The crank for the stabilizer jacks can be found under the rear seat. Once you have recovered from your heart attack of the camper’s front jumping of the ground, you can lower the stabilizer jacks.

I own a 2011 Rockwood model 1980. I also have 3 kids and our popup has been VERY much used since I bought it new and has held up great. A few things have been replaced (sink drain hose, tires) but it is a well built unit. When it comes time to replace, I'm going Rockwood again.

A couple tips from someone who owns this unit.
    1) Lower the stabilizing jacks IMMEDIATELY AFTER raising the rooftop (make sure the guide wire is taut so that you can actually fit the door into place). Note, the jacks aren't meant to raise the unit up, just keep it level
    2) Use a small battery powered drill with a ratchet attachment to make lowering the stabilizing jacks quick and painless

The stabilizers are supposed to be put down before you raise the top.

    • @pennyhinson4949

They aren't the only rv seller that does video tours of their campers that puts down the stabilizers LAST.

It says the cranks for the stabilization is inside the camper so you can’t lower them till you raise it.

Sorry folks I was wrong, the majority of pop-up campers have you put stabilizers down after the top is up.

It's nor bear proof......nor weather proof....not sound proof....

    • @josephgeorgeejr7039

Bear are very easy to warn away, nothing is sound or weather proof, but good canvas can easily repel very heavy rain when zipped up, and you can get aftermarket quilted insulated panels to line all inside canvas and at that point sounds would be about same as with a hard side

It is definitely time to retire the tent and step up to a camper like this one,or the 1940LTD,....I'd be happy with either one! I'm impressed with what I see in Rockwood's product. I have heard some say a pop up is too much work to set up,...I'm not sure I agree with that after watching this video! This being a first camper, and seeing I camp alone most of the time anyway,I can make do with the 1640LTD. All I would want is well,...that power lift system, and the a/c. I would ALSO want another set of stabilizer jacks added to the front for more stability,....the two on the rear of the unit are not enough for me,and I'd pay extra to have them installed.

Upgraded last year to the flagstaff and it is so much better than tenting. Takes 5 mins to set up maybe 15 if you packed a lot

Hi- we are a dealer for Rockwood's tent trailers like this model in the video. We are located in Apex, NC, so if you're local to us, you would be able to purchase one from us! Rockwood does have a list of dealers in other states on their website: forestriverinc.com/rvs/dealer-locator

It's for a blow and glow, it's a light and fan in one. Has a plug like a guitar plug. Then the unit clips onto the pole over the bed bed :).

I wonder if there is a kit so I can remove the side beds, attach canvas windows and make the dinette to my bed.
I'm a solo camper with my dog.
