Leslie--your Lento sweater is perfection and that yarn choice and color absolutely sublime. I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe -- easier for me in theory than in reality lol!! And the Friend to Friend is so lovely. Hugs my beautiful friend!
I’m looking forward to that pattern coming out. 🎉 I really love the inspiration I get from your knits. The colors are fantastic and the pattern choices are always so wearable. So thank you for that inspiration and also for sharing your patterns with all of us. Lastly, thank you for choosing more affordable yarns on occasions for your patterns. Not all of us knitters can always strictly use the typical expensive wools featured in so many patterns. For certain projects, yes, but there is something to be said for durable wools with acrylics added. I knit up a butterfly blanket for my first grand baby due this week and I really enjoyed making it. Thank you!
The color of your Lento is gorgeous and I love your shrug! It is such a pleasure when I see you have a new episode. Thank you for always boosting my knitting enthusiasm!💕
You’re right about moving on and to frog something you are not loving! I just did that after working on a garment over the winter. Knew I wasn’t loving this particular top down fit so why did I keep knitting it? Have already picked the replacement pattern and It will be a beautiful pullover at some point but not just yet. Thanks for an inspiring episode and look forward to your latest pattern release!
Oh Leslie! I WISH I could recommend the Vintage yarn ,but I can't. I have other Berocco yarns I like, but it was PILLY-to-the- MAX! I bought it for it's washability and knit my 1st grandbaby a blanket. It was awful even before I got it off the needles. If you are going to put time into a project, there must be better superwash option. Sorry for my bad news...
All the socks sets are pretty. Bird is the word is my favorite. I love your granny projects and the jelly roll blanket. Maybe someday!!! I have swatched for my first garment. I am going to knit Champagne Cardigan by Petite Knit. I am anxious to give it a try. Thanks for your podcast, you are an inspiration.
Such a Beautiful shrug! I will look forward to trying it and will so enjoy wearing it! Thank you, so very generous of you to make it available for us to try- can only hope mine will be as lovely as yours!!
Awe! Thank you sweet Tina! I can't wait to see your Friend to Friend out in the world! 😍 Make sure to watch in a couple of weeks to grab the pattern! 🧡
Hi Leslie! I love the Berroco Vintage yarn. I've made 5 Campside cardigans using this yarn. It's very soft and makes a beautiful stitch pattern. It wears well and very little piling if any at all.
Hi Leslie. I used the Berroco Vintage, held double with Rico Essentials Alpaca Blend, in a cardigan as a Christmas gift for my mother in 2021. She wore it for the rest of that winter and all of last, and so far it's been holding up very well. Thanks so much for another great video!
Your shrug is great! You did a fantastic replication. I look forward to making one for myself. Sorry that I missed your test knit for smaller sizes. I’m your size, minus a couple of inches in leg length. 😂 Your Lento loves that yarn! It’s perfect. Thank you for sharing! 💕
Hi Leslie!!! Another wonderful podcast!!! I love your aesthetic!!!! Berroco Vintage is a great workhorse yarn with a wonderful color palette. I have been using it for years. It wears extremely well!!! I love it for throws, afghans and baby/kid garments. My mother has a simple raglan cardigan I made at least 12 years ago. She wears it frequently and it looks pretty good.
Awe. Thank you Mindy! And thank you for your opinion on the Vintage. So many people have commented about how terribly it pills. Hard to tell what to do! :)
I’ve been seeing a lot of Lento sweaters! Raglans fit best on my broad/er shoulders! Love the soon-to-be shrug! My upper arms get chilly (while the rest of me is just fine…go figure), and this style is smaller than my (modified) poncho style cover-up. I’ll have to look into the suggested yarn…ummm, stash, ya know 😊😊!! Thanks! You’re a breath of fresh air! Safe travels!
I ran into Michael's today (USA) to see if they had any Hue & Me in store (they did not). I will be casting this one on as soon as it's available - so cute and perfect for gifting!! That Frances Valentine number is STUNNING... I'm a sucker for green and that embroidery... omg...
Love this patern and like to try to test for you, never did test knitting before and my measurements- about 52". Thank you for your always beautiful podcasts, happy Easter to you and family ❤.
