It was fun, the main thing I learned was that plants don't need a constant supply of water just a burst when certain conditions are met which was interesting.
Fantastic series Mick. I know Venus is the benchmark for complexity, but what about a series on the Moon/Mars that'll help the more novice folks trying to make it with the phase change. (I know I keep blowing up my stuff on the advanced furnace)
One possible option for venting the oxygen would have been to have fed it into the furnace. It would have generated additional heat for the tank, though potentially causing more pressure problems.
Prehaps it's just me? I think that last year, the base wasn't finished until pitsa was on the menu. What will be the next .... next time. Maybe it's a weird suggestion, is the asteroid belt an idea? Not many of those available, nun resent. Could be for a good reason, I don't know.
At least the cat is not making paralyzing pills! What part of trade update had new traders that also talk? If you listen really carefully , you can hear that even engine noises are new! Could the turbines use the burning oxygen overflow to make power? Every time I tired to do so I burned my base :/

Mick, loving the series! Couldn't you pump your excess O2 into the furnace tank to get additional heat for smelting and the stirling engine? Or would it not auto-combust if it's pumped into a mix of 1200+C gasses?
I think I would have just made the windows closed on exit of the room, the plants don't need them open. Use a switch of some sort to open them on command when you want to look out. Automating it to match sun position works to prevent the overheating during the day; but if you're not in the greenhouse with the plants... the windows don't need to be open either.
Hi great episode as always! The stirling broke when you reset its power network i think (when you put the oxygen backpressure regulator). It was producing 1 second before and after the reset 0 on the display. Bug or can't you interrupt a stirling like that?
Ah yeah forgot to ask: is there any information about the data channels? I could not find any (a vid about that and MIPS tricks in general would be great hint hint :) )

They have just added the framework for hygiene so it might still be a few updates before we see it, but it will be interesting.

That was a learner for me too. I am used to the plants and nutrition mod where there is a constant drain on the water.

The moon is a lot harder since phase change so Mars is the place for beginners.

What about burning the extra O2 with some hydrogen in a gas generator? Though I suppose keeping the generator cool enough to run would be a challenge.

If you want an excuse to code something else, turn off all the normal lights when you're in bed. (Grow lights are still important.)
Have you checked the Security Printer for the Flare Gun?
What are the chances you could get away with using a turbine at the end of that oxygen flare stack to get some more power?

Would the turbine generators work with pumping the O2 into atmo, letting it autocombust, and then the air could give some power from that?
