Nice round up. I'll keep my 2022 1250 RT. Put a custom Russell Day Long seat on it and some Clearwater lights for additional visibility, and you're good. BMW lifetime driveshaft replacements every 36000 miles. 25 liter fuel tank. Centerstand, easy to service yourself.
Totally agree, the ST1300 was an amazing touring bike! It’s always a bummer when a great model is discontinued. Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
As an avid BMW rider for over 30 years , I had more re calls than anything else. After the re calls the bikes performed flawless. It takes around 25000 km before a BMW ( boxer) performs well. The only time I changed to a multi strata was on the German autobahn 😂 after 6 hours full throttle the Italian stallion changed in to a macaroni pony. 6000 euros damage. From gears to chain to valves 👎 I traded her in for a moto Guzzi ( wich I love) ❤️
That’s awesome! 👏 The 1988 Gold Wing is a classic, and if it’s still running strong, why change? 😃🏍️ It’s proof that Honda built them to last! How many miles do you have on it? 🔥
Sounds like you’ve got the perfect ride! 🏍️🔥 The 2021 Gold Wing is a beauty, and if it works for you, why change? Keep those wheels rolling and enjoy every mile! 😃✌️
There's something to be said about riding a bike that's tried & true! And from my experience with riding my '98 Honda GL1500 Valkyrie, there ain't nothing like a Gold Wing! Keep Wingin' It my friend.
The Yamaha FJR is an absolute legend! 🏍️🔥 It’s been a top choice for sport-touring riders for years. Definitely a bike that deserves recognition! Do you still ride one, or have you moved on to something else? 😃
That’s awesome! 🔥 The Gen 1 FJR is a beast when it comes to long-distance comfort. 1,600 km non-stop is seriously impressive! 💪🏍️ Do you have any favorite roads or routes for touring? 😃
ducati v4? noway every 250km maximum 。Every time I travel with my friends long distance, my friend's mts V4 is either looking for a gas station or on the way to a gas station. No kidding😂
I guess there is no love for the 2025 Indian Challenger. You put a bunch of duel sport bikes, which is technically not touring, and didn't add a bike that is specifically for touring.
I have a Challenger at age 71. The bike manufacturers seem to have forgotten a couple of things. Those with the means to buy these very expensive bikes are older and generally shorter than the younger folks. With a 30" inseam the low seat, comfortable position, low c of g, it for me is a winning combination. Your mileage may vary.
All of them are wonderful bikes. But you forget to mention minimum 3 Bikes: the old Yamaha FJR 1300, BMW R1300 RT (will come soon), and of course the “small” GoldWing , the new HONDA NT1100 2025. Indeed, I prefer actually HONDA NT 1100 (2025 Version, in Blue), and Kawasaki Versys 1100 (I drove the 1000 GT 3,5 years) … 😎
I hear you! 👍 Some of these bikes are definitely well-known long-distance champs, but we wanted to highlight the best new options for 2025. Are there any hidden gems you think deserve a spot? We'd love to hear your picks! 🏍️😃
Challenge accepted? Exactly! 😃 The Versys 1100 and Tracer 9 GT+ offer a great balance of performance and comfort without the extra weight of bigger tourers. Do you prefer a lighter setup for long rides? 🏍️🔥
@Motorfiled If you travel long distance with camping gear . Bike can not be moore than 260 kg. Or you can end up with big troubbles with weight. But if you like to see hotels and ride with Bmw Adventure it is totally different game .
As much as modern electronics should be a Godsend, I believe you're onto something and that their complexity is undermining the reliability of these otherwise outstanding motorcycles. And it's not just that BMW has issues with its driveshaft! Honda too with the Gen-6 Gold Wing has had multiple recalls on various components. And IMHO, Honda was slow to reponsibility with that transmission bolt shearing wreaking havoc in the Gold Wing's transmission.
That’s a fair point! ✅ Reliability is key for long-distance touring, and while modern electronics add great features, they can also be a concern. Do you have a favorite go-to bike for worry-free long rides? 🏍️🔥
You bring up a solid point! 🤔 While modern electronics add amazing features, they can also introduce reliability concerns. And you're right-no brand is immune to issues, even Honda and BMW. Do you think manufacturers are prioritizing tech over long-term durability? 🏍️
The Honda CT125 is an awesome little adventure machine! 🏍️💨 While it’s not a traditional long-distance tourer, its lightweight and rugged design make it a great choice for off-the-beaten-path adventures. Do you own one or thinking of getting one?
Totally get that! Shaft and belt drives definitely have their advantages for long-distance touring. 🚀 Do you have a go-to touring bike with your preferred setup? 😃🏍️
Great choice! 👍 The Honda XL750 Transalp is a solid adventure tourer with a nice balance of power and versatility. Have you taken one on any long trips?
The real adventure bike any bike is 125cc to 500cc for its light weight.its alot better carburetor.type for its NO crazy electronics. Like ITCHY boots using now
Lighter bikes definitely have their advantages for adventure riding! 🏍️💨 Simplicity and fewer electronics mean easier repairs on the road. Itchy Boots proves you don’t need a big bike for a big adventure! 😃 Do you have a favorite lightweight adventure bike? 🔧🌍
That’s a fair point! ⛽ A bigger tank definitely makes long rides easier, but some riders don’t mind more fuel stops. It all comes down to personal preference! 😃🏍️

