0:34 track off of siding used to run 2 miles down to a gravel/ballast pit till the late 80s 0:48 is location of 60 mph Train VS Loaded Fuel Semi trailer (1991??) Engineer, Conductor, Brakeman and truck driver died. Memorial is off to the left at 0:53. 1:12 was a long timber tresle until filled in the 1950s? with reject from the pit. Yes long tangent track, but a couple of miles later the second longest tangent track in Canada begins (43? miles) . The longest 56?miles runs parallel to that track about 30 miles south called the Alliance Sub now a short line.

Shit I wish we could go that fast, 20mph is track speed most places in northern BC, but we also have up to 4% grades, 10 miles long with curves, tunnels and bridges, so 60per you'd be in the woods

Wow the sound of the engines. And the horn. A freight train can go fast here. It s all dead flat. I ve seen a video in France for a passenger train with the snow and the diesel sound. Going 140, 150 km/h,. That's 90mph.. Flying.

Ahem...level crossings--This fellow didn't space the whistle blasts properly. First long; beginning at the "W"--correct. Second long...he waits until he's almost on top of the crossing. I get it; they're infrequently used country crossings. However; if I was giving him his three year train handling skills exam...I wouldn't let that go by unnoticed.

Depending on the train speed; one fellow started the - - . - sequence a couple of hundred feet before reaching the "W" post. Very safety & rule conscious. He wanted to give more warning to motorists; etc.
