her to meet him in Maastricht, for a "Master Class", however her Grandmother (in South Africa) died unexpectedly, and Amira went to South Africa to attend the funeral. So the master class with Andre Rieu was in London on 7 December 2013 (i.e. before the semi-finals). Andre taught her not to breathe in the middle of a phrase, and also how to extend her high notes - when you get to her performance with him in July 2014, you will see how Andre allowed Amira to set the tempo, and how he held the orchestra for her high notes. The semi finals and finals were in the last week of December, and Amira won a cross-country foot race a week later in Holland (she had also won it the year before). Immediately after her victory at HGT, she got a singing coach, Maike van der Wiele, and her first recording contract with SONY, and started preparing to record her first album; she received the first Cd on her 10th birthday. So by the time she performed with Andre in July, she had had quite a bit of coaching - and it shows in that performance.

I sometimes go to see operas, jazz concerts, and pop star concerts in many countries, but I don't find many vocalists who can do such beautiful vibrato. Amira is pure, powerful and amazing!

her comment about her future and maybe going to the olympics stems from her activities prior to HGT. She often won mini marathons from the age of seven and beating opponents older than her. Likely where she got the breath bit of holding on to those high notes and the ability to reach them.

On a later occasion she sings in Swedish, it sounds like very ok, I cannot make out every word, but we have a bundle of dialects. I think it is called Gabriella´s song. So, she can even speak or mimic Swedish. When I was 9 I used to catch flies in an empty matchbox, put them in the freezer, and 30 minutes later I took it out and the flies lay there, with all six legs in the air, after a while they thaw and flew merrily away, I guess I will be reborn as a fly in a coming life. It was my degree of development......I get tears in my eyes when I see this. Hope all the best for her.

Great reaction. Amira gob smacks everyone who hears her. She had a cold / chest infection before the semi finals, so she only had minimal rehearsal time for that appearance. Her Andre Rieu performance is something else, I do recommend you watch that, as Andre coached her and helped polish her delivery. You might need a box of tissues handy, it is very moving!
One performance that I do find stunning is a different Ave Maria ( the Ave Maria Gomez) which she sang in the Canisius church in holland, in 2015, age 11. ( she sang about 5 songs at that Christmas show - but the A.V. Gomez is the jaw dropper) Her effortless vocal skills are apparent there.
The voice warble is called Vibrato. Amira learned to do it by copying Andrew Bocelli on you tube, but she is a natural.
Like you I'm not an opera fan, though I like some classical pieces, Amira is like a siren luring me into uncharted waters with her quality singing. I'm enjoying the journey.

When i was young i wouldn't listen to opera, but my father, who was a singer an a choir said to me, wait until you get older. Then i laughed, but now i am just as stunned as you guys are and i can appreciate opera and this girl teared me up
Not just that, she's a BEAUTIFUL HUMAN BEING,!! She's made several playgrounds I Africa cause she noticed there weren't any for the kids to play!
Over 20 playgrounds now plus sports equipment for older children and organised a netball tournament for schools providing the facilities and sports gear to the schools first.

I was happy to see you react to her appearances on Holland's Got Talent after starting a little later in her career. I found the judges reactions to her first appearance to be quite entertaining as well. There seems to be a number of singers around the age of twenty who started amazing us at a young age and are still approaching their prime. We have so much to look forward to!
Thank you so much for this great reaction on my favourite singer! I just want to add a little information: The first audition was recorded in August 2013 and broadcast only in October. Since she got the golden ticket, which equates to the golden buzzer at BGT or AGT, she directly went through to the semi finals. Both the semi finals and the final were broadcast live in December 2013. Just a week before the semi-finals, Amira had a bad cold with fever and a sore throat and was therefore unable to attend rehearsals. Of course you can hear that she wasn't completely healthy again when she performed the "Ave Maria". All the more impressive that she was still able to convince the audience and ultimately won the final with more than 50% of the audience votes!

Ave Maria is prayer in song form. It is the Hail Mary. Amira knows that and you see her praying as she sings. Their is the emotions. Keep in mind on Nessun Dorma. After singing she finds out she wins. The confetti comes down and emotions high. Then they asked her to sing it again in closing. She sings it even better. I have never seen Amira to have nerves. Ever.
Metal and opera are not too terribly far apart in a lot of ways. The 9 year old little girl brought tears to my eyes, her God given ability and that angelic voice! Look at her eyes, something goes into her, OR something that's always there comes out of her. she is AMAZING. Chuey is drooling, rolling around, mesmerized by that voice.

