      As a YEC it's so cool to see the echoes of the Biblical narrative, clearly misremembered. In the very beginning, the universe is viewed as a formless ocean of water over which the spirit of God "hovered," which uses a word that refers to a bird brooding over its nest. God is of course a Trinity of persons which are one being. The Mayans remembered that there were two other individuals involved at some point and also a serpent, but exactly when and what they did they were iffy on. And they remembered that humanity was created at some point. But the water, feathers, three in one that creates the universe, and serpent involved are the dawn of humanity are all fascinating fragmentary memories of the true history which their ancestors would've heard before the Babel dispersion.

    Fantastic Vid! It's cool to see a more obscure pantheon like this and what they can do. It's interesting to me that the highest deity and the only one seeming to be eternal is also the one comprised of three. The idea of a divine eternal trinity seems common to many religions, possibly due to the usefulness of triangles in construction for creating stability.
    I saw this comment on one of your older videos and I absolutely agree that after you do all the pantheons you'd like to do a tier list vid for the mythological pantheons would be extremely hype!

      The Christian concept of God differs so much between denomination. For example, in Mormonism God is essential an uplifted mortal from another planet who didn't create the universe but in Orthodox Christianity God's Nature is literal beyond description and can only be spoken of in what it is NOT and the "qualities" of God that people see are only His "Activities." So he'd have to split up the video to cover different versions of the Christian God (similar to what he did for Zeus) only there would be a lot more versions.

    What about Itzamna is he strong? And how would the Norse and Greek gods fare against the Maya gods?

    • @literarywho
      @literarywho  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      unless you can translate the codices, there practically is nothing about Itzamna in written form.
      my personal headcanon, and i would like to stress this is *my* *headcanon*
      my headcanon is that Itzamna is the bacabs.
      as for how the maya gods compare against the greek and norse, they are more powerful than the norse and weaker than the greek.

      @@literarywho what about the egyptians and the lovecraftians gods? I would assume the latter ones are way above all other pantheons since they exists in lovecraft work and they dont rank particularly high, but what is your opinion? Where do lovecraft and egyptians pantheon rank compated with the others? And would the lovecraftian gods be capable of countering the mayan ability to remove power? Keep up with your work by the way, your channel is awesome 🤩

    This gets kinda philosophical, but their omniscience could be attributed to how they know everything because they *made* everything, and not like incidentally or subconsciously like other gods, there was proper intention behind every attempt at creation, so the 3 failed attempts can be seen pretty much as iterations, much like an inventor, and like an inventor, they know everything about their creations because they had to know to create and repeat the results. It's actually really scientific once you think about it.

    So, heres a random question if you read this. How high would you rate literal God (whichever, maybe ever interaction) in terms of power. Or is that a bit too much of a Touchy subject. If so, what would you personally say would be thee most powerful ability in fiction, other than just being a goku fan fiction writer oc of yampsha. (Personally i think the concept of being the boundergy between fiction and non-fiction probably is unbeatable. Because killing them would just mean you transcended into another higher fiction, and fusing literally does nothing but basically makes you that guy now since you can't really transcend past yourself since that isnt how our real world works.) Also 10 bucks that's the reason God made man, if you genuinely think about it, its literally just a guy writing fanfiction and just deciding he wants to live in his fan fiction world. Head cannon uwu(yes. I did do the funny face.)

    but you know, they can see the future. Sooooooo.
    Can't defy fate clause? Omniscient of present and past future vision a bit spotty?

      there is no such thing as "the strongest in fiction".
