1985 was a fantastic year for Rock and Metal, with a lot of diversity (and quality, of course). In my opinion, the 80's was the last decade when mainstream and underground were able to coexist. My personal Top 3 for 1985 is Dokken/John Mellencamp/Loudness. I'd also like to add these albums on this list: - Rogue Male: First Visit - Tobruk: Wild On The Run - Warfare: Metal Anarchy - Liege Lord: Freedom's Rise - Yngwie Malmsteen: Marching Out - Honeymoon Suite: The Big Prize - Rough Cutt: S/T - Silver Mountain: Universe - Poison Dollys: S/T - Smack: Rattlesnake Bite - Orphan: Salute - Pentagram: S/T - INXS: Listen Likes Thieves - The Pogues: Rum Sodomy & The Lash - Chris Isaak: Silvertone - The Sisters Of Mercy: First And Last And Always - John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band: Tough All Over - Cruzados: S/T - The Del-Fuegos: Boston, Mass. - Lone Justice: S/T - Til Tuesday: Voices Carry - The Alarm: Strength - The Smiths: Meat Is Murder
I think 1982-1993 was a fantastic years for rock and metal. As for the mainstream and the underground, I completely agree with you. Thank you for your list and very interesting opinion! 💥🎸✌️.

As well as Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey had a good yet underrated solo album out that year - Under a Raging Moon.
You know, I really missed this album, honestly, I agree with you, it's an underrated album!!!