I have one of the gold standard! I’m ready to try the DCT.
I have had 5 cross country trips on a gold wing and I am ready for another
Nice round up.
It’s a shame they stopped making the ST1300. I had two of them. Killer tourer.
Totally agree, the ST1300 was an amazing touring bike! It’s always a bummer when a great model is discontinued. Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
New generation Tiger 1200 is 👌 Explorer models have a 30 L tank and all the creature comforts. I can ride mine all day.
Totally agree, the Tiger 1200 is built for adventure! 🏍️

Thanks for sharing your insights! It's good to hear about both the highs and lows of motorcycle ownership. 🙏
Number one Honda Gold Wing being 76 years young l can’t justify a new one so I guess I will stay with my 1988 Gold Wing
I have a 2021 Gold Wing and I’m 62 and just like you. I won’t be making any changes soon! Keep two on the ground, and keep riding brother!
That’s awesome! 👏 The 1988 Gold Wing is a classic, and if it’s still running strong, why change? 😃🏍️ It’s proof that Honda built them to last! How many miles do you have on it? 🔥

@@MotorfiledThanks and I enjoyed your video!

What about the Yamaha FJR.
agreed...i have a gen1 ( 2004) and ive done a 1600 km trip non stop without any serious discomfort

If here are Kawa Versys and Yama GT 9, where is Honda NT1100?
This list lacks the real queen of long distance travel: BMW RT´s, period.
No can-am trikes!

Yamaha Xmax 300

Kawasaki Versys 1100 and Yamaha Traser + not too heavy like BMW or Honda 😅
Challenge accepted? Exactly! 😃 The Versys 1100 and Tracer 9 GT+ offer a great balance of performance and comfort without the extra weight of bigger tourers. Do you prefer a lighter setup for long rides? 🏍️🔥

The word reliable is not used at all.long distance focus on reliability.modern bikes are not reliable.electronics are a main hurdle .
As much as modern electronics should be a Godsend, I believe you're onto something and that their complexity is undermining the reliability of these otherwise outstanding motorcycles. I don't think this is correct! Where Suzuki?
Good point! Suzuki makes some great touring bikes too. 🏍️ Which model do you think should have made the list? We'd love to hear your pick! 😊
@Motorfiled Gsx series, gsx1000gt,1000gx,v Strom 1050 (De,Le) hmmn many more
No suzuki's out there...
where is the honda CT 125 ?
The Honda CT125 is an awesome little adventure machine! 🏍️💨 While it’s not a traditional long-distance tourer, its lightweight and rugged design make it a great choice for off-the-beaten-path adventures. Do you own one or thinking of getting one?
No 1250rt?
I'll be sure to keep that in mind for future videos.
Long distance with a chain drive bike. No thanks.
Totally get that! Shaft and belt drives definitely have their advantages for long-distance touring. 🚀 Do you have a go-to touring bike with your preferred setup? 😃🏍️
@Motorfiled 2004 k1200 gt
Many a time I wounder if you listen to the bs you talk
The narrative is really annoying.
We try to keep things engaging, but we’ll definitely take that into account for future videos. What kind of style do you prefer? 🤔
Road Glide 🤮
Not everyone’s a fan! 😆 The Road Glide has its loyal riders, but every biker has their own style. What’s your go-to long-distance ride? 🏍️
Honda 750 Transalp
Great choice! 👍 The Honda XL750 Transalp is a solid adventure tourer with a nice balance of power and versatility. Have you taken one on any long trips?

Any bike what has less than 21 litre tank ain't a long distance motorcycle!
That’s a fair point! ⛽ A bigger tank definitely makes long rides easier, but some riders don’t mind more fuel stops. It all comes down to personal preference! 😃🏍️
