This dude must be high on drugs...what a comment!!!😂😂😂 The Nigerian Air-force is far from being the most elite in Africa. In fact, they only have tokumbo jets. Egypt has the most elite military forces in Africa.
I commend our SUPER-BRAVE Men and Women in the Armed Forces. These MIG 21s and Alpha Jets are way way way too old for today battle arena. We need to upgrade URGENTLY as I'd not be surprised if these planes are shutdown by common catapults. 4th Gen Fighters like the French Dassault Rafale, the Eurofighter Typhoon, F 16s, etc are affordable and would be much better than these toys we're flying today.
I don't know who made and released this documentary on NAF but it has not given proper attention to the most advanced weapons in the NAF inventory, the Winglong II Drones and CAC/PAC JF-17 Thunders. Instead, Leonardo's M-346 Trainers were given more coverage which has not yet been delivered to NAF.
Well said but Nigeria hasn't got neighbours or adversaries with more sophisticated platforms. Our foreign policy isn't aggressive so there isn't a dire need for ultra advanced platforms. The only problem we face is internal insurgency which we have air superiority to fight against. For that even, the NAF has added newer platforms like the JF17, Super Tucano and M-346 which are well suited for the kind of our kind of operations. War is an expensive endeavour and maintaining older planes that are still functional saves cost after all there's no need killing a fly with a hammer if you've got a swatter.
