Deanna, I know the perfect name....lol " Barney " as in, Barney google with the goo-goo-googly eyes, It's a song & cartoon character from the same time frame of your weird & wonderful bear ! What a cute teddy ! I also want to compliment you on your lovely flowers. Before I was unable to work in the garden, I too, spent a good amount of time raising flowers, just spending time enjoying being out in nature. In fact, my former home is where I planted 80 rose bushes ! People in that area called me the rose lady. Would you believe that the new owners took them all out ! When I first drove by the old house I had to cry !! I made some small gardens here, but nothing like I had....sure do miss gardening. Thank you for sharing your lovely flowers....they are beautiful ! And Yes, Beautiful flowers & Teddy bears go together well !!! Hope you had a great Memorial Day long Weekend ! I have another little Steiff from the 50'/60's waiting for me to pick up at the post office...I can't wait he's only 6". Earlier this week I received a 50's running rabbit in a larger size in near mint condition....he's amazing ! ((( Big Bear Hugs ))) from me

The new owners were probably too lazy to care for them. What was the name of your favorite rose or roses? I am so curious. What did you do when they got black spot? Some of my roses are black spot magnets and I tried so many different natural remedies and none of them worked. Here on Long Island it rains a lot and is always humid in the summer so it is extremely hard to keep roses healthy. I bust my tail off trying to keep them looking good. What kind of Steiff bear did you get? Was it an original teddy? I love those bears and am amassing a huge collection of them. I am waiting for one to arrive right now too. Someone on ebay sold me a beautiful, almost mint caramel one for only $30. She had a make an offer button on her listing and I was shocked when she accepted my offer. Can't wait to get it. The Steiff running rabbit sounds adorable!! Was it the one that steiff named Hoppy? I have a small version of one of those and they are adorable. I am so sorry for asking so many questions. Deanna, we are a lot alike ! I am a chatty Cathy too, when it's subjects that I love. Yes, it is a hoppy and I too, have a smaller one. I didn't realize there was one in this size. The bear is one that doesn't have paw pads....it's all mohair. He doesn't have his name tag, but does have his button ( I think ) lol I'd have to look the pic up. He didn't make it here yesterday.....so hopefully, Monday he'll be here. My favorite roses are David Austin climbing roses. That was the one that I had climbing over my swing frame. I wish I could find my picture of it. As for Black spots, I didn't have much luck when it got them, but thankfully I didn't have to deal with that much. Mostly it was the deer & Afeds ( sp) that I had to deal with. Irish Spring soap kept the deer away and water & Dawn ( dwl ) kept the bugs away. I'm so pleased we became friends !!

I am happy for you. My favorite David Austin rose is Molineux. Molineux is gorgeous and usually looks so pretty in my garden every year. Yes, I hate those pesky aphids too. I don't get deer in my yard thank goodness, but they are on Long Island. Thanks for those tips. I haven't tried the dawn dish soap trick. I wanted to buy ladybugs because they eat aphids, but it's not worth it because they fly away. Hopefully these little buggers will disappear soon. I hate them so much. It is so nice talking to you.
