- An in-depth view of Tahitian pearl farming at Kamoka Pearls. Once a Tahitian oyster is 3 years old, it is ready to be grafted. A nucleus made of recycled oyster shell is inserted into the oyster. The oyster is then put back into the ocean where it will be protected from predators such as turtles, rays, and trigger fish. During this time the nucleus is slowly encased in nacre. After a year of being out at sea, the oyster is pulled back out and is ready to be harvested. Once harvested, another nucleus will be inserted to produce a second pearl a year later.

Last night I stumbled to this amazing channel and enjoy watching videos of all kind of beautiful pearls with different shapes. I'm grateful and appreciate people who truly care for nature and life of living beings in the world. Interesting to help save the oysters without cause any harm to them. It must be a great experience and journey to take good care of them.
Those breath holds! Pretty intense workout.
I just love videos like this
Neat to imagine that even if a basket detaches from the anchor line, the clams will probably be safer than of they were wild.
❤❤❤. More please

YES hello good afternoon my friend Kamoka Pearls thankyou and welcame friend 👍😘
Bro how deep is that water at the first spot you tied those off on? That water is really deep blue. Looks hundreds of feet deep
I share your content on telegram. Thank you so much for your regenerative farming of oysters and taking care of God’s creatures.
Please I want an answer does it took one year to make pearl not 5 year?
Great watching the diver tie the knots. So easy to undo next time.
Can you explain in a video why this proses is not in Tonga, Hawaii Greece , canary Island but only in French Polynesia?
i don't know anything about this, why are you so delicate with getting the pearl, why cant you just crack open the clam?
because he doesn't want to kill it.. He puts them back into the ocean to make more pearls.. His breeding them as so to speak 😊
Do you sell those pearls?
Would that not be the whole point of the operation? Unless it's a science project?
Why pu a pearl after taking one out
I was barely able to hold my breath as long as he did and I am not doing anything. I did a lot better on the second one with only 3. 💪🏼😂🤣
He doesn’t check around for sharks at all
So the oyster remains in that mesh for an entire year till you come pick it up for its pearls? And then you go back to put it back in jail?
Jail??? Please look up an Oyster's natural lifestyle. Oysters are stationary filter feeders, once they find a spot to live they attach themselves to that spot for the rest of their lives.
I wonder how common it is for a dumb fish to bite and unslip those slip knots
I'm all:
But are the oysters happy? 😢😂
Happiness is a human concept
I don't consider that a pearl anyone! I am familiar with the Mikimoto process for over 25 years now! but seeing how Large the substrate sphere's are nowadays, and how thin the mother of pearl coating is! I think the pearl industry is a scam!! And people are being cheated with how "cultivated " pearls are made on an industrial type system! 😑 only the oysters are natural, but it ends there!! 🙄 there is nothing natural about pearls anymore!
