- New Ferry Waterfront, Refreshment Rooms and Old Pier by drone. This location has been suggested to me on more than one occasion and a few people were also disappointed that it was not in my Wirral Coastline video (sorry!). Here it is and I hope you enjoy.

The opening shot or the bulk oil storage tank at the essar terminal with the two small white trailers out side is my place of work right now,we are carrying out major repairs to replace the floor in the tank👍

there used to be a large crane on the end of that pier/jetty, me & four mates climed to the top of it years back, very stupid thinking back & very scary, great vid by the way

I'd seen that pier structure before but didn't know what its original purpose was. After watching the vid, it looked like train tracks along the length so I assumed it was some sort of port for offloading goods or maybe oil. So I Googled and found out that there used to be a ferry crossing to Liverpool there. The name of the area should have been a giveaway!
I didn’t know either Dave until several people asked me to visit there to drone. Amazing isn’t it finding out the history.
that was what that pier ain the 1800 but it was for until a few years ago it had huge cargo ships docked at it ready to unload their cargo, New Ferry pier was further up and yes there was ferrys across the Mersey but that was a long time ago, they had finished when I was a child, the pier that was there in New Ferry had been demolished when a drunk captain rammed it and it was only made of wood so disintegrated what you are seeing is not the same thing you are seeing the rockferry/tranmere pier for ocean-going containers and tankers www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5609627

kinda disappointed in this it mostly shows the old jetty witch is not New Ferry but Rock Ferry, at first I thoughtn you would then swing around and show Rock Park and ppoint out where the old bath house was in Rock Park and all the bigg old houses that used to belong to see captains and millionaires of the day and go along to New Ferry and point out where the New Ferry pier used to be till a drunk boat captain rammed into it and then I thought you would go along the Esplanade to shore fields and point out where New Ferry baths used to be and that in their day had the highest diving board in Europe if I remember rightly, I saw many a brave man climb up to the top but most walked down again, or where the isolation hospital used to be for sailors, but there was none of this mostly just the Rock Ferry pier now virtually gone only the last shot could you see New Ferry shore line in the distance
Thanks very much for your feedback Judy, much appreciated! The issue with showing the houses is that they do now belong to people who are resident in them so I cannot really show close shots of them without permission. Well, I suppose I could if I maintained my safe flying distances but it’s just not right without permission. The rest I can certainly take in and do on another day. I did have to cut a little short yesterday due to the wind picking up. Genuinely appreciate the feedback though 👍🏻
