Fort Myers here, thinking about all my Florida neighbors. 2 yrs to get over Ian and here we are again, along with all of our state, and all the hurricanes since Ian. I am praying for us all. Prayers will not change the course of the storm, but at least we're all with each other in thought.
Prayer can change anything. Let’s keep praying and believing that.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This is a nice comment. Thank you.

agreed…and as long as we’re shipping crude from the other side of the globe in massive tankers - hundreds of tankers per day- burning millions in diesel to get it to our ports here in the USA then it’ll keep getting g worse. But hey, you Leftists dont think about THAT, now do you? You also don’t think of all the solar panels manufactured across the globe with petroleum and shipped here (with diesel ) in enormous container ships so you can feel good about yourself - only to throw them in the landfill (they’re not recyclable you know) after they’ve stopped functioning in 18-20 years. You leftists have it all figured out, don’t you?
Dear Heavenly Father, please keep that away from us, shift that way South and away from landfall. Amen.

People you have plenty of time to prepare. After you gas up, get water food, etc.. I have a piece of advise from going through some hurricanes in the past. Don't forget to wash your clothes!! I lost count of people that went to work and said they had no clean clothes. Wash every bit of laundry you have. You might be out of power for days to weeks.
Very good advise! I did that before Ian hit us (Ft. Myers) and doing laundry tomorrow in case power goes out.
Also, fill tubs and buckets with water. In case you lose power and have no access to water supply. that way, you can at least bathe in that and also flush the toilet

Is nobody else concerned this storm is so strong so soon after Helene? There shouldn't be enough energy in the gulf for this
It's called weather. You can have 1 snowstorm after another.
There are layers upon layers of warm energized waters beneath the waves of the waters in the Gulf of Mexico for a hurricane to pull strength from.
Is that a serious question? "Is nobody else concerned this storm is so strong so soon after Helene?" You think no one but YOU is concerned? 🤨

@@mischaraine1645 I’m with you…I’d rather be over prepared and safe than underprepared and scrambling like an insane person. We see it every season here - don’t we? People panic buying and clearing the shelves of every drop of water without consideration for anyone else. One tip I learned that I’ll share: If you store your ice chest/cooler in the garage, bring it in at least 48 hours before you’ll need it. First 24 hours to allow it to cool to room temp; then, next day go ahead and put ice in it to prechill it for a day before adding perishables. I used to bring it inright from the garage and fill it with ice only to have the ice melt quickly because the cooler was sitting in the hot garage. Stay safe!
@@lizzieb6311 Thanks for the tip! I'm a Florida girl, born and raised in the Keys. I used to be one of those typical Conchs, unbothered by hurricanes. But, the recent storms have been intense and unpredictable. Definitely better safe than sorry.

She's doing what they all do - underestimating the rapid intensification. You can bet it's going to a a Cat 4...at least. Some models already have it there.
RI is almost impossible to predict so it is very hard to balance between overreaction and underreaction. I agree with you though
They do usually seem to err on the conservative side at the beginning, and thing get worse after that. This system has been on the radar for awhile, and they were saying it was nothing to worry about a few days ago.

Not sure but still be prepared days in advance
Nah, you'll be ok up there. I'm directly in it's path, but we'll suck it up like the many other storms that hit my house in 29yrs..
I’m in the manatee county area. We’re still cleaning up after helene hit. Anybody that lives by water and coastal areas got hit pretty hard by storm surge. My main worry besides this hurricane is the amount of SEWAGE manatee county is going to dump into the manatee river and claim it as an “accident”. I’m also worried about them releasing water from the dam, like they did months back with little warning. They SEVERELY flooded the country side, and almost every 1-lane road (cause that’s all we have here along with MULTIPLE neighbors being built) was closed off so there was only ONE main entrance available. Inland areas are going to suffer a lot, be prepared for the worst!
I know the coast is still reeling from Helene and my heart goes out to everyone affected by it I just hope this storm avoids the Carolinas
Thank you very much for the weather report so we can be alert💕
RUNNNNNNNN! !!
It would be my bad luck that this thing curves north into Eastern NC. I hope not. Eastern NC is oversaturated just as the mountains were before Helene. If there is even a tropical storm it will heavily flood all rivers. Just this past week there was minor flooding from just a short 5 minute afternoon shower since it couldn't soak into the ground.
Maybe people will heed evacuate if advised to do so.
Ask Alexa if Milton is being cloud seeded.
