Think about how many times he's lapped this circuit, and how many times he's been right on the edge of a catastrophic mistake just in order to gain an extra tenth. Pure madness😂

I remember reading from one of the racers about the paint marks left on some of the stone walls. The marks were intentional from racer's helmets, being their 'feeler gauge' that they were at the limit. That was maybe 30 years ago I read the bio. Can't remember by who.

Only watched TT once for 30 seconds on bray hill and nearly had a heart attack.. never went to see i again in the 17 years i lived there.

It hits different when you've ridden, learned to ride hard, and kept coming out the other side with bugs in your teeth from smiling so hard.
I remember watching Joey Dunlop on one of his record breaking races. At ginger hall, on the 1st lap, his head was inches from a stone wall. We were shocked at how near he was, and just amazed, when he repeated it each lap! 😮

Michael Dunlop (the guy in this clip) alone has had 3 family members slain racing motorbikes.
Love it even though I can’t have a motorcycle anymore. that was my dad’s last dying words. No more motorcycles for me so I can do is sit back and watch other people have fun on motorcycles I love superbikes everybody keep riding just for me.

That's beyond the limit for everyone apart from him. He was riding the ditches in a few places thos year. He judged it to perfection every time. That's the fastest way round that corner if you're brace enough and good enough. Truly remarkable

I was very lucky to spend time with his lovely family back in the day. Sadly, not under the best circumstances as Robert was in nobles in the bed next to my partner at the time. They were just so nice. I also comforted Joey after the bad smash of 7 at the Southern as he pulled his bike in next to me in as I was waiting on my rider. That man was ghostly white. He was just shaking his head saying he had never seen anything like that in his life whilst I just cuddled him 🥺. It’s a big balls game, but these guys are still human inside 🥰
