From the question near the beginning about why sometimes the female slimes reject the male's advances. I can't be *sure*, but I am pretty confident that this is what causes it: 1. All adult slimes have a "readyToMate" timer that starts between 1 second to 2 minutes 2. When any courting slime has been readyToMate for > 35 seconds, they give up the chase. Both they and their mate reset their readyToMate timers to 2 minutes. 3. When a male slime picks a female to court, he sets his readyToMate timer to -1. But he *does not reset HER readyToMate timer* 4. When the male and female slime finally get together, one of two things happen: 4a. If they are outside and there are at least 5 entities within a one-tile range of the slimes, they refuse to mate 4b. Otherwise, they start mating. The female is now also courting the male, and they will have a baby after 2 seconds But notice, that in that last step, *the female is now courting the male*. If she has been readyToMate for >35 seconds, #2 indicates that she and her mate will both give up the courting right away, before the 2 second baby timer completes (If you look closely at the video at 1:13:18, both slimes have a heart over their heads for one frame before they stop mating). EDIT: So the odds of it happening would be whatever the odds are that the male's readyToMate timer is more than 33 seconds greater than the female's readyToMate timer (35s timer limit minus 2s mating duration). The timer is initialized randomly when the slime is first born/hatched/spawned, decreases every frame that you're onscreen with them, and only otherwise changes when the slimes finish mating or give up on mating (which always sets it to 2 minutes). Someone else can do the math to figure out the odds under those circumstances that the timers would be too far apart to mate
