  • Godot 4 has everything you need in a game engine, but with the use of AddOns we can make creating games so much easier!! It's basically like updating the engine, but updating the engine for what we need specifically. Like completely customizing Godot to work best for you! So These are my 4 favorites and what I think are the most beneficial AddOns for you to use in Godot 4 to get the most out of the engine.

These game development tutorials take a lot of time to create and I’m working on becoming a better teacher and learning how to explain Godot things in a better way, if you’d like to support this journey to expand knowledge and help other game dev’s learn to create their own games then please.. Become a Member! It would mean the world and you’ll help me out so much! Thank you!
have a great rest of your day and of course be safe :)

Also, in case anyone's interested, it supports more than just TileMaps ;) Rendering is separate from generation so you can make your own renderer, the addon comes with a TileMap and a GridMap one.

    FIRST:
What I wrote below is translated from my local language, sorry about that
I'm not very good at English, I watched your video with subtitles on, but everything is fine, I can understand nearly 70% of what you said.
Below are just my feelings over the past few days translated from my local language. Hope you can understand what I say...
While I was doing a project for school, I didn't know what to do. I watched a lot of videos on TH-cam but most of them I didn't understand very much, it was quite complicated and very difficult to grasp.
Many days ago, I saw your video "How to Make 2D FARMING game in godot", I just tried to watch it and I felt surprised. Everything is not so difficult as I thought, I learned a lot. Many of your videos, especially the farm series.
In each episode, I follow you and create many new things for the game that I can do within my ability. I also took notes on things to note. , how each function works. I feel very happy to create something new from your tutorial.
I hope you will have a lot of luck and success in life.

I hope what I am saying now is able to be translated into your local language good! Thank you it truly means the world! I'm sitting a my computer at 10pm smiling at this comment. smiling at what you've been able to do, passing through the obstacles to finish your project! It means the world that my video are able to help, as my only goal is to break things down in a way that anyone can understand even people who have never even heard of a game engine before. You've made my night, You have this determination within, a never quitting energy and I know that you'll do something amazing in life. I wish you the world, I'll be rooting for you, you've inspired me tonight and I can't wait to see where you go, Goodluck brother

Hey! It's been a while since I've started watching your videos, even though I don't usually comment on videos. Your "how to make an rpg in Godot 4" series really helped me when starting to use Godot 4, especially to understand how YSorting works!!
I also really like these videos where you showcase addons, you should make more imo!
Really like the Gaea addon (especially after I saw the lead dev post updates on some discord servers on how they made the addon better time to time), I plan to use it in my game in the future.
I also made an addon, called quest system, and as the same suggests it's an addon to make quests, it'd be nice if you'd check it out! Having feedback is something I care a lot, especially when it is about giving the community new tools to make godot even better.
Again, keep up the good work!!

I think you should always mention version control like the git plugin. I'm pretty sure that most newbies aren't professional devs and don't know about it, but it's really helpful to play around, refactor some code, etc. You can always rollback your changes. Please, someone, I love using godot but recently scenes in my game have been “corrupted”
Godot is the only engine this happens on, but it’s the one I prefer to use as I’ve used it the longest. All people keep saying is that I’ve “changed the file location/name outside of the engine. This isn’t true - I’m not renaming or relocating any files outside the engine. It really sucks to work on something for 4+ hours and then come back the next day to see all my work is rendered useless. To be clear it seems to happy to various scenes at random. It’s happened to: my world scene, player scene, gun, scene bullet scene, enemy scene.
So to be clear it’s my scenes that are being corrupted.
To be clear I’ve tested a few things:
Restart application, restart pc, checked my SSD with crystal disk to make sure that it’s not my SSD, checked other files, tried using unity, unreal and Game Maker - all of which this doesn’t happen with. However, I’m most familiar with GoDot as for the last year this is what I’ve been using. Now I can’t even start projects anymore because my files are randomly corrupted.
Please, if anyone knows how to fix this let me know.
Also, I’m using 4.2 stable. My games are saved directly to my desktop and not on “OneDrive”.
    E.g
    c:\users\me\desktop\GoDotProjects.
