I understand the argument about safety concerns for the passengers and what they would be more comfortable with when it comes to NERVs... but if the OceanGate sub disaster taught me anything it is that that people rich enough to afford this would likely not be looking into the details concerning their own safety and just assume that someone else did the math and made sure it was ok. As always, she's a beautiful craft. I'm happy that the TURD mod has sparked your muse this much. I'd love to see a full tutorial on how it works, I haven't tried it myself and I know there is a learning curve with it.
@@vaos3712 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂ That is exactly what I was looking for... That will teach me to sleep on one of your uploads because I assumed what was covered in it!
@vaos the orange v part is actually just where the nose of the craft is pointing, the yellow circle with the 3 lines is your crafts direction of travel, and angle of attack is actually how far the craft can pull the nose off the direction of travel. Basically the orange v is where your nose is pointing and the yellow circle is where you are actually going
Your design ethos when building ships is just so cool. I love how you incorporate realistic elements whilst still keeping an aesthetically pleasing silhouette. If you want more of a challenge, I suggest some life support mods like kerbalism, simplex, or TAC.
I love your work, i really would want to see some more NASA inspired spacecrafts, u can inspire from the old mars mission concepts etc. Would really love it.
I laugh when you say Kerbal strapped to a seat, don't have to worry about food, oxygen, etc. I've been playing with life support and psychological hab timers. It's a completely different experience, completely different craft.
The new TURD mod really must have inspired you. I haven't seen you posting this often in quiet some time. Great work VAOS, its inspiring to see such a network of vehicles. I can see you making a bus shuttle like ssto to move people in mass as well. That would be the cheaper tickets but neither the less that is definitely in the deck of cards for future builds. Take care VAOS
Not a whole lot of civilians want to endure 9G acceleration because the pilot wants to save time. I'd take the nuclear and 1g acceleration. Edit, ok wait you kept it just around 1 on the way there, nice job.
You've talked about some ultra efficient SSTOs that could cruise around kerbal solar system, could you build such a thing ? Like do a super efficient SSTO with some realistic features like crew room etc. I feel like it would be a challenge that would be interesting to see in video
The difference between the longitudinal axis of the fuselage and the chord of the wing, is known as angle of incidence and is static (unless you are flying a F-8 Crusader). Your prograde vector for aviation is known as a velocity vector, they are the same thing (you'll recognize it in fighter HUD videos or flight sims). Angle of attack is the difference between the direction of the relative wind and the chord of the wing - though KSP has this incorrect and it's the difference between where the root part is pointed and the direction of flight. Angle of attack is dynamic and can affect the CoM/ CoL relationship as it can move your center of lift in both the vertical and long axis. And yes, high angle of attack means significantly more drag, but also usually means more lift, both from the wings and the fuselage (body lift or drag induced lift).
@Vaos I'm pretty sad that KSP2 is a flop, I was seriously excited about being able to build space programs and go to war with friends, or even my kids... Your space cult has inspired a lot of my builds. Space Cult!!!!😁🤫😎
You've got your reasoning all messed up. To you, a non nuclear craft is fast. This is because for the transfer window, the absolute longest period of time that the passenger spends on the craft you don't even give a damn because you just press the little speed up button in the top left and forget that it even exists. You let them sit there on a straight forward Hohmann transfer trajectory playing 52 card pickup over and over and over 'till they're space mush upon arrival. Whereas if you designed a nuclear craft, with tonnes of efficiency and way more delta v, you could actually do some justice to them. You could put them on a constant acceleration - constant deceleration transfer so they make it to the Mun in hours rather than being bored out of their minds by the time they get there. But no. The tyranny of the time warp button hides all this calculus away from us. We just pretend we're designing craft to get to the Mun fast, because all we do is look at how soon we can stop burning the engines, rather than for how long we can keep them burning. Because *that* is real, actual fast.
Can you make a video about the keyboard shortcuts you use during building? Sometimes I see you rotate something or translate over, and I just can't figure out how you're doing it.
try this, go to settings in your game save menu, (the screen should be the one that shows your space center to click the buildings) scroll down the the settings menu until you see advanced tweekables. make sure it active. now in build screen you have a new option when u right click parts that gives you auto strut. use this to auto strut your wings to your craft to keep them from falling apart. hope this helps 😊
May i suggest an game called cosmoteer? it's very fun and creative to play, maybe you will like. Also i love thinking on this side of Passenger/commercial spacecaft, want to see more of this
Wait how do you even keep it that stable? The center of mass is so far back, is it bc of the center of lift is also back or that my ksp have some problem because it dosn't seem to work for me.
i completely disagree, i think most people would be more then willing to go to the MOON if the wait time is only 24 hours, i've been on a flight to hawaii for 17 hours and it wasn't too bad
Not many civilians would board a nuclear powered craft?? You obviously haven't taken tours aboard the US nuclear aircraft carriers. You would be surprised as to how many people will actually board a nuclear powered craft
That yellow indicator is called the PROGRADE
The orange -v- looking thing is prograde? They lied to me! 😮😢
I think "angle of attack" is the pitch, right?
@@vaos3712 that's just the current pointing direction, prograde also takes your tractory into account. They weren't lying to you vaos, don't worry.
Its not, since prograde takes your current trajectory into account. That's just the direction you are pointing in...
@@vaos3712 Last I heard it was referred to as the 'level indicator'

VAOS Rocks. Time to go play KSP thanks for the inspiration.
I 100% agree about realistic/believable rockets. I installed life support mods and spent 2 mil in career for a 400 ton ike colony ship.

2:32 this is why i love kerbalism
Sweet craft! I can also imagine that being used as a MVP and detail “personal jet” kinda thing
I love the design of the station in this one!
this looks great, awesome to see youre still active.
It's a nice looking SSTO! Hope you feel better than you did when you recorded the voice over
I take back what I said about the paint mod, it makes everything look bad ass.
What mod is that?

You videos never disappoint
I'm really looking forward to the mega-stations video!
Can’t stop hearing Bob from bobs burgers…
Also there are shielded docking ports that can go on the front and TURD would make them look okay.

The cheaper option, probably. If the nuke was cheaper, then yeah, it would probably be a preferred choice.

For the algorithm.
I've been wondering about those stations. ❤ Can't wait to see them.
Stay well VAOS!
Nice design.
SSTO. Only way to go
I feel like your average person would think a nuclear rocket would be similar to a nuclear submarine and not think that it would be bad.
one hell of a sleek and beautiful SSTO, love your work VAOS
Man, what a voice! Sorry to hear the reason for it, I hate the heat as much as you do, but your voice is phantastic
High key I’d choose to ride the nuclear SSTO just so I could say I rode a NUCLEAR vehicle. My ego would be my downfall.
Yaaaaay VAOS 🙏

more like 1400+