I've used Berroco Vintage a lot for my daughter (adult) for hats and mittens. They have always had the colors that go with her coats. All items have worn well.
Thanks for the joy once again 🥰 I love when you show up with an episode! Oh yay Spain again, so nice. I’m trying to be logical in my making but I sewed some test pants (little short not enough fabric) one looked like I rolled in bright green jungle leaves and the other looks like fruit salad fell all over me 😳 matches nothing in my wardrobe but there you go…. gardening clothes maybe as I recently wrecked so many nice dresses. Two conflicting personalities running around inside me - oh this looks pretty I’m going to make it 🍉🍌🍎🍊🍍🍋 ok time to wear it… oh hell no 🙃😆
Your podcasts are always a delight. I adore your aesthetic and wear pretty much the same neutral colors with the addition of navy blue. The shrug is perfect. It looks like an easy knit and would be a great gift knit. Once again, you've inspired me and I just found the Lento pattern in Issue #11 of my Laine magazines and it will be my next cast on. Thanks, Leslie, for always being a calm in the storm that our world is often in.
Oh my gosh. My sister and I were saying the other day how darn cute you are. Cute house, great style, lots of travel, beautiful…. Oh and skinny, there’s that! Thank you for the great stuff. Can’t wait for the shrug pattern. ❤
The Lento is stunningly simple. Your colors are perfect together. Your jeans are darling. Can you provide info on who makes them? I’m currently working on a “test knit” of sorts for myself. I have been knitting for 50 years, since I was 11. I’ve made many sweaters for babies, and even spent a while making burial sweaters for premature stillborn babies which were donated to the hospital where I worked as a nurse. I’ve just never knitted a sweater for myself. I’m testing the ranunculus out of an acrylic yarn, which was given to me. I’m satisfied with the fit and now want to purchase the real yarn I want. Which brings me to my last point. I like that you don’t always use expensive Yarns. You choose high-quality, readily available Yarns for your viewers to see what can be made with them. I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and admire your sense of style; the clothes and accessories you make are all very fashionable, and not trendy. Thank you for the time you take to make this all possible for us to watch. I look forward to each new video and often watch it twice. You truly are “a friend to knit with”. Safe travels to your family.
Absolutely loving your channel - I cannot believe I have just found you! I’m totally trying to knit on things I will wear now. I’m sooo drawn to bright pinks and reds but they just don’t go with much and I feel self conscious in them , so massive destash for me. Out with the old and in with the new - capsule wardrobe! 😂
Ha! Yay!!!👯♀️👯♀️👯♀️ and yes. I am drawn to all the sun bright colors and love them on other peeps. But I feel like a Christmas tree when wearing! 😍🥰☺️
@@LeslieFriend Agreed, and we spend all that time & money so I need to be much wiser. I’m enjoying watching all your videos with a cuppa and my knitting b4 I start my day - thank you! Although, it’s not good for my ever growing list of things to make! 🥰
I'm knitting a Saturday Shrug now. I love how your shrug narrows at the top. I have some Hue and Me in my stash and can't wait til your pattern comes out. So, so cute!
Hi Leslie, I’ve knit 2 sweaters & a hat with the Vintage (dk weight) & really like it. It’s soft with nice drape & has held up well. Thanks for another enjoyable episode.
Thank you Blair! Good to hear since so many folks had pilling issues with that yarn. Jury is still out for me as if I want to make the Champagne Cardigan or not!☺️🤩
Hi Leslie. I have used Berroco Vintage to knit up a child’s sweater. It turned out great and the yarn was nice to work with on that little sweater. However, I am currently using Berroco Vintage Chunky to learn/knit a Coco Knits Sweater and it is not a pleasure to knit with…it splits like crazy. In fact, most of my class is using the same yarn and we are all complaining about it. I saw where someone mentioned it pills terribly in sweaters…that is good to know. I’m planning after finishing my Mabel sweater to knit it again in a nicer yarn. Maybe use the Berroco Vintage for something else other than a sweater. I have some more chunky that I’ll have to find something else to knit …I wonder if it pills in the wash too? I didn’t notice it when I washed the child’s sweater I made. Your Lento is lovely…and you look beautiful as ever. Thank you again for your inspiration and happy travels to Spain.
