  • Recently, we just found that many of our customers are turning to immersion cooling solutions for home mining. Compared with traditional air cooling plans, immersion cooling system provides a more stable , safer but noiseless home mining solutions, and more importantly, it is easy to maintain.
    Today I will show you how to remove the fan, clean the dust and install the fan emulator.This video will take Antminer as an example, all the tools you will use are screwdriver, brush, air pump and fan simulator.
    After the installation is completed, we can put the miner directly into the immersion cooling container, such as FogHashing's C1 or B6, and then we can start the exciting mining journey.

    the lack of noise is a big plus for me , the only thing that kind of holds me back is wat if the miner breaks down and you need to repair an asic on one of the boards , by lifting it out of its tub the thing is now a greasy mess once you take it out and is dripping everywhere so put it on a rack over the tub and leave it till its finished dripping ...... that be about 3 hours lost mining allready and you havent put a screwdriver on it yet
    ok quick walk to the bathroom where you at least can flush the oil away intoo the showerdrain .....how do you flush the machine from the oil still sticking to it after that to get rid of most of the oil before taking the screws out whout getting filty up to youre armpits and getting greasestains on everything you tough (need to go to the bathroom , better plan in advance)
    will the tin still flow on the chips and the heatsink as it would be pretty contaminated will alcohol be enough to spotclean the surface
    and with the upgraded bigger heatsinks will the termal paste desolve in the oil reducing the thermal connection to the heatsink
    allso before inmerging the wole thing you probably need to take off the important labels (serial numbers etc ) stick to the housing as they probably peel off after some time inmerged
    since im planning to use an antminer the housings are the same throughout the range , might take the boards from a new miner out of its housing and put it in a used housing storing the new one for when its time to sell and then drop it in the oil that leaves the outside at least looking like new
    come to think of it , might be a market for housings that are watertight to be used both for mounting everything intoo but allso as the tank basicly an enclosed housing with gaskets and a entry and exit bung for the oil

      Yes, you are right. For air-cooled mining machines, it requires certain procedures to modify them. However, liquid cooling is usually more stable and it is not common to repair mining machines, so cleaning mining machines is also a very small probability event. At present, Whatsminer has launched oil-cooled mining machines, which do not need to be modified and have official warranty. This is also a trend.

    I had thought you need to use an ultrasonic cleaner before immersion. Is just removing surface dust sufficient? What about the embedded dust/dirt which is not currently loose? Won't that come loose or dissolve into the fluid?

    • @foghashing
      @foghashing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes,These steps are enough to clean a general mining machine. If it is really dirty after running for a long time, an ultrasonic cleaner will be needed.

    Is it ok for the fans to run inside the immersion cooling oil for KAS Miner KS5 in C6? If not why not?

      @foghashing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello, for all air-cooled mining machines, if you want to use liquid cooling, you need to remove the large fan.

    How about fan for the power supply?is it need to use fan emulator for power supply fan?

    • @foghashing
      @foghashing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Different mining machines have different requirements. The power supply fans of most mining machines need to be removed, and they do not require additional fan simulators. But for Iceriver, it cannot remove the power supply fan, otherwise it will not work.

    Can we use immersion cooling for S19 K Pro 120 th with out reduce miners fan means put miner with fan in oil contener??? Yes than why?? Or no than why?? Please tell me

    • @foghashing
      @foghashing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello, the fan must be removed. Because fans cannot run in liquid, and liquid cooling equipment dissipates heat through oil and does not require a fan.

    Hi, I'm looking for the same instruction for IceRiver KAS KS3M, any chance to have one?
    Does that device need a fan emulator? (I guess there's no overclocking firmware yet for it)

      How did you go finding the answer? Do you need fan emulators for the little fans for KS3M?

    • @TunyacsapHofi
      @TunyacsapHofi 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@alexbaumann3104 if you mean little the PSU fans, no, the emulator is needed only for the main fans AFAIK (the hash board cooling fans), and Fog Hashing support confirmed that they have KS3M specific fan emulators for the main fans

      It can be used in our liquid cooling equipment and also requires the fan simulator. The fan simulator is the same as that used by ordinary Antminers.
