  • The good folks at Cinemot in Portgual sent me a roll of Amália 100D Black and White 35mm film.
I don't shoot B&W film very often but when I do, WOW! I love these photos. In this video I describe 18 photos I shot on this roll and I also give a clue to what this repackaged film could be.
What did you think of the photos? Would you buy this film? I'd love to know, tell me all in the comments!

    Brilliant shots.
I have exactly the same challenge with black and white film. Thinking in colour just comes more natural to me.
But, over the years I have become better at seeing, when a subject, that doesn't work in colour will look great in black and white.
That's the strength of black and white, I think - when the colours of a subject just look awful, black and white is the way to go.

Thanks so much NP! Yeah it’s a challenge isn’t it. I’m keen to shoot more B&W in coming months and hope to get better at seeing in monochrome myself!

Thanks Gab! Do you speak Portuguese? I learnt Spanish 15 years ago so I was channeling that vibe 😂

    Fun cannister. :)
Do you save all the cannisters of film you've shot? :). I just started doing that. :)

Sadly not! I sent it to the lab 😢 I have asked for some canisters back but most labs won’t do it 😭 I have the box though! 😁 thanks for watching 🙏

@@MattLovesCameras I'm fortunate to have a local lab that's owner operated -- very accommodating.

@@MattLovesCameras I would love that, even though I am in the UK and they are rare here, my mum and dad had one for 40 odd years and it lasted me and my brothers swinging on it as kids. they are so iconic. Its like Americans taking pictures of basket ball hoops, you have to do it.
