In the first episode of the post election season of What's Your Ism, Sudipto Mondal speaks to Karnataka’s most prolific bi-lingual writer, Shivasundar. He has also been involved in Left activism for nearly four decades.
Shivasundar makes some incisive observations about the present state of Left politics and the so-called ‘pragmatism’ of collaborating with the Congress. He says that the Congress is fundamentally an enabler of Brahminism and neo liberal capitalism.

57:00 this is actually a great point. Maybe a multi term government of Congress or even most regional parties (maybe with the exception of like the DMK or LDF) might weaken sangh outfits but that shouldn't be construed as a defeat outside electoral politics.

Just wants add here about ppl criticizing Congress that they indulge in soft Hindutva then when they did not do that many experts were saying Congress doesn’t understand the ground reality not adjusting itself what’s happening in the country. Also without power nothing can be changed & to get power somewhere Congress has to concede to majority sentiments. Once u r in power one can implement their strategies. Politics & power is not as straight as any movement or running a NGO or organization. In Politics can’t stick to one principle it has many dynamics. Unfortunately Current politics doesn’t run on pure principles!! Power & ideology doesn’t go together !!
