Gary was clutch, wish we had a guy like him on the team now, especially when we play against guys like Marchand.

Mr. Roberts is one former Leaf the team could use right now. My favorite, after Cujo.

One of my favourite Leafs of all time. He left his heart and body on the ice every shift. He hit like a mad man, but had so much game in him. He was a pure leader on the Leafs and he's the exact role model the Leafs could use right about now.

As a leafs fan, I enjoyed watching Gary Robert's roll up Ottawa in the playoffs every year. I can remember him being 41 facing Ottawa in a Pittsburgh jersey and my dad and I sat there laughing in our glory watching pretty much and old ass Grey beard in terms of sports on one 🦵 still rolling up the senators. We were pissed off to hell with the leafs but at least we had Gary Robert's rolling up the senators like old times. 🤣

I'll never forget the day we traded Mats Sundin away, the draft is right around my birthday too. I think I just turned, or was about to be, 14. I was so disappointed, my only solace being that at least it wasn't Sakic.

I remember that day too. I was 5 or 6. I cried. And i hated Sundin for that trade for the first year he was in T.O. and even though i learned to appreciate him, i never really got over it until Wendel came back to the leafs a few years after.

That team had a bunch of bruisers that played with a lot of heart.
Shayne Corson, Darcy Tucker and Tie Domi were all fun to watch!
Also a shame Sundin never got the credit he deserved.

The question is....why did Jeff O'Neill retire at age 31 after scoring 20 goals with the Leafs.....

Blew his knee out. I ran into him at a bar a few years ago along with Todd Burtuzzi.

Gary Roberts probably had to try really hard not to flex too hard or else he'd rip his shirt
