If you have a Mitsubishi Mirage and it 5+ year old buy a tool and clone the TPMS sensors in the car. Have them on the shelf ready to go when one OEM ones go. If you end up with a dead one then you may end up at the dealer or a shop and paying like $100+ to get the car programed. IT's a PIA and the Mirage forum has a post on how much it is a PIA.
Question. I have '15 Mustang tires/wheels on my '14 Mustang. The '15 has a variable signal and shows actual pressure on the dash. My '14 only shows a warning light at low pressure. Will this tool be able to make the '15 sensor compatible with the '14? Does it have the capability to re-program with the sensor in the tires? Great review!
Good question! I do know you can reprogram with them in the tire. Out of the tire you can program up to 16 at one time. As for making one compatible with the other, I’m not completely sure. The variable may be if it can be read as a stand alone and not have interference via the OBD port. If you go this route, let me know what you found out.
Hi Scott I was talking with my local Napa in Riverhead, NY 11901 and they were only aware of the tool kit with 8 sensors. Can you help me out I am looking I’m for the 25 sensors and the 508WF. Thank you!
Have the store to come tact their tool rep (District Sales Manager) I’m not sure who that is there but can find out. The details are still good through the end of the year. Buy 20 1SENSOR and get the tool free. Buy 30 and get the WiFi version of the tool for free. The tool has to be ordered via a special form with Autel and ship within a week or so after the tpms purchase
Hi. I asked local NAPA Canby, IN and they knew nothing about the promotion. How does it work? Is this a rebate type program where you purchase sensors and tool and are then reimbursed?
It’s a national program, the store employee must not have been aware of. We have several things going so things often get lost between the cracks at times. The plan is, buy 20, 30, or 125 sensors and get a free tool. 20 gets you a TS508, 30 is the TS508WF, and 125 is the TS608 which does more than just TPMS. There is a form to fill out from the store (District Managers have these forms) and the tool will come to you for free after the purchase of the sensors.
Are you 100% sure the 508 can actually reprogram (modify the code) on non-MX sensors? I've read reviews that it cannot, and I know the slightly older 408 cannot.
You will need to contact your local NAPA. If they don’t know the details, ask for the number of their district tools and equipment manager and they can fill you in.
I have one more question before i order the too,only one oem sensor is bad on my car,can i but 1 autel sensor and program it to the car even i leave the other 3 oem sensors?thanks
That’s odd, the district manager there is leading our region is sales. You found a lazy employee or one uneducated in the program. Contact the store and tell them to reach out to Tom Smith, the Tools and Equipment district manager and he can get them and you set up today. I’m reaching out to him now to give him a heads up.
NAPA? WHAT A JOKE, they won't stand behind their belt warranty, or anything else they sell probably. No napa, never!, EVER AGAIN!! That belt cost them thousands from my shop!
It will work on any car. Keep in mind if you’re looking to program new sensors it will only work on OE and Autel MX sensors. But as far as reading it will read any sensor pending the sensor is still good

It will not. It will read them, just not program them.
Will this TS508WF activate "pre-programmed" Schrader TPMS new sensors on a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze?
That’s a great question! My answer would lean towards no though that is an educated guess at this point.

No it will not. Only MX sensors. It can read and relearn OE senosors and placement

How can I change the tire pressure thresholds for bigger tires ?
You may need a different scan tool for this setting. I’m sure there’s a way to do it but can’t say I’ve ever done it.

They can get it, ask your store to contact Kent Wadley. He can assist the store in getting inventory. Otherwise, Advance Auto may have them in stock.
But It can read OEM IDs and then clone XM sensors though, right?

As long as you use Autel you can. It won’t program Schrader, Echlin, etc.

How do you read aftermarket tpms sensors installed already? Tia.
All TPMS tools will read the sensors, it just can’t reprogram them.

It will read any sensor. Program only OEM and Autel.