Ĺove to do a test knit Leslie..have never done one before but your pattern looks doable and I love it..how exciting to have designed a new pattern..I have enjoyed several of your patterns..keep up the great work..
I knit The Classic by Espace Tricot in Berocco Vintage two years ago and I love it. It looks machine made. It's not the most breathable due to the acrylic, so I only wear it in Fall and Winter. Perhaps different from others, I have not had a pilling issue. Would buy again!
Leslie, your Lento is stunning! And, I was so impressed and inspired by your ballerina jacket that I ordered a kit (they were on sale) in the colors you used, except I chose a warm purple for my "pop" where you have yellow. An exquisite piece and I'll revisit your video when I begin mine. Your tips are practical and helpful and appreciated! Great shrug too.
I love this shrug. And I’d definitely knit it as soon as it’s available. I’ve designed several shrugs but what I like about this one is the unique shoulder shaping and beautiful neckline. Interesting about the acrylic / wool blend which I normally would not consider. Definitely plan to check it out. Honestly, everything looks so divine on you and you inspire all of us.
I am, along with others, avoiding Instagram. I just cannot commit one more minute of my precious time on this earth to screens!!!!! So thank you for delivering content to TH-cam.
I'm the slowest knitter ever or I would totally test knit. In the mean time I will patiently wait for the pattern release day. That looks like it will be perfect for Christmas gift knitting for some ladies in our church.
I just made a swatch for the Champagne Cardigan. This will be my first garment. I am nervous but anxious to give it a try. I am using Drops Lima. Have a wonderful trip!!
I recently used Berroco Vintage for the first time to make the Catedral Pullover from EweKnit Toronto. It's a very soft & smooth yarn, a bit drapey, and has crisp stitch definition. I don't have any complaints, I just generally prefer a more rustic feel. It would be a great option for gift knitting because of the price, washability, and softness. P.S. I hope you try embroidering one of the shrugs, that would look fabulous!
Lovely, as usual. Loving your Lento colors! I can hardly wait for the shrug pattern, what are you going to name it? Oh, and you briefly showed the yarn for it, from JoAnn's (?), but I couldn't actually see what the name of the yarn was. I would definitely embroider the shrug as well. Hugs. Barbara😍
Hi Barbara! Awe! I'm so happy you love it! Be sure to watch next weeks video for the "Friend to Friend" shrug patten! And I love the Hue + Me yarn I used! ❤️
Leslie, I love your shrug. I would live to test knit it for you. The embroidered one that you showed a photo was absolutely beautiful. I love watching your podcasts
Hi, Leslie, love your Lento! I have used the Berroco Vintage DK but not the worsted you showed. I didn't like it much. In fact, I am still finishing a crochet cardigan with it in 5 colours and I find there's a bit too much acrylic in it for me. It just doesn't feel as soft as I like and have the drape. Also, I found certain colours I used were either thinner or thicker and not consistent. Just my opinion. Thanks for the lovely podcast!
I just love your podcast. Always filled with wonderful tips and inspirations. I can’t wait for your pattern to come out. I love the lion brand Hue and me and I already know this will make a great Xmas gift 🎉❤
Your Lento is stunning, also I wish you could take me shopping because you always have the best pieces and I’ve loved your instagram style reels. ❤ What kind of plant is that behind you please? I’m looking for a not too wide plant with a little height and that one is beautiful. Can’t wait for the shrug release! 😊
Love the idea of your Friend to Friend shrug. Will definitely get the pattern. I do hope you will have larger sizes. I am size 18-20. I knitted the Saturday Shrug & am disappointed. Great pattern but not large enough for me. I aggressively blocked it & still does not fit good. I will use as a cowl. Thank you for your very nice & informative episodes. Stay safe. Marsha
Hi Marsha! Yay! I do think if you measure up to 70" around arms and bust it will be great. If not, please let me know and I can help you with that. I want you to love the Friend to Friend as much as I do! ❤️
Love your Lento. Mine had a little less ease than I wanted so I just ga e it to my daughter who was visiting this week and she loves it. Now I will start another for me, as it was a great knit. I might do the increases the way you did. It looks great. Your new shrug pattern looks great. Can’t wait to try it. Embroidering on it would be really fun! Have a great trip!