Amira remarked in an interview that the audition felt like a dream, but when she woke up next morning, the golden ticket was on the table beside the bed. It's something tangible.

Great reaction for a great talent. I have to admit. Watched your first Amira "Your love" reaction over and over again. Because of the beautiful performance of Amira, orchestra and choir of course, but also BP1's face full of unbelieve and estonishment, the nice comments of BP1 and BP2 in general and BP2's remark about the debut album. Funny and entertaining.
Her performance with Andre Rieu was also impressive. And that all said by a Nightwish and Floor fan. Music does a lot.

I'm so glad you have discovered her, and love your reactions. We, her fans from day one, take such pride in seeing how others react to her, which is a bit of a contradiction as you guys are making money off her, but we love watching your faces, the expletives LOL and the way she hooks everyone in. Her latest interview in Afrikaans was interesting: she is aiming for nine distinctions in her school leaving exams ( the norm is six) and next year, 2023, she will be doing a world tour. So look out for her live performances.
Just a note. Amira moved to South Africa in 2018 and is a South African citizen since 2022. She is finishing school this year and plans to study music and drama at university.

Looking for next performance? There is a lot of material from Amira. At this point I would go to “ave Maria gomez”. She is eleven in this performance. You see her amazing vocal control at such an early age.

I don't want Amira to be with that woman in the TH-cam comments that Amira sings about, and there are people who comment that a woman of the same age as Amira is a world star. This is because Amira's songs make a pure and beautiful singing voice resound in people's hearts ♪ Each person has different tastes. Because Amira is a woman who hastily step by step and grows as she ages.
This is as incredible for 9-year old Amira as "I Put a Spell on You" was incredible for 9-year old Angelina! Both are epic and will be part of musical history!
Only after the first song in the competition in 2013, there were more than 56 million on TH-cam views. These three (excerpts from operas and Ave Maria) plays, even with some errors in the text, will forever remain among the highest human capabilities and evoke emotions with tears in everyone who touches art, because art is born only in conditions of ease and love for him. While Amira would be taught notes,portable, I think her love for opera would have faded, and at the end of each victorious song on stage she would have cried, and not smiled so cheerfully and naturally.
She could sing anything but Opera really fits her big soprano voice and for her to choose opera at that age is amazing. Most 9-year-olds are trying to sing pop hits.
How nice that you react on all the three HGT songs in one time!! And "Nessun Dorma": after Amira had received her Award for winning the contest a few minutes later she pulled it of a second time.... Awesome stuff. As you I am not such a classical music guy, but this is so beautiful and hear Amira now at the age of 18: so impressive. I follow her since a few years now. A collegue reactor from you ("Soprano Note") did also a reaction on Amira's Nessun Dorma. It's a more technical aproache because that reactor is a professional soprano: a look inside vocal technics. I think you will like it.
Paul Potts won the first BGT, Susan Boyle was second to the dance group Diversity if I'm not mistaken. Love BGT and AGT, and often go back and rewatch my fave auditions. If you haven't seen it, you should check out Puddles Pity Party on AGT singing Sia's Chandelier. It's so odd, but strangely satisfying at the same time. I don't think it's reaction material, but definitely an 'if you have a spare 5 minutes' thing.
Anyway, all I can say wow. Wow, wow, wow. You can react to Amira every day for a month, and I would watch and enjoy them all. She's absolutely amazing. Blown away.

Cheers for the correct information on BGT winners, I checked up the the winners and the years, it was so long ago and yet almost like yesterday.
We have done a reaction to Puddle once with Post Modern Jukebox, it was interesting and he has a great voice.
We took ourselves by surprise on this one to be honest as we had no idea how impressive Amira was going to be.
You never know what you are going to see next and that's what keeps this reaction stuff so much fun.

Hi guys I have only just come across your channel tonight and the fact you were reacting to Amira. Like you opera was quite a hard listen with what I thought were difficult to listen to. I found Amira by just having a scroll through TH-cam,, but on hearing her l listened to her virtually every day and she made me cry by the purity, naturalness and her incredible range I personally don't think there is better, as good a perhaps maybe, I just think it's her presence and unforced voice. I stand corry on this but I did read she could sing in 12 languages and speak 3 fluently. Another amazing aspect to Amira is that she set up a foundation that gave schools in South Africa, playgrounds at least 12, what a beautiful heart she has, I hope you cover more of her, and if you feel the tears coming, it is the beauty of the music
