Joe Louis wasn’t slow the poor film quality from back in the day appeared that way but for those who actually saw him fight in person will tell you that he wasn’t slow. He had very quick hands which came from his trainer the great Jack Blackburn who had Louis catch flies with his hands to improve his hand speed. And as far as footwork he was never out of position always balanced to deliver those 💣 shots of his. @@brocksimmons345 Wilder IS a bum. Tyson Fury was the only top ten ranked heavyweight he fought. The only reason he took the fight was because Fury was coming off a two year layoff and was fighting mental health/drug addiction. Wilder thought this was a good cherry pick. He could get a big name on his resume while they were vulnerable AND have a legit claim as the lineal champion. That last part is important because Wilder is a paper champion who never beat a world champion. He never won the belt from Vitali Klitschko. The belt was vacated after Vitali's retirement. Wilder beat another bum, Bermane Stiverne(who has never been a world champion himself) to win the WBC belt. Wilder is garbage truck juice.
Joe always struggled with fast moving boxers. Plus Fury has a huge size advantage plus reach advantage. No disrespect to the great Joe Louis, but he would not win.
@@jimnoexist Joe actually done better against larger opponents and Tyson performs worse against smaller boxers (Steve Cunningham) power is power doesnt matter how big Tyson is if he gets a right on the chin hes going down, Joe chips away at the giant with clubbing power shots in combination , not to mention Joe is unbreakable mentally, Tysons mind games would fall short. Also height and reach advantages dissipate against experienced fighters (Look at Canelo Smith from the weekend)
@@jimnoexist Prime 4 Prime, I think Joe Louis would be bad news for Tyson Fury. Tyson Fury isn't anywhere near Ezzard Charles in terms of punch theory...and while his size will protect him from a lot of Louis's power - it's also going to keep him from evading one of the most relentless boxer-punchers the sport has ever seen. Louis could cut the ring and had vicious body attacks. He was also a master at making himself hard to reach (due to that bladed stance and extreme outside slip + parry)...which is gonna make Fury miss everything besides a flick jab. Ali would say Joe Louis was slow. But that was not the case at all, Louis had timing and controlling the pace of a exchange. Bad intentions on his combination.
Slow feet, that’s probably it..
@@GodsonFPS yea,.. or at least it appeared slow. I think Louis had very good spatial awareness when closing the gap with his feet.
Ali was just saying that to argue with Cus D’Mato but Joe Louis was taught to take his time and not rush cause just like he said one of the best quotes that you’ll ever hear in you life “You can run, but you can’t hide!” 🎤 drop.
Louis was a knock out man. He also looked so fair skinned in films.
Which fight is 2:26?
Its almost like negotiation rather than speed and athleticism..
Can you make a video on Marco Antonio Barrera?
Bro u gotta start putting the music in ur descriptions, they're catchy
2:00 is a scary punch.
Joe Luis is great. I’ve been trying to emulate his short left hook but it isn’t easy.
He wrote about how and when he likes to do it in his book "How to Box"
It's expensive and hard to find, but there's a guy online who wrote multiple articles breaking down and explaining each chapter with written and video examples from Louis's fights.
I can't copy the link or I'd post it here, but a quick Google Search of "How to Box by Joe Louis: the Foundation of Skill" should help you find it.
A brilliant pugilist
0.51 seconds Jesus who is that opponent somebody please tell me I want to watch that fight vicious uppercut and hook.
The real bronze bomber
Brown
I get what you're saying, but those in the know appreciate the fact that Deontay Wilder should never be mentioned in the same sentence with Joe Louis.
@@DepressionShaman 100%
@@DepressionShaman Why not? Both are heavyweight world champions. Don't talk like Wilder is some bum

I debated with my friend I personally believe Joe Louis would KO Tyson Fury
Louis actually said he struggled most versus pressuring in-fighters above other styles.
Nah man, I'm a huge Joe Louis fan but Louis's prime weight was around 200-205 lbs and he struggled against quick movers
@what. nbba You can't compare Carnera and Buddy Baer to Tyson Fury
