God forbid a band do something different and not be as heavy as they used to be. That always gets butthurt from the elitists but it was a really good album.

@@UndeadOmens I'm perfectly fine with change that has commitment behind it (e.g bmth amo), but Misery sounded like they wanted to rip off bmth but didn't know how to do it, resulting in a corny and overdone mess. While "all my friends are dead" isn't the most original title, the verses are solid and chorus is catchy without it being annoying and dragging on (looking at you D.I.E). This sounds much more like a band going in a different direction, but a direction they are well suited for (Joel on Cursed Earth's new album was sick). Relying more on Joel's killer screams for verses and Ahren to back it up with catchy choruses is what amity does well on their older albums and it's on show here, even if the genre of the song is more towards the extreme.
Love Ahren's woooohooooo in the chorus! Almost as much as I love his subtle whoa oh oh in the chorus of My Father's Son. Literally live for those background harmonies!
Would love to hear more dynamic vocals from Ahren, he often sings slower parts of the songs for the past 2 albums. I miss youngbloods/chasing ghosts choruses

I don’t usually comment but OH MY GOD. This is amazing. I wasn’t overly keen back in the early days of amity but after youngbloods I really got into them. Chasing Ghosts and Let the ocean became my favourite albums. Heartbreak was alright but preferred the others. Misery I actually strangely REALLY liked because it was different and some of the lyrical content really hit home with me. But this...really blew everything out the water. Hope the next album is in a similar vein!

everyone has their opinions, i'm not there to start shit, juste make the conversation! i started the amity music with let the ocean take me who in my opinion was the best record they ever did ! i listened to chasing ghost and i got a second boner ! this could be heartbreak was awesome too! i just lost connection on misery. discovering new directions is a part of being a fully accomplished artists/band and i know that! it took me a couple of repeats to finally dig ;drag the lake, die and ivy but i didnt felt the same as for the other albums ! they dont need my opinion to do their job and i still really love them, but i am fucking stoked to hear this one !
