I WISH I COULDDD but I have yet to figure out how he makes his kicks. I've only got one successful attempt at making one but it's meh compared to the stuff he makes.
overdrive and color are important. overdrive the kick, filter it in the mids to a somewhat sharp point, put some low end sounds in there too if you like, then you apply a distortion filter. Then you gotta put in another equalization filter, and put the mids where the mids go in a sharp point. you should then do a final distortion filter and chances are, you got a pretty good kick.
You are way too underrated anyway keep doing these amusing tut's. What i don't understand 6:30 you got your high and low pitched kicks and like we can see on 6:35. When i do this in WAV file, the kick keep the same (no pitch) and when i put it into MP3 the pitch comes in but when the kick loop is bigger then a 4x4 kick channel rack it overflows with the kick behind. With WAV if your kick is like 5 sec's long, it doesnt overflow and is very smooth but no pitching effect
You have to go into the sampler settings and click cut self, and make sure all of the yellow timing knobs are at 0 percent in the sampler as well. They change to the BPM if there's orange markers on the visualizer at the bottom of the sampler, however I'm not exactly sure how it works, just make sure there's no markers by getting rid of them in Edison, usually there's no markers if you set it to wait for an input instead of on play, a setting next to the record button.
You just open up the sample, go to the settings page, click "cut to self" or something along those lines (I'm not on my computer,) and then go to the piano roll and select the kick sample, then always make sure the velocity at the bottom is dragged all the way up