Awe. I bet your daughter was so happy to get the Lento! And lucky you get to knit another one! 😍 Be sure to watch the next video to grab the pattern! xx
I could prob do the size 55 to make it a little more roomy. My ravelry name is Cozi3. I only list a few of the things I knit on ravelry, but if you have enough test knitters then I’ll just wait for the pattern, looking forward to it. Good luck.
Hi Christine! Yes... I have so many test knitters already so if you just want to wait a couple of weeks that would be great. Thank you so much for loving it! ❤️
I would be happy to be a test knitter for your shrug. I have been knitting shrugs non stop for 2 months because they are such a great use of special yarn.
Cannot wait to knit your shawl! That light pink color is very pretty! Which yarn did you use? I have used Berrocco Vintage. I made a baby sweater 2 years ago with it and it's held up very well.
Hi Leslie, your knits are always so lovely ❤❤ Your Lento sweater is very beautiful too…have you purchased the pattern from ravelry or the Laine magazine? It seems like lots of of people have problems with the pattern and Laine or de designer didn’t answer for a solution. Do you know if the ravelry pattern is corrected because i would like to purchase it but of course not if it’s not corrected. Thanks in advance
Hi Jacqueline! Oh so good to hear... maybe I will look to see if that yarn is available anywhere near me. I don't think the vintage will be the best choice as i hear it pills terribly. ugh! Happy Easter friend! 🧡
Dear friend Leslie, your Lento is really a wonderful sweater and the color is perfect for you. I love your interpretation for a shrug. Unfortunately I must die in warm things. What a pity! I felt the hell`s heat, when you had to take off your Lento. I think, I should buy enough summer yarn to knit it for cold winter days ;--)) In moment the Champagne Cardigan is on my needles, too. It´s a great pattern. I have chosen black merino. Looking forward to see your Champagne Cardigan...maybe we should compare our finished objects and celebrate the success with a glass of champagne. ♡ Heike
Oh Heike! YES! Let's toast champagne together! I think I need to go on the yarn hunt again as a lot of peeps say the yarn I chose pills terribly. But I'm always up for champagne, cardi or not! 😍🤩
Leslie--your Lento sweater is perfection and that yarn choice and color absolutely sublime. I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe -- easier for me in theory than in reality lol!! And the Friend to Friend is so lovely. Hugs my beautiful friend!

Love, love, love Berrocco Vintage. I've made loads of baby sweaters with it and it has performed very well.
Thanks friend! I have so many mixed reviews! Crazy! xx
Yes! I have used Berroco Vintage for several projects. Yarn is great to work with and stitch definition is beautiful. You won’t regret using it.
Thank you Bev! SO good to hear. SO many peeps have had pilling issues with that yarn. Thank you for your input!

I just made a swatch for the Champagne Cardigan. This will be my first garment. I am nervous but anxious to give it a try. I am using Drops Lima.
Have a wonderful trip!!
Yay! SO exciting to be making your first sweater! And in the Drops Lima will be lovely! Have fun! xx
Thank you for your opinion on the Berroco Vintage! I have heard of so many different opinions it's hard to tell what to do!
❤ love this project!! Can’t wait!
Yay! Thank you Candace! xx
So excited about the new shoulder snuggle you designed.
I would love to test knit for you!!! My mind is swirling with all the embroidery designs… that is such a lovely canvas
Yay! Feel free to message me on Ravelry (if you haven't already 😉)
I loved the charcoal! Nice pattern!
Awe. Thank you Cathia! ❤️
Can't wait for the shrug pattern! It looks so elegant.
Thank you friend! 💜
Great pattern, I can see getting a lot of use out of that. It would be fun to add the embroidery, also. Enjoy your trip!
YES! I hope you make one and show us what you embroider! 😍
Great to hear from you. Your Lento is beautiful
Awe! Thank you friend! 💚
Leslie, I love your shrug. I would live to test knit it for you. The embroidered one that you showed a photo was absolutely beautiful. I love watching your podcasts
Awe! Thank you Robyn! I can't wait to see some peeps embroider theirs! Feel free to message me over on ravelry to test knit! xx
As always, a ray of sunshine in every way! You are fabulous
You are just the sweetest, Meg! 💜💜💜💜💜💜
I am so excited. Going on a cruise the 21st. What a great thing to wear. I am about 48.
