  • This video covers the Motor Mounts and Transmission or Transaxle Mount replacement in a Porsche 997 Carrera S. This is similar in the 996 also. This procedure will make your shifts more accurate and translate to a smoother ride with better acceleration/response. It's a two part video, first are engine mounts and second is transmission mount. This is for a Manual Transmission 997 and I show the use of an AGA tool (rented on Rennlist) for the mount change. I am using WEVO mounts for the engine but it's the same procedure for factory mounts. Take your time with the transmission mount change and you will save yourself some $$, the procedure is costly due to labor if you take it in. The automatic transmission is a different procedure and different hardware. That is not covered in this video. The procedure should be done every 75k miles.

Thanks for the video. Really like it! I am thinking of installing semi-solid engine mounts on my 997 as well. How do you like them so far? Ist the increased NVH acceptable?

It worked out well, I no longer have the car. The stock mounts I removed were in bad shape so these really helped. There is an increase in NVH, but it's completely acceptable as I was using the car mostly for track use or performance driving.

I installed Wevo’s on mine and went back to OEM’s after 600 miles. The severity of NVH was incredible especially if you have coilovers and polyurethane transmission insert… a BAD combo for street use.
For a street car stick with OEM mounts.

Dan..is your car non turbo with Auto trans? I ask as the mount for my car 03 manual TT is complete unit and sold with bracket, thus no need to press out just replace the carrier. Thanks

Why did you go with those particular motor mounts. Great video 👍

I have used Wevo mounts in the past and they provide a little better support than stock (for spirited driving), but stock ones are also fine and use the same procedures for installation.
