My personal works at toxworks.com/ I noticed that this song was missing here. Why? It's a great song. From the album 'Scheherazade and other stories' It's the full music in just one video. Do enjoy!
Love this song. I used to play it in my record store all the time. My customers probably got sick of it but I never did. Annie Haslam’s voice really got to me. Still does.
I named Annie my top female vocalist of all time on my radio show here in St Louis. She was kind enough to join me the next day. What a tremendous talent and lovely lady. She is even donating one of her paintings to a charity auction I am holding. They don't make music like this anymore. I'm so glad they are doing a few Midwestern dates this fall.
@Iggy Strode I call you a lucky person Iggy.the song is very capturing.she must've gone out of her mind to find the people missing at the fair.they must have boarded a flying saucer last time I heard this song was 46 years ago.very happy I found this song and who played it.be cool Iggy, wish you well
Man I just heard this song for the first time on the radio garden app on an Irish classic rock station how have I never heard this incredible song before I am 61 years old here in California now I will have to check out their entire catalog
WOW I haven't heard this since December of 1986!I was 9 Yrs old and my best friend/ roommate Susan?I think that was her name? Introduced me to this song I LOVE LOVE this song I listened to it over and over and drove my older sister lisa nuts Susan? Made me a tape of this song called a "trip to the fair" so I didn't know the name of the band who did this song I only knew the song title and I finally found it 😍💜👍🏻I just wish I could Also find my friend who introduced me to this song I miss her she was like a real older sister to me she was good to me I miss her friendship
when this album first came out I was fascinated by the music, it was eerie and haunting in places. This band was truly ahead of its time and was not really given the notice they should have had
I was heavily into their first 3 albums when this was released, close friends and i proudly piled it on top of everything else we were listening to at the time...Genesis, Yes, Crimson, Nektar, Focus, E. L. P., The Strawbs, The Moody Blues,Pink Floyd, Santana...to name a few. To those of you whose parents turned you on to it all....lucky, lucky you!!.....peace

That beginning can not be matched by any other group (a few exceptions) in how amazing it is...listening to this song is like being in a state of euphoria, and Annie Haslam is the best female vocalist in all of rock music.
Some of the most beautiful bass-playing I have ever heard is on this album. It's right up front. You could call it "lead bass" in similar fashion to "lead guitar". This song, in particular is a story in itself and the music plays such a big part in telling the story, especially when the thousands of faces appear. The jazz celesta solo is so unique as well. Annie's voice is so very beautiful as well as the beautiful harmony singing. A true classic.
@@popgrubbsChris Squire is not in this band, I believe he's in a band named Yes.The incredibly talented Jon Camp was the bass player in this band Renaissance who in my opinion makes Yes look like pikers.
@@williamhiggins842 I probably didn't include enough info in my post. I was mentioning to the OP that Chris Squire was a bass player who plays lead in a band. Yes is my favorite band of all time, I'm very familiar with their work. Though I did get to see them several times, I did get to see Yes in one of Chris' last concerts before he passed away. It was a sad day to be a Yes fan in that it was an outdoor concert and it was 95 degrees out and Chris was visibly affected by the heat and was often bending over trying to catch his breath. Steve Howe simply could not keep up with he rest of the band and their sound was dramatically affected by it. Honestly, it was hard to watch as a big Yes fan.
I CAME ACROSS THIS GREAT WORK, BY NETWORKING, BY MYSELF, WITHOUT THE BBC, BY PEN-PAL, PRE-INTERNET, 30 YEARS BEFORE INTERNET, NOW THE INTERNET IS HERE, I WANT TO SEND OUT, THIS GREAT SONG, TO THE, WORLD WIDE WEB, AND BEYOND.
This is so great to be able to listen to this again. I started listening when I was 10 years old back in the early seventies. My older brother let me listen to his records and use his stereo back then. The minute I heard Annie and Renaissance I fell in love. The greatest female singer ever and my favorite for all time. And even now she can still do it. There are some videos of Annie and Renaissance from 2010 and she still sounds like an angel. Check it out.
I LOVE this track from this album. I first heard this tape when me, my father, and my sister were cleaning out the basement, and my dad found a bunch of tapes that he had for a long time, and he discovered this tape! I listened to the tape, and realized that this song, and it instantly became a favorite of mine for ages. Recently a friend and I were doing some cleaning, and I found the tape. Thank God I have two stereos that still play audio cassettes. So I listened to this song on the cassette...and I teared up with tears of nostalgia. Thanks for posting :-D
This wonderful track was my introduction to Renaissance - many thanks to Ron Manton, who ran the best local record store in western Sydney in the 1970s and knew what I'd probably like - and I did! Reflecting now, I can hear not only the classical influences, but some fantastic folk and jazz stuff going on as well...this one track perhaps distills everything Renaissance did so well. On a recent family holiday, I felt very proud of myself for sitting on an oceanside deck and nutting out the chords on my guitar - even if my 60-something male voice was little match with Annie's glorious tones. Happy times!