Ohhhh! That will be great! Message me on Ravelry so you can get started! 😍
I’m excited for your new pattern! It looks beautiful and SO useful - which I love!
Im knitting that shrug asap it’s available ! I would love to add all the embroidery ❤
YAY! I can't wait to see your mad embroidery skills! YOU are the BEST at THAT!!! 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
Super excited! Can't wait for this pattern!!❤
AWE! Thank you! xx
Love your Lento Leslie.Look forward to seeing the pattern for the shrug, it looks beautiful.
Awe. Thank you Shriley! Be sure to stay tuned to the next video to grab the pattern! 🧡
Hi Leslie! I’ve used the Berrocco yarn on several projects and like it very much!
THANK YOU! I love these comments because a lot of people have said it pills like crazy!
I have made so many projects with Berrocco Vintage and love it! Minimal pilling, and washes well!
SO good to hear Sarah! Thank you! 💜
I would love to try test knitting! Your patterns are lovely Leslie ☺️
Thank you friend! Feel free to message me on Ravelry. 💛
Your Lento is stunning, also I wish you could take me shopping because you always have the best pieces and I’ve loved your instagram style reels. ❤
What kind of plant is that behind you please?
Thank you.
😍 Be sure to watch the next video to grab the pattern! xx
Love your new design would love to test knit this, so wearable! Great vlog as usual, love the capsule wardrobe idea!
I am about 53” around bust and shoulders. Not sure if you need that.
I am a fairly new subscriber and am enjoying your podcasts. I’ll look forward to the friend to friend pattern. I think I would wear that a lot.
Yay! Thank you! Be sure to watch next episode to grab the pattern!
Love Berroco vintage! Awesome for blankets and super squishy if held double.
Oooooh thank you! Yes. Maybe I should stick to accessories with that yarn. I heard it pills terrible for a sweater. ugh!
Leslie! Your Lento is fantastic! I love the color so much. Glad to hear you are enjoying it as much as I enjoy mine!
Thank you Friend! 👯♀️ Lento twins! 🧡
@@LeslieFriend 😁Twinsies indeed!
Hi yes I have used that yarn 🧶 and it’s lovely …
Thank you! So good to hear. A lot of peeps seemed to have pilling problems with the Vintage. 🧡
I would be happy to be a test knitter for your shrug. I have been knitting shrugs non stop for 2 months because they are such a great use of special yarn.
I can knit the next larger dizr.
Hi! Please message me on Ravelry! If you already have, great. I just haven't gotten to those messages yet... but soon! 💜
Oh Leslie.....Thanks soooo much!!
🧡🧡🧡
Cannot wait to knit your shawl! That light pink color is very pretty! Which yarn did you use? I have used Berrocco Vintage. I made a baby sweater 2 years ago with it and it's held up very well.
oh, great! Thank you! Be sure to watch the video next week. I used Hue + Me yarn from Joann's. Love it! 💚
Hi Leslie, your knits are always so lovely ❤❤
Your Lento sweater is very beautiful too…have you purchased the pattern from ravelry or the Laine magazine?
It seems like lots of of people have problems with the pattern and Laine or de designer didn’t answer for a solution.
Do you know if the ravelry pattern is corrected because i would like to purchase it but of course not if it’s not corrected.
Thanks in advance
Hi Leslie! I am knitting the Champagne cardigan right now :
Hi Jacqueline! Oh so good to hear... maybe I will look to see if that yarn is available anywhere near me. I don't think the vintage will be the best choice as i hear it pills terribly. ugh! Happy Easter friend! 🧡
I can’t wait for your pattern 🤗
SO sweet! Thank you! I can't wait to share it with you! 🧡
Love your pattern❤️
Awe. Thank you Suzanne! xx
I love your Lento!
THANK YOU! 💜
Love your lento! Can’t wait for your new pattern!
Thank you Nancy! 💜
